In an unexpected turn of events, this ended up being out finale! (We'll be back to 100% act 3 in a later playthrough)

That Flaming Fist guy has the look of a back up character. i had them as well even though i had saved a couple of people who would have better served that roll and were in that room.
Completely agree that the ending could have been better, in my first playthrough my last 3 quests got bugged (Baldur's Mouth, underwater prison and steelwatch/gondians one) and after trying everything, I had to abandon them and start the final battle, in which my party absolutely face rolled every encounter (normal difficulty) and then in the end Gale somehow was super angry with me despite max approval, Astarion just ran off without anyone saying anything, then Karlach thing happend AND THEN my Tav/Shadowheart scene got bugged too, so all in all I was left with a bitter aftertaste and felt a little bit sad. Still, the game is definitely fantastic, one of the best I've ever played.

had Shadowheart as a Tempest with mostly Thunder gear the save debuffs paired with frost mage Gale throwing ice around was kinda gross
That Karlach ending is tragic 😮 had a different option having romanced her.
Githyanki ending so perfect that it deleted the two istiks from the final cutscene. 🧂
