Always enjoy these. I also really appreciate the open discussion when dealing with the imperfection of the steps with the house. It's reassuring to see the experts run into issues like this. After having just done a granite tread and veneer project over precast concrete steps on an old house, I can appreciate how there is only so much you can do when working with existing infrastructure. I think your trade off was the right call and came out great.

Glad to hear it, I don't kind sharing issues we run into at all. Running into issues is one thing we can all relate to....LOL It is all about finding the best solutions and to keep on moving! Thanks for the support and feedback ✌

Bud Milwaukee reaching out is amazing! You truly are an amazing craftsman and creator. Also it’s super motivating knowing you have been filming, knowing you’re gonna edit and post when you can. I go back and forth on posting I’ll be filming and think what’s the point but then I say I love it and love editing and making videos. I love what I do as a craftsman and business owner. I just have a hard time filling in the silence while painting a wall haha. I’m still pushing and watching your channel motivates me to be a better craftsman as well as creator. Big supporter here you know that. As always God bless bud.

Thanks brother, I was pumped about them reaching out! And I love the tools... LOL I have a ton of projects sitting on memory cards, plenty of videos to come. And I hear you on the filming and editing, so much fun but it is a lot of extra work on top of all the regular activities of life. But pushing forward is always the best way to go. The silence can always be filled in with some talk of materials, tools or other industry topics. But don't forget how important it is to just be yourself and share your own personality. That is what people like here on TH-cam. They want to get to know the people they watch, so just putting yourself out there more in some videos always helps. I found with the videos I make which have more honest talk and fun interactions, they get much better results and feedback then just strictly how to videos and project videos. People like to see good work getting done by good craftsman like you mentioned, but what they like more is to see some real people doing real things and showing their real personalities. I always appreciate the support brother, keep on keepin on! God Bless you too ✌

Great job working with what you had to short of tearing down the old wall completely to make your stuff square. I'm sure it the top tread will be funky but it's such a small piece of the puzzle it will be lost until you go looking for it. Someone's eyes will be looking up at the patio/pergola or looking down so they don't fall down the steps. The other granite cap too will help mask it also!

Thanks brother, I totally agree. It was a bit funky but all the nice things around it almost camouflages it. ✌

I hear you man, once my pace starts, it doesn't slow until the day is done...LOL Breaks demotivate me for sure. But It never bothers me if others take a break, I just don't like to. 🤣 ✌

Love it man. Southern NH here, i have a laser but if I have known points like a porch or step etc I just check the base as im going with the 6’ level and it hasn’t failed me yet for the smaller projects. A transit is definitely helpful of larger jobs or if you’re doing a patio out in the middle of a yard etc. love the videos man keep it up

Is there a video on how you all see the steps?

Unfortunately I only have video of the first few steps going in. I'm actually kicking myself for not filming more of the step install, just got really busy on that job and didn't film a lot of it.... But here is a link to the video of us starting the wall and laying the first few steps 👉th-cam.com/video/k85E4X5tUrU/w-d-xo.html
