SWTOR 7.4 PvP - Engineering Sniper: Starting off 2024 with Some Sniping

One of my first arenas in 2024. Decided to play some engineering sniper on a new character, been a while since I played it over Marksman or Virulence. Very fun match with a lot of kiting and chasing.
Legendary Implants: Energy Regulators & Locked and Loaded
Tactical: Ruthless Interrogation

No ionic is an interesting decision. Just personal preference?

Personal preference yeah, I find Ruthless Interogation to be more consistent for me

@@ofensatul They're welcome to that thought, I've just always preferred Ruthless over Ionic.

@@ofensatul There's a lot of ways you can outplay Ionic. For example, Snipers can roll it. Warriors can Mad Dash or reflect it. Mercs can absorb it with Chaff Flare or Reflect. It can also be outranged, since Probe only detonates with Discharge. Ionic is great against players who either don't use DCDs or aren't paying attention, but against someone who knows what they're doing it's not nearly as good. Sometimes you don't get any value out of a Probe with Ionic. I like Ruthless in arenas especially because Probe will almost always detonate and I like that consistency. It's less burst sure, but you get some nice sustained dps pressure

Is the laser strike an engineering combat skill or a general sniper class skill

Orbital Strike is available to all Snipers, but only Engineering has it as a baseline ability. Marksman and Virulence have to spec into it (which isn't worth it for most scenarios)
