Thanks to both of you for taking the time. Amazing content. I’m humbled. I’m actually detoxing drugs right now in a hotel. Lost my mom to suicide, lost two brothers to heroine, one of my kids passed. I lost my marriage and my two kids. Listening to this as I return is super helpful. I look forward to having the same peace and sound mind both of you have. For now please pray for me. I’m he demons are raging. But God is also and he says He loves me. I’m just in his way. I surrender control of my life. The feeling of being so alone and abandoned in the desert sucks but I believe God is inviting me into the desert. I’m just so scarred. Bless all of you. Peace over you. Victory over you. Life over you. Blessings over you.

The bit from 26:30 when he tells the story of how the power of saying “I’ll never quit” out loud and with real conviction made a guy (who had only ever ran 10km before) run over 100 miles with him. Summed up by Chad as “My tongue is my rudder” incredible stuff.
That sounds totally insane. I run 22km few times, 10 and 15k regularly and I can't imagine being able to push myself next week to run 160km (approx 100 miles). That story is absolutely amazing.

When Chadd came home for a few weeks after finishing the first phase of BUDs I remember this conversation very clearly Me (mom) "chadd I am so proud of your accomplishment and I know you will do much more" Chadd " Momma you know one thing I have always been sure about? Whatever I wanted to do all my life you first would research everything you could about it, support me in any aspect of the challenge and assure me that I would surpass whatever goals I set for myself. No matter what it wanted to do even if I had chose to be a ballerina you would have supported me, and for that I am so grateful. Nuff said!

He got my attention at 3 minutes already by being humble.

I had jo idea who Chadd was and after watching the entire thing I’m so impressed and the saying never judge the book by its cover makes perfect sense. I’m also impressed how humble Chadd is which is so rare in these days the amount of stuff he did accomplish many people would bragged about everywhere yet hi is sitting there so humble and controlled manner he didn’t use a single bad word which is very hard to do in these days.
I watch a lot of interesting interviews of such people and trying to adopt their resilience and perseverance.

I don't think that's completely true. Of course you've got to work hard but just working hard might not be enough... Hacks and shortcuts do work if they are smart and many times are neccessary. A properly implemented hack will greatly amplify results of your hard work.
Fully agree, people looking for "shortcuts" will collapse once life gets REALLY hard, and this WILL come. You need to be able to grind.
well of course there is some ways to make it easier to build habits. Hacks and shortcuts do exist. But in diffrent ways.

Awesome testimony Chad! As a former Naval Aviator, adventurer, and athlete myself, I can totally get what you’re saying. I’m a Christian and your testimony and openness about your faith are substantially encouraging. God bless you brother and keep ‘running the good race.’ By the way, your experience with demons on deployment is something I’ve experienced as well, not on deployment and not in the same, sort of tangible, way you had, but definitely the feeling of dread, discontent, and overall darkness in an area where my wife and I owned property in a neighborhood that was not spiritually healthy at all. Now that we’ve divested ourselves from that area, in large part because of that, the spiritual weight was lifted. God directed our actions and footsteps and restored us. God’s using you in great ways brother. I hope and pray that Rich takes your testimony to heart, puts presuppositions and biases aside, and looks into the word of Jesus with an open mind and heart. It life changing. This is one of the best, if not the best, interview I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. Thanks for doing this Rich and Chad.

The way that this podcast has turned my day into a brand new way of thinking, is unreal. I could listen to Chad for hours and hours. A bright light shines out of him.
I love how he constantly confirms that everything others did was great, just not his deal. He didnt want more or something better, just different. Stand up guy.

I just realized I ran the Cayuga 50 miler in New York with this guy. He was far ahead of me but I knew he looked familiar. Dude was so fast

My spiritual teacher in Israel is a Holocaust survivor. I am prone to depression. I moved to israel from the States in 2021. One of the times i was really struggling, my teacher told me in her heavy accent, "You dont ever NEED to let anyone know how you truly feel." I will never forget these words of a survivor from true hell. Real hell. She lives her life devoted to helping other people and rarely if ever says anything negative about herself or how she feels or her pain, either psychic or physical. I hear that voice of hers in my head so often saying those words, when i begin to fall down the rabbit hole. She is a soldier just like this man. She taught me how to fight against myself and my own fears. Thank you for sharing your stories of true service.
I ran a little bit with Chadd at a last man standing ultra. Didn't know him at all. He had a vibe encompassing him that you could feel, the force is with him. Cool guy.

