Been watching you for years man and I still appreciate your stewardship of the fish and even sea turtles! Also appreciate the knot advice too. You never seem too big to explain the simple things. Keep it up man I will continue to subscribe. Safe travels!
Next time your at Huguenot try that wade fishing that bay on the backside of the beach. Full of reds, trout and flounder. I’ve even seen tarpon in there.
Mummichogs - trapped thousands as a kid to fish mainly for flounder where I grew up. Fond memories of eels and crabs raiding the traps overnight. Memory lane. Great vid Rich
Hey rich awesome first leg to your trip! I’m native to the Charleston area, I can tell you I have never personally snagged a turtle like that. That last red was gorgeous, nothing like the fight of a BULL red drum. 🥁
Great story on those jetties right there, it’s really hit or miss out there, on full moon, I caught a slot, size trout, slot, size flounder, and a donkey, Jack, but coming back the tide was high and I had to get rescued. I could’ve made it, but it would’ve taken all my energy. I got really scraped up by the rocks. Still scarred to this day.
Rich me and my kids have watched you and purchased your merch since RI. Love you and your channel! Question: for all your reels other than your Van Staal: do you take them apart regularly and dry and clean them? We wondered because you can get pretty wet at times. Please stay online!! Tight lines! Dave
if you ever have to the time while you are in Charleston, i just picked up a old town PDL 106. would love to learn from the man that inspired this move down to the coast and learn this crazy world of saltwater fishing. keep it up Richie , you are the man
I live on Hutchinson island now because of your videos and my love for fishing! I have been hoping to run into you at some point and get some tips and spots from you!!
Believe it or not slack tide, usually around low, is the best time for reds I've found at the jetties. You know the bites off when the black seabass start biting lol. Also, mullet are here for bait.
If you're gullet hooking redfish a lot, which happens since they're quick to inhale a bait, I found that inline circles do a much better job at corner hooking. The offsets just catch deep sometimes even with a quick set. Fish on!
That was awesome, good job on the turtle. So earlier this year I ended up back in Law Enforcement in NE Tennessee moving from Illinois instead of my enrollment in MMI in Orlando. It was just too expensive to live and move to Florida right now. So We are only 5hrs from Charleston SC down Interstate 26, as I live right off 26 in TN. We are going to make that our spot to start taking weekend trips with the boys to fish saltwater. Where you fishing there?, we are going to be looking for a not too populated spots to go fishing.
Awesome adventure! these are great videos...I'm from your old stomping grounds in Monmouth Cty NJ, now living in the Sarasota FL area, trying to get more time to get out fishing over on the west coast.... best of luck the rest of the way
What a wonderful video. ❤ I was so excited when you got that crab, that last redfish was a true rebel! hahaha 🥹 And I just have to say, the drone shots 🤌🏻 maravilhoso!!
Awesome video brother where u gonna fish in Myrtle u doing Murrells again. I use to help relocate sea turtle nest I think you the best thing for the turtle thanks for doing that. Anytime u r in Murrells inlet hollar and we will fish it brother
Hey dude I’m from Jax if you’re still there check out Singleton‘s restaurant right in Mayport just down the road from the ferry not a tourist spot but killer food 👍👍
Love your videos... what kind of sock did you put on before you went out on the Jacksonville fishing trip...I need something like that when I put my wading suit on.
I recently moved to NC so I am hoping I get some pointers where to go fishing with your next few vids. Thanks for these videos and tips! What a crazy snag with a crab! Definitely best bait for Reds for sure I think, other than maybe a mud minnow. Tight lines!
Enjoy watching your videos my friend!!! Looking to head up to Jacksonville in the fall. What location or beach was that where the jettys are located? Also, cool looking bracelet you have on. Mnd sharing where you purchased?
When you get to NC if you want do some inshore stuff from a boat, let me know! I'll trade my boat with your knowledge of actually knowing how to fish well.
You handled that sea turtle really well!

I say the same thing, reds are bulldogs. Nothing pulls to the bottom more than maybe the black drum. Good fishing.

Space coast got plenty Reds Pound for pound yes they fight harder casting or jigging gold Johnson spoon works for me.
