Everybody that I've ever seen knocking these subs down is not using the optimum box size. These things ask for 2.5 cubes in a ported enclosure with a 4-in by 13.75 in Port at 30 HZ tuning for optimum sound. I had a single 12 in a custom-made box that I made myself with a labyrinthian port that slammed out over 135 decibels and made the roof and windshield of my Ford escape flex. My box was exactly 2.5 cubes. Although my port length was 56 long at the end of my labyrinth but the port opening was 3 in by 11. My best friend used to always tell me that he knew when I was coming to his house because his living room windows would start shaking when I pulled up. F the haters. If it knocks, it knocks. There was a guy down the road with two 12-in rockfords but he; like most, had them in a prefab box that did not meet or exceed the specs and as such wasn't as loud as I was with a single Walmart 12. To get the knocks it's about the box. Like even the guy in this video that box is about one cube. That speaker asks for 1.25 even in a sealed as the minimum enclosure. Minimum for ported is two
Reckon it would work better inverted? I have parts cut for 4 cubes for 2 but haven't put it together yet. They'll be in a 71 cutlass supreme so trunk space is plentiful.
I had a customer that had 2 of those. They sound decent. I feel like any subwoofer these days sounds pretty good out of the box. Especially if your a new comer to the game, which is who these subs are directed at. Don't know of many bassheads that would buys those, at least not in public lol. But for $80? Nah. In my opinion not worth it. I would rather get a more reputable subwoofer company and at least pay $20 extra just so we can eliminate the look fellow bassheads give you when you tell them you run Power Acoustic Gothics lol. Know what I mean? Excellent content, thanks for taking the time. Honest and accurate!
Appreciate that! I agree they sounds great but I would rather have a Soundstream R3 12" or a standard Power acoustic Gothic and pay the few extra bucks. But they do sound great. But I figured they would because they are based off the R3. ( which I love )Thanks so much for the comment!
@@HiFiVector why buy a regular gothic when they are the same subs? Only thing that's different is the all power acoustik one is all black and dual 2 ohm.
That's what wrong with everyone worried about wat others think.if it knocks it knocks like stated above. I would love to open my trunk and surprise everyone who worried about wat I have in my trunk who cares.
Man, you couldn't get anything like this at Walmart when I was a kid. The only subs I recall seeing there back then were the Pioneer IMPP subs (black poly cone with gold logo). Amps were Audiovox or Jensen.
I’ve got 2 on a skar rp1200 in a big qbomb prefab and they are impressive for sure. Soon to come, taramps smart3 to either make ‘em shine or make ‘em smoke!!!
Yes. But know I got a Orion 2400 classic. Swapped to 4ohm. Wired each 8ohm then bridged down. Big amp. But old so not 1 ohm stable. Cleaner. And amp goes across seat. 😎😎 Tara amp is okay but I like the old school amps better.
My son asked me a couple days ago if I had any speakers for him. I had a pioneer premier 12 sitting around I took out of my Tahoe . I bought a new suburban so I didn’t need a system in it as it already pounds. But I guess the speaker wasn’t good so he went to Best Buy and bought a kenwood 12 and we hooked it up to a 2000watt amp and it fried it in like 10 min. So then we took it back and they smelled it and all that and to me it smelled fried but they said it smelled like a new speaker! 😂 and they took it back! So then my son went and bought this one and hooked it up. We have the amp set at half power and it bangs. I’m not worry about him impressing anyone. And it’s not my car. It’s his first car and first system. I’m positive he is gonna fry it but he got the warranty on it so that’s why he bought it instead of buying a used better one on marketplace. It was close call at Best Buy so he didn’t want to deal with being screwed out of a speaker. The amp is 3000 watts max.
I got 2 gothics at 1ohm with a 5k power acoustik overdrive amp and I'm satisfied with my purchases going to be looking into getting a 15 dont know what brand yet any recommendations?
Depends if n your budget, how much power you have what size box can you fit etc…. But just off the top of my head for decent priced 15" subs, Power Acoustik BAMFamzn.to/3yigtHr , Soundstream T5 amzn.to/3QBbLLR, Skar DDX 15amzn.to/3Nbx97k , HIfonics BRW15D2 amzn.to/3tQQ2FY,

I get 150db out of 4 of these subs on a taramps smart 5.
Decent budget setup.

Threw a single 12 in 4.5 cubes with 8" aero at 30 hz and she definitely had authority
Glad your the sound god
Ive got two of these in two separate boxes. With the power 2500 amp. Pounds glass in 2015 edge

Mine are on a 3k taramp. Love it
@@fundimotorsports been happy af with the smart3 on these gothics don’t gotta force the output like I did with the rp1200.
The only thing I did was use a separate crossover. I need 50hrtz cut off lol.

Just wondering if they'll take my older Punch 1500BD without smoking.
They can take a lot over rated they are pretty good tried and true subs. I am sure 2 of these could take it no problem.

I like this sub as well, but the dust cap is so ugly! The newer version looks alot better to me. Dope sub for the price tho.
Awe man, i wish you would've demoed this sub in your custom poeted box with the plexi window!
Then this sucker would really Pound!! 💪😎👌

They are tuned to 39hz, tested with DATs and a calibrated microphone.
@@HiFiVector thanks much appreciated saved me a bunch of time and money.
Too bad that speaker does not look like that today.