I am diggin how well spoken and clear he is. Notice how he isnt constantly using verbal ticks such as "like" "honestly" "literally" "do you know what I'm saying" etc. And he prefaces things he says with "this is just my opinion" or "this ia just what I have learned in my life". Those are the marks of a very intelligent, humble and well learned person.
People who have suffered the most in life should become teachers wether it’s putting yourself through what this guy does/has or if life has dealt you a bad hand. These people are gold

His Dad is such a great man/father...he said “if you want to be a SEAL you, have no choice” and gave that reassurance. My dad would’ve tried to talk me out of my dreams, and I feel like most other parents would too

Wow, kudos to Chadd for being so calculated as to how he responds to the questions, especially about faith. And kudos to Rich for asking the questions. In a world where religion/faith can be so divisive, Rich does a great job just taking a clearly genuine interest in another human being, and Chadd isn't pushy or forceful and allows his story to do the work! Love it
I wasn't financial free until my 40’s and I’m still in my 40’s, bought my third house already, earn on a monthly through passive income, and got 4 out of 5 goals, just hope it encourages someone that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any of them right now, you can start TODAY regardless your age INVEST and change your future! Investing in the financial market is a grand choice I made. Great video! Thanks for sharing!

@@harrisonjamie794 I invest across the top markets but not by myself though. I follow the guidelines of MARTHA ALONSO HARA . you might have heard of her. I can correctly say she's worth her salt as an investment advisor as her diversification skills is top-notch, I say this because I see that in her results as my portfolio grows by averages of 20 to 3O% every month, unlike I can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along. my portfolio just mirrors what she places and not just on some particular industries of my choosing. she gave me that financial freedom I needed

Had the pleasure of meeting this dude in Blackwater's HQ in Virginia. He told us he loved to cut grass for $ on the side and did it initially as a joke to make his brothers laugh, "a Navy Seal that cuts grass" lmao. Real cool dude.
I'm an unlikely viewer of this video (75 yo woman, to physically inactive, etc.), so I was surprised to learn so much that I need. I'm a follower of Eckhart Tolle, and this video took me to church, so to speak (not religiously but spiritualy). The truth is beautiful. I'm inspired. Thanks for the opportunity to hear Chadd. What a sweet and lovely man! My cousins were in Seal Team 1 and 2. Yeah, they didn't say a word about any of it. But this guy has a huge heart and a big kuleana. We should be proud of him as an Amazing American!

Chadd is a genuine dude. I got in touch with him through a mutual friend when I found out I was being medically retired after 6.5 years in the USAF and he really helped me cope with that and is helping me with the transition. “Don’t die in the chair.” - Chadd Write
I'm no Navy Seal, but my motto has always been "when life gets tough, you need to get tougher" Chad has the simplified version, "be hard when it gets hard"

This is fantastic. I was training to do the Ironman but the cancer stage 3 struck and knocked me out. I’ve been looking fir inspiration to rekindle my love for running. This video is it. I’m still suffering from extreme pain in my lower bowel and I’ve been too scared how my body will react. The reason is that any change in my routine causes me major gut problems. I’ll tune in to this and try to use it to motivate me

I love stories like this. Through a series of challenges I undertook in my life I learned how to push through the pain and keep going anyway. The biggest ones were running a marathon after barely training, then having 3 kids between 2014-2018, all unmedicated births (2 of which were water births where no one touched me until afterwards, and I caught my own baby). I had gotten really good at ignoring pain. But then something happened that changed everything. Without having any prior back pain or weakness, one day I bent down to tie my shoe and my back seized and I couldn’t stand up straight again. I was like a human letter C. I spent 3 days in bed, and then felt fine and went back to life as usual. About 6 weeks later, I bent down to change my youngest child’s diaper and my back seized, but this time, violently. I screamed over and over so loudly, and just fell on the floor. I was right next to the couch, and it took 3 hours to get myself from the floor to the couch. Then, I could not get up for 36 hours, not even to go to the bathroom. My husband and I knew I should go to the ER, but that an ambulance ride would be extremely expensive, and there was no other way to get me to the hospital. My husband thought he could maybe carry me to the car, but anytime he so much as tried to pick me up or move me, the pain would be so intense I’d be screaming again, so we just stayed at home and hoped it would get better. I wish now that I had called for an ambulance anyway, more than I can say. No pain meds would touch it. After 36 hours, I was able to finally hobble, bent over and so weak my husband had to hold me up, to go to the bathroom. I was used to ignoring pain and pushing through it, so I thought it would work that time. After that I spent weeks in bed other than to go to the bathroom or go to the chiropractor. It got “better” and I thought it was all over. After 9 months of near constant debilitating flare ups, I finally insisted on an MRI, and they found not one, or two, but 4 herniated discs in a row, in my lower back. The goal was to try to avoid surgery, so I spent another 6 months trying everything else, and nothing worked. I finally got surgery 2 weeks ago. I never know if my life will be normal again, but I’m not giving up. Unfortunately, this hurt the trust I had in my body. To have such a serious issue come up with no prior pain, and then have near constant debilitating pain for a year and a half, that I could never push through (if I didn’t stop whatever I was doing and lay down as soon as the pain increased, it would injure me further), broke me. Pain and lack of pain mean something so different to me now.

