lol you dorks need to watch more movies. It’s all marvel/action slop. He was in knives out post avengers, as the literal main villain and that movie was amazing. Critically acclaimed too. You just aren’t very bright

I dont understand why theyre releasing Red One in theaters. Its gonna bomb like crazy and be a black mark on The Rock's box office star power, which already has been in decline, due to his horrific choices over the last half decade especially
They shouldve just thrown this exclusively to streaming so that they could then lie about it being the most watched movie of all time or whatever

I honestly thought it was a streaming movie until the trailer dropped. Might as well scrape whatever money they can get from it at the box office instead of making no money from it by dumping it on a streamer.
@@ZachBobBob Yeah and I'm generally all for that. But when it's a movie like this, that is almost certainly gonna be a 13% on Rotten Tomatoes stinker, if I'm one of the actors or producers or anything, I would want this straight to streaming to save face
I was assuming The Penguin was one of the Sunday night slated shows, when someone said it's a Max original not HBO, my mind was blown. Even though it's DC I was under the impression it was like a Watchmen situation, and there's no way they wouldn't put it in it's acclaimed time slot

I'm pretty sure the Russo Bros said in various interviews that they wanted to focus on their own AGBO production house and are busy for this decade. If what you are saying is true then this was Feige's biggest mistake of all time which he would regret forever. Money shouldn't be an issue for Marvel cuz they'll make it back. They're throwing $$$ like crazy on Disney+ shows.
Bad take on Chris Evans imo John. Certainly his recent stuff outside of marvel hasn’t been great. But his got a quality filmography outside of that. He was fantastic in knives out, not just good. Great in Snowpiercer. Very charming in Before we go (which he directed). Really good in Puncture, Push, Losers, Scott Pilgrim. He’s got excellent sense for comedy. He definitely needs to chose better roles with more prestigious directors. He’s got the talent for it. Red One and Ghosted were some nice easy post marvel paychecks for sure. I’m looking forward to what Celine song can bring out of him. Great show fellas!
As far comic con and Marvel I am betting they announce whatever their "NEW" calendar slate is for however many movies they are willing to announce into the future, with that I am betting there will be a lot of rescheduling. I bet Thunderbolts moves to Fantastic Four's date (July 2025) and Fantastic Four moves to Blade's date (Nov 2025) and Blade gets re-dated for some time between Feb-May 2026. I also bet that Avengers 5 (Kang Dynasty?) gets moved into 2027 or maybe even 2028 and possibly re-titled and they will announce Iron Man 4: Armor Wars with Don Cheadle as the lead and Robert Downey Jr. guest starring in some capacity (hologram AI) as a supporting character for summer 2026 with Shang Chi-2 rounding out the 2026 schedule. Blade, Iron Man 4, Shang-Chi 2 would be a strong 2026 year for Marvel. It also sounds like they are hard at work on a Doctor Strange 3 and Thor 5 but I'm betting those come after the next Avengers movie 2027-2028.
Artificial is the perfect word to describe Red One. That movie looks completely soulless.

I treat men and women the same, but I look at men and women differently. So when it comes to awards, and combining genders in acting, I think it's a silly goose idea. I know there is a big movement that women don't want to be seen as actresses, instead just actors. But to me, there is a reason why we are men and women instead of seen as just people. There is nuance that shows a distinct difference, not in status, but purely biological and every little part of being a man and a woman. Playing female roles is different to playing male roles. That's why it should be seperated. And it gives us more winners which is positive.
Im really interested to see how they label comedies. What will seperate an HBO comedy from a Max comedy
Life After Fighting is one of the very best action films of the year.

I have seen the electric state and it boggles my mind and I don’t see any way ever that it could cost that much money. Couple hundred million sure but 370 I don’t see that much money up on the screen very odd.

Challengers is my favourite movie of the year so far. I think it will remain in my top 10 of all time also. When I think about theatrical experiences, four movies of the past 10 years come to mind instantly: Challengers, Top Gun 2, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Interstellar.

Top 5 of 2024 so far in my personal opinion is Monkey Man, Love Lies Bleeding, Challengers, Dune and Furiosa. I think those are the easy five standouts, frankly.
I thought the Here trailer was really good as a concept-sell I just don't trust bob at this point to pull this off given his recent track record, I *want* it to, though. And on the other trailer front Nosferatu looks rad if I was sony i'd be throwing whatever eggar's asked for to have him do their Bloodborne adaptation if they were smart. In terms of movies I saw Day One and it's good i worry about its box office legs because it's unexpected really sad?
EDIT: 51:38 That took me out well played jeff ha. Also, as per non-binary representation at the oscars whilst I acknowledge it is an interesting thought exercise I think it's mostly a mute point. For instance, lily gladstone is nonbinary and I don't remember anyone even bringing it up? I think people are fussing over nothing for the most part.
I can't wait to watch Red One with my kids. It looks fun.
Budget spending in movies right now is shocking. I know the cost of living and inflation has affected everything and everyone but studios are not learning that ROI is never going to happen when the budget is 3-4x what a lot of average movies should be

It’s the first time they’ve shot in a public area. So yes it’s a bad start for that stuff.
@@JohnRochaSays no leaks from Norway, public place where filming began. No leaks from Atlanta, which still gets hit by leaks and Marvel knows all about that. The fact is Gunn got through 4 months of filming a CBM without any set leaks. That also means we have no clue what they did in Atlanta, the slightest of ideas as to what went on in Norway, and not much context to what’s going on in Cleveland outside of recognizing characters and theorizing.
Grace Randolph has a bias on DC, she's as annoying on it as she was on her opinions about Jessica Chastain. I told her so in commentary to her last video about it, this week.
I like her, but I always tell her she could use some collaboration for her show, because her Movie Math is good, but sometimes she's blinded by her own obsessions.
