Shoutout to the original five because obviously the show wasn’t known when they were out in public at this point and was probably much weirder to the bystanders than any other season
Frank would only have approached that pie task like that in the very first series. Nowadays we know that Alex will put anything and everything inside anything and everything just to catch people out. Frank had no reason to believe they wouldn’t be conventional pie fillings bc Taskmaster wasn’t a thing before he did it 😂🥧
I had an idea that wouldn’t offend anyone for the 55 task. Simply ask people if they KNOW anyone that is 55. If they say, “Yes, it’s me” then you’re good.
I‘m with Romesh on the pie. He didn‘t breach it. There was no continuity of pie throughout the bottom, it was already breached in the first place, but not by him. He never disrupted the pies integrity. I think topology agrees with me ^^
I’ve watched a bunch of Taskmaster, but never Series 1 before. It’s quickly become clear that Tim is the forefather of “let me dissect every word of this task to see if there’s a loophole”
at first I thought, 45 mins is way too long for such a show/concept. It'll get boring/predictable, it'll feel like more of the same, or it will just be too much to keep intently focused on, while still being amused by it. But here I am, bingeing the 3rd episode in a row (a season 2 episode apparently got me hooked good). Excellent execution, too bad they censor the bad language, though ;)
I thought the prizes were gonna be silly junk every time, this dude is putting up a leather party hat? I'd be wearing that bad boy to the champagne party I'd be throwing in Falador!
Whatever you care about the false charity use, that was by far the kindest approach for the random person. He could and should have just said it was for comedy tv, but everyone else was quite rude. By far the best way is to high five first, so theyre agreeing to engage, then just ask them in a friendly way how old they are.
I still get "Tree Wizard" stuck in my head every time I pass someone with a beard while hiking. Which is a lot. The crossover between "people with beards" and "people who hike" is surprisingly high.
Last year, first time round I watched this series I've been mostly bewildered at what nonsensical yet somehow still very watchable show I had found. Now, the second time round I'm almost pissing myself laughing a mere six minutes into the episode. Bravo, Alex Horne and Greg Davies. Thank you!
I listened to a podcast last night in which Alex Horne was the guest. He said they did the pilot and then all sat down together and decided it was crap. So they turned it around in 24 hours by everyone putting their heads together and coming up with solutions. I am so glad they did. Also, they are taping series 18 now!
This really cheered me up in an unexpected way. I've seen all the episodes before but I can't remember when I watched series 1 last. I did my first marathon on Sunday and it didn't go well. I trained very hard for it, 5 runs a week for the last 4 months and I had a bad day at the office and struggled way sooner than I should have. But I did finish and got the medal I'm actually a bit devastated by how it went, and was trying to cheer myself up with taskmaster and I completely forgot about this prize task. So it cheered me up that even though I'm disappointed, a marathon medal is more impressive achievement than winning celebrity countdown or catching a hat that was thrown over a bus
The dynamic of having the show’s creator pretend to be a servant is incredible.

Treewizard might not be the most profound, but many a year later it's still the most loved
If the pie is broken when you walk in, and lifting it shows how broken it is, it was broken
But was it breached
The beauty of Horn having to eat the revolting pies he helped engineer cannot be overstated.
the timing of "papa don't breach" is fucking impeccable
Shoutout to the original five because obviously the show wasn’t known when they were out in public at this point and was probably much weirder to the bystanders than any other season
Frank would only have approached that pie task like that in the very first series. Nowadays we know that Alex will put anything and everything inside anything and everything just to catch people out. Frank had no reason to believe they wouldn’t be conventional pie fillings bc Taskmaster wasn’t a thing before he did it 😂🥧
I love how they used that iconic memorable scene as the start of their intro.
I had an idea that wouldn’t offend anyone for the 55 task. Simply ask people if they KNOW anyone that is 55. If they say, “Yes, it’s me” then you’re good.
Genius lol wow
You are definitely going to go far in life that’s for sure 😂
The way I first watched this over a year ago and never thought of this
But then if someone says yes and it isn't them, you just cut it off there with a quick "condolences" and move on.
I'd go "hi, l'm doing a survey, do you mind telling me your age?"
Dear Taskmaster Channel,
I think you're doing a very professional job
Please keep the episodes coming
Thank you.
I‘m with Romesh on the pie. He didn‘t breach it. There was no continuity of pie throughout the bottom, it was already breached in the first place, but not by him. He never disrupted the pies integrity. I think topology agrees with me ^^
If it was breached, gravity did it not him. Same for Josh and the peas pie.
Can we acknowledge the sportsmanship of Roisin gesturing to Romesh when Greg said he couldn't separate the two?
As an American, I would just yell “Who’s 55?” This only works because this is a British show. Legitimately, that was the quietest mall I’ve ever seen.
