I get it! We have made moves that made no sense to those around us (like moving from NY to TN just to escape the politics), but we know in our hearts that what we do for our family is what's best, no matter what anyone else thinks.
Cami, I get it!! My husband and I have owned several homes, fixers, that we work hard on and then sell for various reasons. When we were able to buy my grandparents farm it was a dream for me and I was so excited to get in there and just live. It needed updates and still does, but 11 years later, I have been able to live my life in a more rested state, content with how things are so I can focus on the parts of my life and that of my family that have nothing to do with turning our home into a mini construction zone. I still have dreams for this home but I am not in a hurry. My kids are growing up fast and I want to take time to smell the roses of life with them. The house can wait.
I so understand why y’all made this move. I now live in the home of my dreams, 27 years and counting! My love for Victorian homes began when I was 5 or 6 years old, with my grandparents home. I loved that house, and dreamed of someday having my own. My husband had wanted to move back to the town where he grew up. There was an old Victorian house there that really captured my heart and I would tell him, “Buy me that house and I will move.” We bought that house, signing the papers on our 24th anniversary! We have been renovating it ever since! Never give up on your dreams.
We built a beautiful log home in the mountains, it was beautiful, sold it for 350 acres and a 100 year old farmhouse, we loved it there, my kids, grand kids, raised and showed horses, cattle and pigs, we loved all of it!! Good luck on your new adventure!!
I can't wait to see the new house! It sounds like a dream! I completely agree about being led to your desires. I fell in love the very first time I watched Anne of Green Gables when I was a child and I've longed for the feel of it my entire life. My husband and I just had the opportunity to buy his family home, built by his great grandfather over 100 years ago. It sits on 13 acres. The house looks almost exactly like the Anne of Green Gables house at Prince Edward Island. I pinch myself every day that I get to live and raise my kids here and be a part of this history. Wishing you many happy years in your new home!
Thank you, for glorifying God in what you are doing! As a Christian it is refreshing to see another person who loves the Lord bring glory to God's name!
Thank you for sharing your heart - we've come to the same intersection in our lives and we're the same - we seek the will of God! Yes, He places His desires in us and His timing is always perfect!
I totally get it. My husband and I bought a really run-down older home and we were young and had skills. WE were optimistic we could do the work. The location was great, great yard and good schools. After 4 years of total remodel, were burned out and still had projects. We sold that house and bought a turnkey home and never regretted the move.
After 30 years of buying fixer uppers and transforming them only to move on to another has worn me out. 😂 I am so ready to move into a turnkey home and just enjoy it. There will always be things to do but not stripping woodwork and reglazing windows!
When you announced that you were moving, I was shocked. But as soon as you described the new home, I completely understood. Two years ago, I moved from a townhouse into a 100 year old farm house and couldn’t be happier. Congratulations and all the best to you and your family. 💕
Thank you for sharing with such honesty and wisdom! I totally get the trauma & the value of the experience too! So glad you have this new part of your journey!!! Welcome home!!!!!❤️🙏🏼🙌🏼
God is in this move for His greater purpose and glory. I’ve learned through my walk that when things don’t make sense, God’s actually in the midst while we trust Him to do with the next thing. So happy for you!!!
Wow! What an incredible story! It’s amazing how God delights in blessing and giving to us. Please, please do a video of you and Linda in your new home!!
You’ve touched on so many beautiful points in this video that I won’t comment on them all but I will add that the “trauma” you mentioned is certainly a real thing, the pasture not necessarily needing to be greener to desire a change is a thing and, also, God planting righteous desires, I believe, is also beautiful and inspiring. The experience of life makes these journeys amazing and as long as you can be content and your heart continues to be in a posture ready to receive His blessings and be happy…ahhh, what a joy💙🙏🏻. Enjoy every moment and we will be looking so forward to your continuing to share with us…the keepers of our homes. Thank you for sharing❤
So it seems that you moved because of the charm on this "new" house. Also, it is easier to maintain the land and perhaps eventually be less expensive. I smile that you think of a house from 70s as old. My house was built in 1908, so your new place doesn't seem at all old to me. Good luck as you move forward.
