Sir, you are the BEST! Virtually every time I’m looking for info on how to do something on my C5, VetOnVettes pops up at or near the top of my search results. Every project you take on is like dropping over to help a buddy who knows what he’s doing … then winding up handing him a couple tools and having a beer while he does his project. Thanks for all you do for the C5 community.
You have shown me that I don't want to do this, my upholstery guy is going to do it.
I dont have the patience.
Good video!
Good job. Very enlightening. You got me to watchand I don't even have your car. Good video...now get your C8...
This was an awefully ambitious and successful project.
Thank you!
You're fearless! Great job. Never knew that product existed. Thanks for the video.
Well, you have some big balls my friend. After watching this nightmare of a job if my door panes ever need recovering it's going straight to the upholstery shop. Seems the older I get the less risks I take.If I was 25 again I'd have done it myself in a heartbeat with or without instructions. Yours came out very nice. Cheers.
ps: Always keep CY glue (Gorilla Glue/Crazy Glue, etc) in the dark , It will last MUCH longer. when not in use.
Interesting... you're the first I've seen attempt this, and I've been around the C5 community for many years. It doesn't look bad though!
Thanks man. This was my first attempt at leather work as well. I think with more practice I could have it looking professional. Please use my lessons learned
Holy crap, 2 years later and all the leather kits for this are running about $1,000
you should do a video on the headliner. something ive been wanting to do on my c5z but havent found a video of anyone else doing one
sick , did you ever use pr sell the bottom peice? Can i buy it from you thanks
Unfortunately I did end up using them for a different project 😬😬
Do you think a second set of hands would have helped?
My wife is pretty crafty and is totally willing to help me. I ordered from Redline Goods yesterday.
I changed my mind after thinking about it and decided I am going to do it
If you are crafty and gave extra hands you should be good. Keep in mind I had never done anything like this before and only had about 5 hours studying online material before I started and it turned out good enough 🤷🏼♂️
I received my leather from Redline Goods, watched your video again, wish me luck
Doing this to my car right now, mine has glue holding the styrofoam on (99 Coupe). Going to try the heat gun and see if that helps, otherwise this is coming off in about 5 pieces
Oh strange. Just take your time on that portion.
@@VetOnVettes took the heat gun to the glue, didn’t help at all. So, gave it a good yank, came out in two pieces (split where you mentioned)
@@morgretd See...brute force works! ; )
Underneath the leather is the body of the panel a flat plastic or textured plastic?
Textured
Did you paint the red accents?
Nah. They were like that from the factory. The option was called "Mod Red interior"
Dashboard next
I'll probably tackle it this summer 💪
