Thank you for everything you do. As an original player back in 2011, I've taken years of breaks from this game, and you have made it easy for me to understand the changes that have happened while I was gone.
5:20 Yea,that happens with SWTOR dialogue sometime Option reads "I'll help you" Dialogue says "I'll help you---die faster" as you forgot to check the alleigance.
This REALLY made the game seem far less intimidating. Ive loved KOTOR ever since it came out in 2003, and I’ve always wanted to experience the story of SWTOR, but couldn’t get into the MMO style of gaming. My character in SWTOR sat at level 2 for years until I watched this. Now in 2 days I’m at level 15 and progressing quickly! Not only has this helped me understand and be able to experience SWTOR, but it’s helped me become interested in MMOs ❤ thank you so much for this tutorial!!
Could we get a free to play player inventory management guide? I saw bits and pieces scattered and dont see a particular video for new players and their inventory.
It's so awesome that SWTR still have new players every day and even more awesome seeing Veterans playing after all this years and updating guides for the new players ❤️🔥 pls don't let this community die
The Skywalker saga is getting boring at this point especially with Disney running it all. The old republic era is so much cooler imo and has so much potential. Thousands of Jedi and Sith in their prime going at each other is awesome and much better than what Disney puts out these days
I just started in the past couple days-just nvr tried it for w.e random reason prolly cause I rlly wanted Kotor 3 at the time. Regardless I'm enjoying it as a laid back approach to an mmo which is what I'm usually looking for.
Definitely choose a stealth class as your second "Style". SWTOR has a lot of nuisance mobs that will waste your time with meaningless fights and it's hard to avoid them without stealth. Avoiding these encounters really helps keep the game enjoyable
@@victorraymond3420 mannn classic swtor when it first came out listening to drake take care on repeat as zergs of new players shit on every zone absolute kino take me back
THANK YOU SO MUCH for clearly articulating important key words. I can tell the effort you put behind your pronunciations and cadence to make us audiophiles who learn from listening rather than watching so happy!!!
Coming back to the game after not playing for about 7 years. It's still so much fun and I'm REALLY thankful for all your contributions. Especially armors, mounts, and stronghold info. I'm hoping to find a community and learn... there's so much content and I don't know much!
For the new players, with companions you’ll mainly want to use your companion as a healer, but sometimes it is best switching them to tank when you are fighting a strong solo enemy. The enemy’s focus will revert to your companion instead of you.
Yeah, that tripped me out when I came back to the game last month. After 10 years. SO MUCH has changed, especially the combat trees, which I had thoroughly studied and memorized and then seeing how it is now.. Oof. Everyone and the guild community I built is long gone now. Had like 10,900 CCs saved up beause I left my sec.key on, so that was a big incentive to return LOL
I honestly don't know what I would have done without Swtorista! Your tutorials are the best out there! Very informative and easy to follow your instructions. I've watched others and I get lost in over information or over descriptions. I just started last month, don't know why it took me so long haha, I love star wars! But anything I have had questions on or needed to search for answers I have found on your TH-cam and your awesome webpage! Thank you so much for your hard and dedicated work!
Some other nice tips I have found useful are: You can take the shuttle to fleet as soon as level 7, and the Crafting Mission there will get you level 8 or close to it. You can also visit the Adaptive Gear Vendor (Supplies Section) there and buy/start to buy already modded armor sets/weapons (roughly 2k credits, if I recall, for everything). I would also recommend people sub even once, because while subbed, you can make classes with those "locked" races first, and then you can keep playing them even after the sub ends, which makes it easier to unlock them for your Legacy.
Pro Tip - if you have tons of credits like me but can't access them without premium just pay for a month and kit out a bunch of characters, all my characters got their own cute outfit and weapons now! I did this a year ago and haven't felt the need to spend money on the game since.
Hi, I am a returning player from many years ago. Lots has changed. Thank you for, without a doubt, the most comprahensive guide for new players (and me) lol. Glad to be back, lots to do now.

One thing I'll also put here! Some enemies (I think they have to be strong rank or higher) can be harvested with crew skills just like the nodes all around the map. Of note I've seen droids who can be scaveneged, and monster/beasts who can be taken apart Very useful for someone who wants a lot of credits. Just go Scavenge/Bioanalysis/Slicing as your crew skills and rake in that cash!
Great guide again, thank you! 5:18 one thing I'd like to add to number 14 is to only Reset the mission, never Abandon them! Unlike most mmorpgs, if you Abandon a mission in SWTOR, many are gone for good unless you find someone who has the quest and can share it with you. This does include purple Planetary story quests so be careful!