First of all it’s no one’s business the choices you make for you and your family. That being said, my husband and I sold our home we had lived in for over thirty years, the one we raised our family in, the one we had renovated for a run down farmhouse on nine acres of land. But that farmhouse happened to be the one I grew up in, situated on land that had been in the family since the 1800’s. So I totally get you. That pull and desire. This house was vacant, falling down. That part of my family history was doomed. God gave us the desire and the strength to rescue it. We worked, man did we work for over two years. We moved in last June and it has already been such a blessing to us and to others. Was it hard to sell the home we raised our family in? Absolutely! But in making that hard decision we have brought our girls back to their true roots and that is an amazing thing. Chin up sister! God is working all things for your good!
We just did pretty much the same thing. We spent 3 yrs making our dream home in Fl perfect, then found a tiny cottage in the mountains of N ga and fell in love. We sold everything and made the move much to everyone’s shock. It’s been 3 yrs and we still wake up every day thankful that we made the decision. Our family is thriving! Congratulations on following your dream. You won’t regret it☺️
I remember seeing the title of your video that said We Are Moving! I literally sat there with my mouth hanging open wondering of all the scenarios that could have happened. Now, hearing the story, it all makes sense. I can't wait to see your new home. There were too many things about how you got to this place for it not to make sense. I too love older homes but the cottage style sounds like a dream. Now I want to do a drive by. {I live in UT too}. So so excited for your family. Also, exhausted thinking about all it entails but if anyone can do it you guys can. Love you & your channel. So excited for the next episode!❤❤❤
You are very articulate. There was alot to listen to, but you were so articulate in this. Some people will get it and some won't, but you and your husband are very open to God's leading and and being open to His will. Congrats and much blessing. I am very excited to seeing this house and your touches. you will put your touches, whatever those touches on it will be bc you want to make it yours and your family. Enjoy the journey!
So happy for you. I was so sad when I saw you were moving. I loved what you had done with the pole barn. I hope you can do some of the same things. Take your time when fixing the new house . So glad the new house is bigger. The kids needed the space.❤
Glad all is well. Seems this move was meant to be. I totally get it why you and Mr Tidbits made the decision. The new home sounds wonderful. Looking forward to the tour.
The article you read really hit home with me as my husband and I currently live in his grandparents farmhouse that was built in the early 1900’s. There’s SO much potential here and when others think we’re crazy for wanting to fix it up, I LOVE the idea. BUT, what your hairdresser said to you was also profound because I had that EXACT thought this morning…”or I can make it beautiful just the way it is!! ❤
I admit, I couldn’t understand why you would leave your wonderful home, but hearing you speak, I fully understand now, have a blessed life in your new home ❤
So excited for you guys--I can't wait to see your new home and land. I love the takeaways you shared as well--the Lord truly is aware of us and our desires and He can use us for His purposes.
hey girl- I get it to!😉 I am so happy for y'all🥰 and so excited to see the house (inside and out😁) This is so cool👍 Lord knows what he is doing and we have to always trust in him and know that he knows best for our lives. That is just so neat that you have always drove by this house and now you are moving there😊Y'all have a blessed weekend🥰
What a wonderful story .❤ I can’t wait to see your new home. In your last video I was thinking you were going full time in a RV. 😂😂 I look forward to seeing how you make this home your own. ❤️❤️ Congratulations ❤️
We did the same thing! Built our forever home ourselves and then moved to family farm 3 years later. Have a lot of renovations going on but do not regret the decision one bit!
Wow wow wow!!! So excited for you. Looking forward to the tours. Plus can’t wait to see the touches you will make on your new home. I also am in love with a Queen Anne house that I dreamed of living in. Unfortunately I believe it won’t happen for me because we are being forced to move out soon and it’s off the market at this time. When it was on the market all I did is plan on how to do cosmetic fixtures on it. Plus creating a wonderful garden layout. Sadly, I think I will continue to dream. You are very blessed to have another opportunity to make another dream come true.I’m very happy for you. Thanks for sharing!