Wow. I had no idea how much I needed this podcast, today of all days. I'm 31 today, and I've been clean and sober from all drugs and alcohol for 2 months now. NOT what expected when selected to listen to a SEAL. VERY deep yet interesting. Took much from this episode. Watched entirely. How Chadd has chosen to direct his life and energy is not easy, especially to sustain long term. Very much admire Chadd. Appreciate all that I heard and learned. I am a teenager who struggles with pornography. I decided to put that statement to the test, and I told myself, “I will not mess up today,” and I haven’t failed since. It’s helped tremendously telling myself, out loud, that I won’t mess up. Brings me so much confidence.
Inspiring, authentic, down to earth guy with so much compassion. Breaking everything down into single steps is the way of reaching any goal you want to reach. My father didn't serve any country; he was a resistance fighter in the former Yugoslavia during WWII against the Nazis; sounds black and white but there was no country to be patriotic about. … just Justice and Mercy for All … and yet holds many of the same tenets as this amazing man; tx for this podcast, and tx for the opportunity to listen to Chadd Wright.
I had the chance of greeting one of those great men in Mauthausen, Austria. He was sent to that hell because he was part of the Resistance, and survived to tell the tale still in 2005. Always will be a place in my heart for that man.

My grandfather was at Pearl Harbor when the attack happened. He wasn’t on a ship, it had a very specific name, and it was very small. But it sank. Afterward he continued to fight in the South Pacific.

I had a good friend that I worked with for several years that died from cancer. I didn't know he was a navy seal till it came out at his funeral.

I knew a seal who died from cancer. Amazing person and so many opportonities to be heroic seemed to follow him. For example he happened onto a robbery and handled the situation before the police even arrived. He was kind to everyone.
I just happened to come across this podcast because it was in the suggested videos --> and can I say that it may have been just what I needed. I have been struggling with a lot mentally the last couple of years and just being able to "fake it" around people while being eaten alive with internal strife. Listening to Chadd just opened my mind up to how to "attack" many of the internal enemies that I am battling. Thank you Chadd and Rich!

I saw this video prior to enlisting in the navy. I went to bootcamp but got an entry level separation due to my poor eyesight. I got to experience that feel of having your dreams taking from you. I'm grateful to come across this video. I'm currently in the process of trying to find an ophthalmologist to see if there is anything that can be done to possibly correct my vision that will be up to standard with the navy. I was told at greatlakes that it was very unlikely that my vision can be corrected but I have to try.
Hope it's working out. Maybe try ALL the services...something. I am ex infantry. I joined, and then quit during training. Literally, the day after I left, I went right back to the office and signed right back up again and did 5 years. If you dont

My brother had the opportunity to meet Chadd when he graduated lineman school in Georgia last year. Said he was a real down to earth guy and talked to him for a while. Told me about him bc I've gotten into Ultras
What an inspiration. I was not a Seal, but accomplished many missions with them in the field. They are the best, and America should be very proud of their dedication to this country against all odds.....
This is awesome, I have never heard of chadd, but as soon as I started hearing him speak I knew that he was a believer. It's amazing how one brother to another our spirits identify, even through a youtube video. I love it.

We go deep on so many things about our diet, mind sets, workouts etc and its really refreshing when you open the door for those to discuss their faith. We tend to isolate faith in its respective silo but I really believe its at the center across all aspects of our lives and the key driver for how and why we do what we do. This is by far my favorite SEAL interview. The power of prayer is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced too. My Heavenly Father has done some amazing things for me too and I pray many times a day because I want Jesus near me at all times!!!
