If you find it heavy, maybe work out and you'll truly notice the weight is not much more than that of a feather. I had surgery on my shoulder and 1/3 month later I was carrying it around as a kid does with his toys. Albeit you're not wrong in choosing a lighter laptop because you're not wrong in the slow addition of weight and the difference it makes, it's all you. Good day

@@Moreynium thermal throttling does occur if you play games continuously for many hrs but you can prevent it by overclocking the GPU and the temp reduces significantly.... I seriously suggest this laptop in the price range of Rs 75k-80k because you won't be disappointed after purchasing it...

Honestly why don't they just take out webcams and touchpads on gaming laptops and put in better specs. It's a gaming laptop you probably wont be using it to webcam anyone, nor are you going to be using a touchpad to game.
They do it with cars don't they? For people that want more of a rally car they will take out the high end electronics or heated seats and GPS system to make it lighter to focus more on the performance
The reason people buy laptops in the first place is for versatility and ease of transportation. If you have to constantly pack a mouse and webcam then it's less convenient. Gamins isn't the ONLY thing you would use a laptop for.

don't worry about it you've been plenty help, yeah 70-85 is perfectly fine. I'll try undervolting the cpu too, that should shave a couple degrees. there are only two other things I don't like about it - no thunderbolt 3 to add an external gpu to extend the lifetime down the line and the edgy gamer case. I'm off to law school so that'll look a bit unprofessional but I just can't say no to that much specs and that nice a screen on a $1200 laptop
Personally I think the 2017 is better if you don't care about the screen. Pros of 2017: 1. Cheaper 2. Better heat management (Monitz said 75 degrees max on 2017 model, now it's thermal throttling on 2018 model unless you have max fans which is gonna be hella noisy LOL) Pros of 2018: 1. Better processor (30-40% better) 2. Better screen Tbh if you are just gonna game you don't need the i7 8th gen, it just produces too much heat and actually thermal throttles. I'm actually gonna buy the 2017 model because of the heat issue lol.
@@roslolian11 undervolting the CPU by just .100/.125mv will drastically reduce the heating issue on these laptops from what I've seen. Between that, changing the fan curve, and possibly replacing the thermal compound, these things should stay pretty cool with no throttling at all.

@@roslolian11 I do agree that buying something expensive that NEEDS to be modified right away is a good reason not to buy it. However, you aren't required to make the changes I stated to get good performance. It will just get you better overall performance. If you want to keep your warranty, skip the thermal paste and make the other changes. They'll still make a world of difference. There aren't many laptops(or PCs) that come out of the box running as well as they could. Not to mention something like the Helios 300 which is already a bargain with it's specs. It's similar to people buying expensive cars and tuning them. They work just fine from the factory, but making small changes to the ECU can give you a more enjoyable experience.
Why you don't buy one with your own money? Make some work, summer jobs or something and then just pay it.. It's yours and your parents can't tell you it's waste of money

I also was about to purchase the 2017 version, but then a review mentioned the dim screen and how it made some programs such as unity hard to see sometimes. For 150 dollars more the 2018 version comes with a better screen and also faster processor. I think the ssd and cooling is better as well. Hell of a deal.

Timothy Chan i dont think any of the known laptop chassis can handle the 8th gen cpu cooling as i ve read that most new laptops hit around 100 degrees on cpu load (which some would argue that its not harmful and i disagree) I faced the decision of buying either 8th gen\1070 max q or 7th gen\1070 laptop and ive ended up taking the later for that same issue.. I think you should wait for the next year for new proper cooling solutions

@@OOPMAHS MAX temperature of cpu is around 80 after 2-3 hours and of gpu it is 70, but these are the MAX temperatures. So treat them as a worst case scenario. On a daily basis temps never exceed 65 on gpu and 75 on cpu. Before i undervolted the gpu and cpu i was getting 90 on gpu and almost a 100 on cpu so it's definitely a huge improvement just by undervolting

