I'm honestly convinced at this point that when KH3 comes out, that beating it normally will just lead to semi satisfying cliffhanger. And that beating it on the hardest difficulty, maybe even requiring full completion, instead of getting the good ending you actually get a bad end. After which, upon loading back to the title screen the name of the game has changed to Kingdom Hearts 3.1 where playing again has some new side content and story bits available. Beating that just leads to yet another iteration with a title change and some more side content each time unit you get up to something like 3.9 final mix or whatever and unlock an even more grim ending... and then it either becomes KH4 with a completely new storyline with no new game plus carry overs or teases that KH4 is going to be a thing down the line.
Kingdom 3... D ... cuz it's on 3Ds... and has 3 "D" in the title... and you play with people patience for KH3... Square Enix... *sigh* Well played. It's evil but well played.