This was a wonderful video and enjoyed this so much and am glad you will continue to enjoy each moment with your family. God knows our dreams and He is so good to allow us those dreams can come true. Can't wait to follow you and see.
Congrats! So exciting for you and your family (and very excited to see your upcoming tours and videos)! In the last video, it was difficult to imagine why you would leave your existing [awesome] home, but it makes perfect sense after you explained it. Thank you for sharing this incredible experience (love, love the sweet reminder/lesson at end... Priceless wisdom!) Awww, the refreshing power of dreams and of our awesome God! So awesome!
It’s about seasons of life, or your life’s journey path which is never a straight one and has lots of curves, switchbacks, hills and valley’s as you walk it. Enjoy this season in your life, live n your new home for at least 6 months or a year before making any big updates, because by then, you will know the flow of the home and how your family uses it, paint to refresh, yes, but work with what you have for a year before jumping into any Reno’s. How exciting for all of you!
I totally get it! Thanks for sharing. My husband and I have felt that the Lord is moving us to a different state, leaving behind our adult children and first grandbaby, extended family, beloved church in which we served at various ministries, and the sweet small town my husband grew up in. It is difficult, but we know in our hearts this is what we are supposed to do. I am happy for you and your family!
So kind of you to share why you have moved. I’m sure the new owners of your old house feel so blessed to carry on what you have done! The old owners of your new house must be tickled that your family has taken over stewardship of it!
How exciting!!! What an incredible story! I’m SO happy to hear about your journey!! I can’t wait to see your new home! The last 4 years have been so full of unexpected turns and we don’t know what the Lord has for us yet, so it’s really exciting for me to see what’s going on in your life! Thank you so much for sharing!
One year prior to Covid we decided to relocate to another state. We were both retired and found our cottage. I saw the potential immediately while my husband didn't even want to look at it. We downsized from 12 acres to 7, and have beautiful seasonal gardens, trees and are able to see the Smokey mountains from our back property. A lot of remodeling has gone into the house and we couldn't be happier. You will definitely make this house as beautiful as your last one. Your children will have many memories with their grandparents, and friends. Everything happens for a reason and you will be fine.
Your new home seems to be such a blessing from God. I love a cottage look. It brings such inviting and peaceful fill. I move fro a new home to a home built in the 50’s out of state because of life changes in my family. First I lost my husband with cancer at a young age. Then a few years later one of my sons moved to the town where I am now living and was raising his three children alone since his wife left. I needed to be the babysitter. Many years has passed since then and he remarried and move back to the state we use to live. I feel God has put me here for a reason and being obedient to His will for my life is important. I would love to live near my family but if that is Gods plane for later He will put me where I should be.
I am so very happy for you and your family and I totally get it! I would love being in your shoes and be able to embark on your journey. And I will be, following you on every turn. I can’t wait! Best of blessing to you all!
Funny that I always read the newsletters but actually watched this video of all the videos 🤣🫶🏻 love you, keeper of the dollhouse. You’re doing it just right.
I understand why you are moving 👍 The new home sounds beautiful and exciting! I can’t wait to see some footage of the new home 🏠 Wishing you and your family all the best on your new home journey 😊
What a beautiful story! I hope you can talk Linda into a chat in front of the camera at some point. It would be fun to meet her. Good luck with all you've got going. We'll be right here, waited with baited breath to see your life- long dream house. ❤
Thank you Cami for sharing your story and for your honesty. I was glued to the screen, listening to every detail. I’m happy for you and your family that your joy is being restored. I think I had shared some time ago that we started fostering at the age of 59 and my husband was 63. We felt the Lord was calling us to do this and it has been such a blessing. We thought after the first child left, she was here about 4 years that we were done but last July we were called and asked to take a 6 year old boy into our home. We prayed about it and talked with our pastor and we just knew we had to do it. So maybe the Lord will lead you towards fostering. All the best to you and your family. I can’t wait to see your new home.😀
I totally get it and am jealous! It sounds like such a fun adventure! Congratulations to you and your family! I can't wait to see the magic you work in it! 🙂
I definitely get all that you shared!! And when it’s all said and done, so to speak, and when God is in it, you won’t have any regrets. God bless you & your family richly as you move forward with your new venture! 😊
I’m so glad you’re back in the neighborhood! Steve & I took a drive in the rain Friday. Ended up trying to guess which house is your new home. Still a mystery 😆
Oh my word, after all the pros and cons, I feel that you made a wonderful decision! I can’t imagine how exhausting you would feel at times looking at all that you had yet to do, even though you had already done so much. As a viewer and subscriber, I’m looking forward to seeing the house. I can’t wait. I have an image in my mind and I’m curious to see if it’s anywhere close to what is actual. Congratulations to you and your family! I’m excited for you all. And I realize after watching this I don’t think I’m subscribed to your blog. I don’t know how that happened but I will go make sure I do that.