I'm using a Predator Helios 300 with i7 7th gen. It's super good, had no problems with longtime gaming as long as the fan is on max, and as a creative, I find it super good when working with Photoshop. But damn, I really wish it had better cooling systems. Mine just sits idle at 40-50 degree celsius.
I dont know man, I just purchased it for 900 on Amazon Prime day and did a lot of research before it. For the price many youtubers recommend Helios 300 as the best bang for your buck under 1200$ laptop

Cosquiant Yes totally it’s very good for gaming, I would recommend it but it can get really hot, and the battery doesn’t last long if it’s not plugged in, but what can you expect from a gaming laptop :)

This is a great video reviewing a great laptop. The heating issues are very true as sad it may be, but are overlookable. Personally, the weight does not bother me in the slightest way, I'll carry this around everywhere. I've actually done it already because I own one and have traveled hours with it on my back and overseas as well. Also, I guess you can say I'm an "edgy" guy so I like the design along with the statement that it makes. I do work on programs such as photoshop, premiere pro (mostly, with plenty effects too), etc... and it runs them just fine with good quality when viewed on other devices as well, in my honest opinion. I also play tons of games on high graphics just fine for the most part. I recommend it even though I've never owned another gaming laptop, simply because it sure works well enough to satisfy all my nerdy/gaming needs. This laptop will most likely not fail you when you need it the most. In the end, it is all in the eye of the beholder. If you do choose to get one, enjoy hope you like it!
Honestly. Great value for the money. I love this baby. It does get hot, but only the top portion. I grew to love the look. I dont mind lugging it around in my bag. All in all, great entry level gaming laptop imo. Great screen.

I bought the 8300h version of this laptop when my desktop motherboard went for RMA. To be honest, it is a very good desktop replacement and able to play all the games that I play really well. I just hope that it is reliable.
I have the Acer Nitro 5 (2017), baby version of this beast. I just don't feel people give the touch pad justice. Will you be gaming with it? No, but the gestures are worth every penny put into it. 1,2,3, or 4 finger gestures which are all custizable with pinches and swipes and stuff. Easily switch between game, OBX, or anything you want in a swipity swipe.

It's super good, had no problems with longtime gaming as long as the fan is on max, and as a creative, I find it super good when working with Photoshop. But damn, I really wish it had better cooling systems. Mine just sits idle at 40-50 degree celsius.

Cosquiant Yes totally it’s very good for gaming, I would recommend it but it can get really hot, and the battery doesn’t last long if it’s not plugged in, but what can you expect from a gaming laptop :)

I ordered the i7 + 1060 from Flipkart for BBD, I'm guessing you have too, and I found out that the screen is 60Hz but is quite colour accurate.

This is a great video reviewing a great laptop. The heating issues are very true as sad it may be, but are overlookable.
Personally, the weight does not bother me in the slightest way, I'll carry this around everywhere. I've actually done it already because I own one and have traveled hours with it on my back and overseas as well. Also, I guess you can say I'm an "edgy" guy so I like the design along with the statement that it makes. I do work on programs such as photoshop, premiere pro (mostly, with plenty effects too), etc... and it runs them just fine with good quality when viewed on other devices as well, in my honest opinion. I also play tons of games on high graphics just fine for the most part. I recommend it even though I've never owned another gaming laptop, simply because it sure works well enough to satisfy all my nerdy/gaming needs. This laptop will most likely not fail you when you need it the most. In the end, it is all in the eye of the beholder. If you do choose to get one, enjoy hope you like it!
Honestly. Great value for the money. I love this baby. It does get hot, but only the top portion. I grew to love the look. I dont mind lugging it around in my bag. All in all, great entry level gaming laptop imo. Great screen.

I bought the 8300h version of this laptop when my desktop motherboard went for RMA. To be honest, it is a very good desktop replacement and able to play all the games that I play really well. I just hope that it is reliable.
I have the Acer Nitro 5 (2017), baby version of this beast. I just don't feel people give the touch pad justice. Will you be gaming with it? No, but the gestures are worth every penny put into it. 1,2,3, or 4 finger gestures which are all custizable with pinches and swipes and stuff. Easily switch between game, OBX, or anything you want in a swipity swipe.
