I have no experience of old/military vehicles, but I do have a fifty year old Kawasaki and a seventy year old Matchless...... I'm really enjoying seeing a parallel but completely different side of things!
Great vehicles and loved the garage tour, who knew it went back so far. Shame about the Fordson but hopefully an axle will turn up. Can't wait to hear 'Bernard' start up.
absolutely. I also swapped out a back axel and prop shaft to fit a ford box onto a moggy. Bit fiddly, I wondered if a Bedford MK? Anyhoo, good luck mate, doing a splendid job.
@@Daniel-S1 There are companies that could manufacture one but pinions and crown wheels are machined to match, something will come up. Thank you for watching 👍
Daft idea for the Ford. Look at the axles dimensions and see if you can fit an alternative Eg Bedord RL or similar you can always make up a propshaft to suit, dont always feel you have to maintain 100% originality my old man adapted lots of stuff to keep lorries on the road in the early 60s.
@@CaptainChuckles It was old technology before the wot6 was even built, I’ve looked at alternatives but it would also mean changing the transfer box as well, job for another day.

Probably talking out of my..... but, I replaced the whole rear axel on a MG once. Could you perhaps replace dear old Doris's with something similar. Long shot but eh??

Shame about Doris, we buy and sell old machinery, I'll keep my eyes open for anything that comes in (after the war lots of ex military stuff got bought and repurposed by farmers so anythings possible, at the moment we've got an AEC mk 3 or 4 meteor(or comet) engine in various military wheels, I even found a pair of Spitfire undercarriage wheels in a pile not long back)

Thanks + I guess it would be eye-wateringly expensive, but, there are specialist companies that could make a new pinion or a small batch of them.