Just found your channel and I’m excited for you and look forward to following your story as things progress. May the Lord bless you and your family in the new home He has provided to you to steward and enjoy. 😊 🌸
❤Enjoyed this “why we moved “ what a challenge but great adventure. God always has a purpose for our lives but our job is to trust Him and He will provide.
You are such a blessing. I seen your video for the first time last week, and then this video popped up this morning. Ironically, we are going through something so similar. I have felt so torn, so much fear of staying and of leaving. Your video today brought me to tears as I realized that I'm not leaning on faith or trusting God's plan. I need to pray more for the clarity only God can provide and trust whatever that path is. Thank you for opening my eyes to this.
I am delighted to hear my video spoke to you that way. I know its hard to set aside our own feelings, but I know He will guide you too! Wish you the best!
I am so excited and happy for you and your family!! What a beautiful journey and I am looking forward to seeing your new to you home ❤ and also to follow along on this beautiful story!
Thank you for sharing your heart, and I just want to pray blessing upon blessing over your family! I love watching your videos and just can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for you! ❤
Yes, we get it. Planning ahead for ourselves too. Leaving a homestead we created and have cultivated for 30 years. You have so many feelings that are mirrored in our hearts. We can't wait to see the new home, before and as you go along with changes. God Bless and watch over you in your future endeavors.
I totally get it! We have moved a lot over the years, and every time has been for different reasons. My husband and I are also dreamers like you talked about. I love older homes with character too so I can totally relate. I can’t wait to see your new home, and it sounds so lovely with a dreamy garden & landscaping!
I get it now! I was so afraid you were having to move due to some terrible circumstance-a diagnosis or financial reason. Thank you for taking us along on this blessed journey! Wishing you all the best and anxious to see this dreamy home!
The home you built is beyond gorgeous!! Your pantry was to die for. As someone who has moved a bunch, I don't think there is anything that could lure me away from my current home. I can't wait to see this home, and I hope you love it to pieces.
So excited to follow you into this new part of your life. My family has went through a similar situation a few years ago. Blessing to your family & new home.
So exciting. We built our home so I totally get where you are coming from. My husband and I say that if we were a bit younger our dream would be to fix up an older home to live in. So happy that you are able to live out your dream in this home. Great podcast. I know you will make this new house a beautiful home.
So happy for you guys and I’m excited to see what you do with the inside! 😍 When I saw your home listing on Zillow (I wrote to you about this on instagram in a dm) my jaw dropped and I wanted to buy your guys’ home!! 😂😭 Also, when you mentioned your husband building saunas! This is something my husband plans on building for me (hopefully here soon) because we’ve found it to be suuuoer helpful for my hypothyroidism (Hashimotos disease) my fatigue significantly drops and I have more energy for the day when I sit in a sauna. I’m currently going to one at a rec center. Anyways, that could be a helpful tip for your husband’s business because I’m learning that many people who also have Hashimotos disease don’t know the benefits of sitting in a sauna!! ❤️
30 years in our home in RI painstakingly adding charm and gardens, driven out by high taxes, houses on every inch of vacant land and corrupt govt. ...now in Texas starting all over. Once we got over the initial shock of moving, it's really quite freeing. The possibilities are endless. God can see all that we can't and what doesn't make sense to some people, we just really can't concern ourselves with. One day we will see it all. Best wishes and have fun.
