In Persona 1, Brown had a female for his initial Persona.
In Persona 2, Yuka's Ultimate Persona, Freyr, is a male Norse God.
In Persona 3, Ken's initial Persona is Nemesis, the Greek Goddess of Revenge.
In Persona 4, all of Naoto's Personas are male.
And in Persona 5, Futaba's evolved Persona is Prometheus, a male Titan.

Exactly first playthrough of royale I am at 120 hours and I am in late november.
I did 60 hrs.
Persona 5 royal was literally the best game I have ever seen. My brother and I bonded through his play through, which I never missed an hour of. The music is incredible, the plot and character development is priceless, and the ending cutscenes will make you suicidal because this game is so incredibly amazing. UGH THE CREDITS MUSIC MAKES ME SO DEPRESSED WHY
Facts
Once I finished the game for the first time and keep in mind PSR was the first time I played persona 5, I literally got depressed and didn’t know what to do with my life anymore.
BUT THENNNN I found out that strikers just came out and add never been happier.
Post persona depression. Currently penduling between coping with it by replaying p5 and maxing out all confidants (and dating sumire) and coping with it by replaying p3fes for the first time in a decade. P3 is a very important game, to me and I don't remember much but the emotions felt so it's a bit of a frightening prospect.

(tw depression) Forgive me if this is oversharing but I wanna say a couple things about what this game did for me. I came into p5 irl hella depressed, anxious, and basically spiraling.
By the time I finished my playthrough several weeks later, I felt happy, more confident, and literally excited about living, an emotion I haven’t felt in years. Watching these characters process the trauma they’re subjected to and exploring the Jungian concepts within the story for myself gave me perspective to process my own. I can’t overstate how game-changing that has been.
My first exposure to p5, really to the series as a whole, has been this video. If it wasn’t for buns and their (? sorry hope I got your pronouns right) insanely entertaining presentation, I never would have picked up the title.
So from the bottom of my heart, buns , Tyler, fucking thank you. You *literally* saved my life.
To anyone suffering from depression of mental health conditions, take it from me, it really does get better. Took me the better part of my life so far, but you really do start to feel happier, and life does start to feel worth living.
Even if everything seems grey and empty right now and you really can’t see how that could be possible for you, it is, and you will experience it. Get good counseling (working with mine laid the foundation for everything I wrote about at the start), and pick yourself up 15,000 times if you have to (16,435 for me-yes that is accurate). Just keep waking up, just keep fighting. Love you all.
Something I'd like to bring up in relation to the whole topic of mental health at least is that there's actually a lot of benefits in both your mental and physical health by getting some exercise in at least everyday. Nothing crazy like some ultra hardcore bodybuilder weightlifting regimen mind you, but even something as simple as a 30 minute walk can do wonders for both physical health as well as mental. Hell (as I attempt to steer my topics back to the subject of the video,lol), I'd argue that playing Persona 5 in your spare time throughout the day on top of the daily dose of exercise and just generally taking care of yourself can do nothing but good in the long run.
Then again what do I know, I'm just some random goober on the internet, lol.
I’m glad I saw this comment cause 1) I’m so happy you’re feeling better! 2) This proves that video games aren’t just mindless time wasters for everyone, they can help in surprising ways. Persona 5 is such a great game! It’s one of the only games I’ve completed 100% of the trophies.

Important tips for your first time playing Royal:
Try to max out Ryuji. The skill you get from him makes the game a lot easier.
Guns are a lot more useful here than in vanilla. Still not the best way to deal damage, but now more a viable option.
The Reaper trick that buns noted here is not in Royal. Don't go in expecting to be able to cheese it.
There are a few characters not in this video, that are in royal. Youll notice them cause they're story important too.. Try to max them out, as they are what make Royal what it is. Just trust me on this.

@Michael T No, the best way to do it, is by working on the bonds at the same time, since they won't all be available on the same days

I actually always complete the Palace as soon as it's given to me. I started doing this after I discovered that getting tired in Mementos isn't a thing in this game. Once I'm done I'm free to use the 10+ days to boost my stats and social links.

I've found that the best dream team is Ryuji, Yusuke, and Mona. Because Ryuji and Yusuke use their HP to do more damage with melee attacks, and Mona can heal, that saves a LOT more SP for Joker, which also helps you go longer without needing to leave and come back. Plus, Joker can just fuse personas for every missing element type. So the heavy physical hitters that don't use up your SP are very useful for clearing out dungeons.

That messed me up too. Everyone said Mementos is optional and just for sidequests and the main palaces are the main dungeons but if anything Mementos is the main dungeon and the palaces are side stories.
Focus on maxing out your social score with the teacher as soon as possible, Ryuji will initiate your interactions with her using a flyer, do that immediately no mater what else you have going on that day, then only pass on her days if Akechi is available or your social skills aren't high enough, she gives you the ability to visit a castle or the subway in the afternoon, and then socialize in the evening
5 years and a whole playthrough later, this is still one of the best videos ever uploaded to TH-cam

Literally ANYONE can have useful perks to contribute. Kawakami can pass time for you while you're doing your Phantom Thievery, Futaba can help you navigate Mementos and give your party a Masukukaja buff, Ichiko helps you stay in Palaces longer, and Sojiro allows you to make SP-restoring items that are a HUGE help!
Edit: Futaba doesn't just cast Masukukaja. She can apply a wide range of buffs, and heal or restore a fraction of HP or SP to your party.

Coming back to this excellent video and having beat this game a few times now and going through Royal, gotta say that I am very impressed with the very funny and not so subtle spoilers that are littered throughout. I sincerely appreciate the SBB comedy style. Makes me laugh every time.
just to note:
I've beaten P5 twice now and recently reached the 200 hour mark (The game kinda stole my heart (hehe) over the last month)
I've encountered a hostage situation a grand total of ONE TIME
Edit: I have now beaten P5R and it only happened one more time
I just finished my second playthrough with a total playtime of around 230 hours and I still have yet to have anybody taken hostage. It's the last trophy I need for the platinum as well >.>
well i bought the game last week and finished the first palace. i got into a hostage situation 3 times. and i only have 8 hours of gameplay. I'm playing at Normal Btw. i guess is suck at protecting my party
Bring your shit party member (Makoto works best) and get hit by psy skills. Seriously, this one can't dodge for shit cause balanced stats. At least the en stat is kinda OK so she survives if it's not merciless.
I've encountered it twice. Once on accident, and once on purpose for the trophy.
It happened to me once and I was in auto pilot mode so Ann was grabbed and I just spammed X and she got KO lmao I just used the rez ability and moved on, tho I wish I got the trophy

I was 70 hours by palace 6 from that point to the end game I made it to 104. I was shocked

278 hours and 15 minutes is how long it shows for my first playthrough :') Starting ng+ with my finish time being carried over, I'm now at 379 hours and 7 minutes and barely on my way to starting Okumura's Palace :") So yeah, that's 101 hours and 8 minutes for this ng+ so far... At least I'm at level 40 though

I felt like the final palace was pretty obvious after that buffet scene. I mean, the guy in that scene and the guy from the flashback look really similar. After that scene, it didn’t take even 30 seconds to figure out who our final boss was. The one I didn’t see coming was the 6th palace, whose owner got spoiled for me by TH-cam recommendations of all things.
I know this came out years ago but just wanted to watch it again as the editing and the jokes are just 10/10