Tip: Some of the best stories might be in classes you wouldn't even think of playing. I'm a very goody two-shoes person, and a Jedi fanboy. I immediately wanted to do the Jedi Knight type character, and even more than that just the Republic in general. However after playing (almost) all the stories, the ones I enjoyed the most where NOT what I expected. The Imperial Agent is hands down my favorite, AND I even played it as a full light side good character, who was just out to protect her people. I also very much enjoyed the Sith Inquisitor as well, again playing the light side good guy character was really fun and impactful. It isn't just an RP decision. The Jedi Counselor was also really great. My point here is break out of your typical shell and try the others. Honestly everyone should experience all eight stories at some point because you just don't know what you might be missing.
Played this back in 2013 and stopped once i hit lvl 50 jedi guardian and right before the hutt cartel expansion and finally got back to it again recently on Steam. Feels good
I havent played the game since the infamous Ilum lagfest pvp madness at launch(max level was 50 back then if i remember right). This vid is REALLY good for understanding the fundamentals since the game has changed completely over the years. Thanks!
I recently started playing again, I originally started during beta and I stop playing for about 10 years. The game is extremely overwhelming for me even with my previous experience, so I can't imagine how a new player would feel. This guide will be a great help for them though, so thank you for that.
even as a beta player (if you want to call it beta) who started playing this day 1 since i couldnt play Galaxies anymore. i needed a star wars game to fill the void. ive taken breaks here and there. for upwards of about 5 months or so. and even i found some of these tips very helpful

You have help me out a lot. Come back to game 2 years a go. I can now use the outfit setting now (now my characters look the way I wish) and some other thing which I did not under stand or wrong. So thank you for making the game better for me to play.
21:13 I've played on and off since the beta, it never occurred to me that you could deconstruct gear that way. I enjoy mixing sets, and the most annoying part of making a new character was always deleting all the pieces of the copied gear I didn't want to use for anything. So thank you! :D
the single best thing about this game, is EVERYTHING IS VOICE ACTED... I would have 0 issues with games removing "voice customization" from games as long as I get to hear my character talk
31:35 A helpful shortcut to use in Windows without searching for sniping tool is to press "Windows Key + Shift + S" and a cursor will pop up for you to drag the exact area you want to copy and the paste onto your preferred platform as an image.
I bought the game back in 2011. Played a whole ton and had alot of fun. And through the years I have again and again come back to it. To this day I still really much enjoy it. I'm getting starting for the first time once I get home from work today with my best friend/husband. I'm a completely new player and he played a bit in 2014. Our typical MMO of choice is Final Fantasy XIV but we've talked about playing SWTOR together for years. Thank you so so much for this! It's an amazing resource. Would you ever consider releasing a document version as well, for ease of searching key terms? Understandable if not, this is already so great! May the Force be with you. 😊