I get it! We have made moves that made no sense to those around us (like moving from NY to TN just to escape the politics), but we know in our hearts that what we do for our family is what's best, no matter what anyone else thinks.
Great news for your family! What is a link to the flooring in your camper?? ❤❤❤
Same!!! We moved from CA to east Tn (Chattanooga area) for the same reasons
We moved to TN from MD for the similar reasons.
I left Illinois for Indiana. No regrets what so ever, wish I had done it sooner. ❤
FJB
now I feel ancient because a house built in the 1970's doesn't seem that old to me! ;)
Best of luck in the new home!

So kind of you to share why you have moved. I’m sure the new owners of your old house feel so blessed to carry on what you have done! The old owners of your new house must be tickled that your family has taken over stewardship of it!
So happy that you get to live in the most beautiful home in Cove! Can't wait to see what you do with the inside.
Wow, thanks for sharing! Excited to follow the process. Congratulations Cami! Definitely seems meant to be.
I get it! Looking forward to watching this next chapter in your lives.
I love what you had to say. I feel you are on the right path and God driven.
Enjoyed the video 😊
I am so very happy for you and your family and I totally get it! I would love being in your shoes and be able to embark on your journey. And I will be, following you on every turn. I can’t wait! Best of blessing to you all!
Funny that I always read the newsletters but actually watched this video of all the videos 🤣🫶🏻 love you, keeper of the dollhouse. You’re doing it just right.
My favorite part of this video was the lessons you imparted at the end.
I understand why you are moving 👍 The new home sounds beautiful and exciting! I can’t wait to see some footage of the new home 🏠
Wishing you and your family all the best on your new home journey 😊
So excited for you and your family!!! Sounds dreamy!! Can't wait for the tour!!
Wow Cami, I can’t wait to see this beautiful, charming home! Congratulations again ❤
This story is so enchanting! Looking forward to future videos, Blessed.
Congratulations to you and your family!!! You are doing something you want to do is wonderful!!!!!! Excited to see the new home !!!!!
Wow, what a story, can't wait to hear all about your new adventure, all the best!😊
Love this!! 💕 This was all part of God’s plan for your family!!
Congratulations. Sounds like this is what you were to do. Gods hand is definitely in this. 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for sharing your heart, and I just want to pray blessing upon blessing over your family! I love watching your videos and just can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for you! ❤
I’m so happy for you! God does give us the desires of our hearts!
My hubby does the same with real estate! And i have a few homes that i have told him...if ever...i want it❤
I totally get it!
So excited for you and cannot wait to see your new home!
Looking forward to following this new venture!
I'm so happy for you guys! How exciting!
So happy for you all❣️
This is so awesome! Good for you for following your heart, following the promptings! ❤ So excited to follow along. ❤️🙏🏼
So happy for you all
Cami have you ever thought about becoming a professional storyteller! So happy and excited for you!
I can't wait to see the home that took you away from your dean home, it must be quite something❤
So happy for you all! Blessings for a new chapter!
I can't believe it was on the market for weeks. Homes here are gone in two days! Amazing
I love how you explain and your perspective on this move - very beautiful. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts with us.
Congratulations on your new hone, Cami. Excited for you and your family. ❤
I totally get it!! This is the curveball of life! SO. When do we get to see it???😁
So happy for you guys and I’m excited to see what you do with the inside! ❤️
Love this! I can’t wait to see it. Thank you for your testimony. ❤
Congratulations on your new home ❤
30 years in our home in RI painstakingly adding charm and gardens, driven out by high taxes, houses on every inch of vacant land and corrupt govt. ...now in Texas starting all over. Once we got over the initial shock of moving, it's really quite freeing. The possibilities are endless. God can see all that we can't and what doesn't make sense to some people, we just really can't concern ourselves with. One day we will see it all. Best wishes and have fun.
CONGRATS. I am a new sub and THANK YOU. I believe your wisdom has helped us make a decision we have been thinking about for quite a while. GOD BLESS
Wow! Sounds amazing and wonderful! Can't wait to see it! ❤