The incredible "backwards task" from Romesh. Absolutely his shining moment for me. I still sing it sometimes. Too bad he never thought of a pin.
Alex in the studio scrunching up his eyes while watching himself bite into the toothpaste pie is endlessly amusing to me. Hahahahaha!
To be honest “tree wizard” is the best thing I’ve seen all year
"How much to go back to first ?" This guy is hilarious !
I love how Tim is suspected of cheating every task now even if he doesn’t cheat
Because he normally cheats
I’ve watched a bunch of Taskmaster, but never Series 1 before. It’s quickly become clear that Tim is the forefather of “let me dissect every word of this task to see if there’s a loophole”
"They breached the toothpaste pies" the already cut-out crusts fell off when Josh and Romesh picked up the pies.
the tiny smirk from Gregg at the start of the credits is seriously attractive, i've gotta say~
at first I thought, 45 mins is way too long for such a show/concept.
Best thing is they barely ever repeat tasks.
They just do that on TH-cam. Try to find it somewhere else and it's not censored and you can watch all 9 Seasons.
Here I am, binging 3 seasons of the show hahah
Honestly 45 minutes isn't enough! Each season has great chemistry between everyone that the banter is so natural it reminds me of my friend group!
They stopped censoring them midway through series 4
She was even reading the book backwards in reverse. Truly stunning.
18:27 Romesh's single clap is the most hilarious reaction I have seen to the scores on taskmaster
i hadn't noticed that lmaooo
Where were they looking for a 55-year-old that people didn't recognize them? I would've been a bit more excited to be approached by Frank Skinner.
Part of me expected Frank to just high-five himself, as that seemed like it'd work.
Melvin Pepperdash it was Eden shopping centre in High Wycombe
@@entropiCCycles he was 58 i think, its mentioned in either this ep or the first one. still would have been closer than rommish
These are so very rewatchable. This is probably my fourth time watching this series and I still enjoy it so much.
Frank is so wholesome
They chose the right cast for the first series because these chaotic comedians is what made me love Task Master 3 years ago.
Frank running after the pram after doing the math for high fives is why I love this show
37:55 is absolutely my favourite part of the entire episode
I would be lying if I said I never got that song stuck in my head.
I thought the prizes were gonna be silly junk every time, this dude is putting up a leather party hat? I'd be wearing that bad boy to the champagne party I'd be throwing in Falador!
WZRD702 hah! I knew it was from RuneScape.
Whatever you care about the false charity use, that was by far the kindest approach for the random person. He could and should have just said it was for comedy tv, but everyone else was quite rude. By far the best way is to high five first, so theyre agreeing to engage, then just ask them in a friendly way how old they are.
29:36 - I CANT BELIEVE HE SWALLOWED THE TOOTHPASTE! 😧😲
Thank you!
Same thing for me! Found this show after looking for Noel Fielding stand-up. It's so great.
Screw Netflix im binge watching this durning quarantine
oh man its sad that I can relate to that 7 months after you posted it.
Same
@@GlitterGremlyn and I can relate to yours 9 months after you posted it… for a grand total of 16 months 😭
@@EmmaForman28 9 more months, mate
When they said 'pie' I was expecting fruits and Frank kept suggesting 'steak'. What is going on with the Brits.
S3thc0n Our fruit pies are usually called tarts not pies. Pies are savoury.
@@lorrainecc99 Interesting, thanks for the info! Learned something again :)
Meat pies are the only pies worth eating
@@MadManMatrix the only good meat pie is a chicken pot pie
@@ihateladymacbeth8170 You have obviously never been to Britain then!
hey.... papa, dont breach
Is that what she said?
I don’t get it
Young_ Zombling_ Papa don’t preach is a common idiom/saying.
@@shadypalmtree2989 it's a very famous song by Madonna...
@@GroovingPict that's where I recognized it from! Thanks
I listened to a podcast last night in which Alex Horne was the guest. He said they did the pilot and then all sat down together and decided it was crap. So they turned it around in 24 hours by everyone putting their heads together and coming up with solutions. I am so glad they did. Also, they are taping series 18 now!
Now an American would have started running around yelling and asking for a 55 year old
The backwards task was way funnier than I expected. Frank's two push ups and the Tree Wizard made me laugh out loud 😭
But I did finish and got the medal
I'm actually a bit devastated by how it went, and was trying to cheer myself up with taskmaster and I completely forgot about this prize task.
So it cheered me up that even though I'm disappointed, a marathon medal is more impressive achievement than winning celebrity countdown or catching a hat that was thrown over a bus
29:08 it is currently 1 AM and I am laughing so hard over the only fact that he smashed like a buzzer button that pie
Tim's high five task is one of the most feel good moments on the show. Even if it was a tiny bit underhanded
This is probably the funniest TV show I've watch
