The first time I watched one of your videos I wondered why no sound. Then I listened to a guy ramble about somebody at the door!! You putting in the beginning of each segment what you are doing and what you are using is enough. I just bought the Tamiya Supra because of you. Thanks a bunch.
Beautiful job. Thanks for not dropping a heap of noise on us, too. There's something strangely satisfying about the sounds of styrene fitting together seamlessly.
I really enjoy your videos because there is no music, no idle comments, no sounds but those of the build. And in the end among the better straight builds I see or know. Excellent kit, excellent work, once again. Thanks for sharing your experience and skills. Thumb up.
Absolutely love the ambient noise of your videos. Sometimes I fall asleep to the subtle sounds of your airbrush or the gentle scraping of your xacto blade. Lol..then an ad pops up
I have this one. I had another one when I was 12 but had little resources to make it look as good as your one. I also have the 2002 Subaru Impreza WRC with Tommi Mäkinen and Risto Mannisenmäki . Also didn't do the best job on it. I bought another 2001 Subaru Impreza WRC because I'm looking into pouring out top-level craftsmanship like what you're doing. Also on the hunt for another 2002 Subaru Impreza WRC. I'd like to see you do the 2002 Subaru Impreza WRC version though! Get a few ideas on how to be delicate and such with the models.
Wife sat next to me watching prancing on thin ice whilst I've got my ear phones in watching these hypnotic videos. Used to build airfix models as a lad but not to this standard. I had to use a 2 inch brush and left over emulsion paint out me dad's shed, didn't turn out well 🙄
Your work on those car models is by far the most astonishing, deep-down accurate I´ve seen to this day, and you´re a stickler for details. That Porsche 962 you´ve built is my absolute favourite. And, as clean as the modelling work, your video filming and editing is super neat... just delivers a calm and relaxing flow that I love to hang out to. In contrast to many of the videos of the other fellow builders out there, to say the least ;) Keep up the good work and please, let us have some more!
Ziggy's Desk I got the Porsche 911 GT1 and the Nissan R390 GT1. I am doing 2 contest builds so it will be after the first of the year before I start one of them. Also switching over to airbrush after 30 years. So I want to wait on Christmas before I do it. I feel theseTamiya kits deserve as pro of a finish as I can accomplish. Thanks
Owned a real 02 subaru ... i think it looked awesome with round lights but i did put in rally conversion like on this one... and i installed the small wing from the wrx non sti...
The bug eye was my favorite! I had an 04 (next best front end) but 1st gear gave out and Subaru didn’t want to cover it under warranty so sadly I had to get rid of it 🙁
Good job! I would like to know if you gave transparent Top coat, whether in a spray or decanted and then with an airbrush. If the latter is diluted with what, how much and with which nozzle and pressure. Thank you
Hi, I haven’t really included it yet because I’m still learning and my technique isn’t great. Also it takes me a while and is kinda boring to watch. But I’ll try to put it in my next one! Thanks for the comment!
@@ZiggysDesk The paint finish looks so smooth in the video! Although there's no music in the video, I find it quite soothing and enjoyable throughout the 19mins. Maybe you can also include some soft music too. Looking forward to your F1 builds! Cheers!
They can roll, some have front wheels that can turn, but for the most part these are usually just meant to be displayed. Tamiya also makes RC car kits, you can paint/decal and build the RC body and drive it around after 👍🏻
Cool channel. I really enjoy it. Have you tried 2500-3000 sandpapper after painting and then polishing? I'm curious on how the paint would look after that...mirror like...I think. Cheers!
I’ve been into 1/10 scale Rc cars for a while now and I was thinking of getting one of these tamiya kits(probably the 99 Impreza) I wanted to see what the build was like and this vid is perfect!
I really like the tamiya kits they go together very well. Nice work I have been putting models together for a few years now but I am just starting to really go into great detail on my builds. My next build is a 1:12 scale tamiya Tyrrell 6 wheeler. Great video and I am going to check out your channel for more.
Quality work right there. Amazing job - not just the model but also this video in general. I wish you would explain some of the techniques you are using - maybe in seperate videos? That would be awesome! Keep it up mate.
Hello. Could you tell me the measurement between front and rear axles? I would also like to know the wheel-to-wheel measurement of the same axle. Thank you and very good work.
@@ZiggysDesk in my opinion better is to use AK xtreme metal color for engine and radiator. I prefer this liquid because is more shiner and really looks like metal
You are just so meticulous with sticker application and paint it’s amazing to see how you take every detail into account I have to ask how long does one model usually take for you?
Can you link the kit, and your glue to me? I was wondering where to buy this kit. I’ve built a couple models before and I’m looking for some good glue to use. What I have used before isn’t working as well as I thought it would.
Nice work! I'm building the 1999 WRC Impreza right now and it's interesting to see the similarities and differences. I had Richard Burns' 2001 car as an r/c when I was a teenager too.
Yeah I mainly use lacquers for the body, comes out smoother, especially with leveling thinner. I also use lacquers for metallics as those have less visible flakes
I am almost done with this one myself. How did you get the decals to wrap around the bottom of the helmet? You are a better man than me.. I couldn't get it done.
Those helmets were something else 😂.. I couldn’t film them because it took me a while to do. First helmet was pretty bad with wrinkles, second one I was more patient and used a lot of microsol.. the end result was acceptable but nothing great.
where i can buy TAMiYA SCALES LIKE THIS ONE from 1st hand i mean ,, not from japan cause i will pay double shipping ,, or at least where i can find original tamiya with good prices?
What’s worked for me is 1 thin coat to seal the decals, 10-15m later a wet coat. Wait 24hr and sand with 5000 grit, and then rinse/clean/dry and a final wet coat. Wait 24-48 and then sand with 5000 to 10000 and polish with tamiya compounds.
Excellent work, looks very nice and cleanly built. I use double sided carpet tape to attach the windows, no risk of any glue squeezing out and ruining the finish. Not a criticism but some aftermarket aerials would have been nice (kit one's are a little over scale) and also some photo etched bonnet catches, but otherwise perfect!!
Thanks for sharing super inspiring about to start the build on this and thanks for the hints and guidance ... After you add the main door decals, do you cut the decals down the door line with an exacto knife? then use Micro set to smooth off the edges? thx