Been thinking about coming back after I finish replaying the KOTOR games. Was checking out some of your vids to see what's changed, and I would love to see a showcase of all the class' combat animations. No need for rotations or descriptions, I just want to see what all the skills look like.
I'm hoping for an influx of new players, SWTOR really needs to get on their social media game since a lot of people I've found don't even know that SWTOR exists
i played this day one had the collectors edition... played up to the hutt expansion and havent really been back fully since..im looking to give it another go awesome! video!
Doing a review on this game, and I just miss playing this. I'm an on and off type of player with this game, and I keep regretting leaving this game as it is so fun to play.
Every time I come back to this game, I have to go see what you have to say to new and returning players :) also 9:46 Spot on impression of a holocron xD
I use a controller because I have a disability that makes using a mouse difficult. This game actually works extremely well with a controller with Steam.
Ah SWTOR. Every time I come back, and every time I run into the exact same camera bug that causes the camera to flip out and has been around since the first day of launch. And never ever gets fixed. Never change SWTOR.
Hi swtorista, would it be possible to do a video on "things you probably don't want to do" for new players e.g. changing crafting skill resets it, using the reset room button in strongholds often resets more then the room, buying items off the gtn that are sold by vendors, effects of changing chapters or story lines before completion, etc. thank you!
SWTOR is the only game that made me try create an account before downloading the actual game , been struggling for 2 hours to create an account after downloaded it
Glad to see this game still alive and people making videos like this. I’m a 4 months in, 8 months out rotation kind of player so this kind of content really helps me freshen up
Great guide, thanks! Getting back into SWTOR after a 9 year absence and I only ever did two of the class story lines so I have so much new content to explore. It's a little intimidating jumping back into this game that I barely played to begin with but I am as in love with the Star Wars universe as I ever was.
I got my Beta key at Eurogamer way back in the day. I haven't played in probably over a year now, but I'm considering a return. Wish we could get playable Kel'Dor as shown in the original announcement footage!
Hi just wanted to say that I had tried like a few times before and never got very far cuz was lost and confused but thanks to this video I say last night I decided to try it again and thanks to you which now I feel foolish to how simple it was to change I started again with a new character Jedi which WOW Im enjoying it so much hahahaha wont lie still feel alittle lost but I appreciate your guides and how easy it was for old not so smart guys like me can understand 😅 so just wanted to say thank you and hope to keep learning from you and having fun
I really wish I didn't stop playing. I played juggernaut upon release, got to battlemaster armor. Used to be the best PVP gear if I remember right. Started an assassin a couple years later, maxed and stopped again. and repeated with BH. Haven't gone back in around 6 years now. Might have to start another at Insomnia for multiple days of time to play
I left WoW and played SWtoR at launch but left due to a lack of time. I'm thinking of going back, hence why im here, but I find the graphics jarring. No update to it in 11-ish years! I'll give it a free play and see if it's as enjoyable as I remember, but I'm already doubting I can stare at the game for hours a day. I hooe I'm wrong. Your videos have been very useful, thanks.
Just got back into this game, it’s been so long, thinking about making a fresh character, probably trooper, any tips on what to choose for a play style?
Thank you for everything you do. As an original player back in 2011, I've taken years of breaks from this game, and you have made it easy for me to understand the changes that have happened while I was gone.

Every time I come back to this game, I have to go see what you have to say to new and returning players :)
also 9:46 Spot on impression of a holocron xD
I havnt seen a academy vid since 2022, im happy to learn you still continue it
I use a controller because I have a disability that makes using a mouse difficult. This game actually works extremely well with a controller with Steam.
i think you forgot to input the datacron sound lol. i love it
Ah SWTOR. Every time I come back, and every time I run into the exact same camera bug that causes the camera to flip out and has been around since the first day of launch. And never ever gets fixed. Never change SWTOR.
I justed started the game today and this was rly helpful thank you
Hi swtorista, would it be possible to do a video on "things you probably don't want to do" for new players e.g. changing crafting skill resets it, using the reset room button in strongholds often resets more then the room, buying items off the gtn that are sold by vendors, effects of changing chapters or story lines before completion, etc. thank you!
Thank you this was really useful ! Outfitters is very confusing looking for videos for help
cheers!
SWTOR is the only game that made me try create an account before downloading the actual game , been struggling for 2 hours to create an account after downloaded it
Glad to see this game still alive and people making videos like this. I’m a 4 months in, 8 months out rotation kind of player so this kind of content really helps me freshen up
I never really paid attention to the outfitter but thanks to you i still look the same but have better stats, thank you 😊
Just started last week videos have definitely helped get thought all the systems.
Great guide, thanks! Getting back into SWTOR after a 9 year absence and I only ever did two of the class story lines so I have so much new content to explore. It's a little intimidating jumping back into this game that I barely played to begin with but I am as in love with the Star Wars universe as I ever was.
Love the game. Thank you for all your help and information.
❤❤❤
Love Consular even when sabotaging the Imperials.
May the Force be with you!
About to jump back in again, thanks for the thorough video!
Glad to see the same passion for Star Wars❤
Class stories in this game are top tier!
Just got back into this game, it’s been so long, thinking about making a fresh character, probably trooper, any tips on what to choose for a play style?
Always good to brush up on the basics
Just started. Wishing I started when I was younger.
Windows Key+Shift+S also lets you snip a smaller screenshot without having to open a separate tool :)
Thank you for making great swtor videos!
Thank you. Some advices works even for older players. :)
bro very useful video, thank you. i start playing today, and lost track of 10 hours while playing. ahah
very cool game.
