    I'm been a Mitsuda fan since my childhood, Chrono Trigger, Cross, Kirite, they shaped some nostalgic memories and general feelings from my youth. Hearing this song paired with the aqua blues of the water, the seaguls and waves, it takes me back to the summer Michigan beaches that I first experienced Mistuda's works. That unmistakable Mitsuda syntax of nostalgic childhood is richly spread throughout the melody. I keep coming back, and I'm so thankful that he participated in this project to grant me a fresh, yet familiar feeling again, years later.

    I find myself coming back to this song over and over. The soaring flute, acoustic guitar, and warm bassline are just so reminiscent of Chrono Cross. The devs did a good job on the other tracks, but Mitsuda takes it to another level.

    I was playing the demo and wandered in the direction opposite of where I was told to go (as one does in video games), then all of a sudden this track begins to play as I approach another area. My immediate thought was "Wow, that sounds like Yasunori Mitsuda... Wait... That IS Yasunori Mitsuda!" I closed my eyes and just let the music play for a solid hour. An awesome surprise for an old Chrono Trigger fan who hadn't looked into the game beforehand.

    Chrono Trigger has one of my favorite soundtracks, I was ecstatic when I heard he was going to make some music for this game. playing the demo I was surprised they included this track to listen to. It's so good. Gives me the Chrono feels, and yet its still different. Ahhh.

    Woah, getting strong Mario Party 1 vibes from the first part of this track, especially Mario's Rainbow Castle and the pre-game explanation music. Mario Party is Mitsuda's best and most underappreciated work!!

    Wait, THAT'S who made this track!?
    No wonder I love this game, it feels simultaneously like an old classic SNES RPG(which the music only adds to), while also being new and fresh with some fun ideas. (I always love battle systems that reward smart decision making with 'interrupts' on enemy attacks, which if you've played the game you know is a core mechanic. I enjoyed the 'Grandia' series for much the same reason)

    I wish Mitsuda did the entire soundtrack, because there's a pretty big gap in quality between his track(s) and the devs'. It's still pretty decent though. Hyped for the full version.

      I'm really digging Eric's battle themes so far. They give me Lufia-vibes, so I appreciate the mix of influences the OST might have (even CT was a collaborative effort). Still, I hope Mitsuda's tracks are used to full effect and allowed to shine wherever they are placed.

    • @HettesKvek
      @HettesKvek ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would cost more money than the studio could afford.

    • @Kywu
      @Kywu ปีที่แล้ว +5

      lol there's no gap, they are both good and Eric music slap af, just look at his osts like, it's so epic i prefer him tbh !

    • @BelovedRapture
      @BelovedRapture ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HettesKvek Normally that's true for indie projects that have "guest composers" like Mitsuda and Kikuta. However, if they wanted him for the full OST, they probably could have afforded it in this case. The Kickstarter alone raised more than a million dollars.
