The a50s mute when you flip it up but the a40s you can take out the mic and put it on the other side if you want so that’s why they can’t flip up to mute function
They could just put that function on both sides though, it would work the same
The reason that you can hear your self in the A40 when tapping or breathing down it etc is because of mic monitoring it tells you when your to close to the mic or are breathing Dom it so that you get the best audio quality.

Exactly!!! Best to hear yourself so your not shouting to your buddies on the game, I came to watch this video because my buddy has the Hyper X and I just got the Astro and was gonna get him some for his birthday, glad I know what the HyperX doesn’t do compared to what the Astro can do!
You can mute the Astro a40 with the remote on the headphone wire

Ok so I bought the Astro A40 TrX bc I’m on console and will refuse to pay 250 for a headset and mix amp (coming from the HyperX cloud core) and i can say that for me I cannot notice a pressure point on my head. In fact they are weighed in at around 330+ grams but are suprisingly very light especially after u wear them for around 3 days. The ear cups are very plush and soft and my ears no longer sweat when I’m gaming for extensive periods of time. They also have a pretty thick layer of the fabric that hoes over the drivers and are not uncomfortable in any way.The sound is amazing. I can distinguish different sounds in apex very easily, if they are healing, pinpointing footsteps and if they are behind me, etc. Overall it is an amazing headset and would recommend.

Raja Ilman Daniel Yes via 3.5 mm sounds great and has very comfortable fabric for the earcups. I have also used the steelseries arctis 9x ($200) before which are soft but have terrible weight distribution and push down on your ears. The astros do not have amazing sound isolation but are clear enough to tell in game sound from the sound around u. I can hear talking but not the fan on my Xbox one X or Ps4 Pro and im about 16 inches from them. Best overall headset I have ever used. Must buy in my book.

Yeah i was thinking to get with the mix amp but i a bit tight on budget and tbh not keen or sorting out the cable when playing. I guess straight up connected to controller will do.
Raja Ilman Daniel For sure. It is honestly amazing give it like 2-3 days max as it may seem a little heavy at first but the memory foam inside the fabric does amazing at keeping my ears cool and not hurting after an 8 hour cod session. They have a thin layer of leather on the inner ear cups for better acoustics/sound isolation but my ears have never touched it or the red plastic that connects the ear cups via magnets. Very comfortable.

The a40 has a mute switch on the wire though. The a50 is the headset that was advertised for flip up mute
The a40 is the only Astro headset that doesn't have flip to mute because it has a removable mic
The a50 mutes the mic when moving the mic up not the a40

I'd say the mic quality on the alpha is the exact same as the steel series arctis 5 but is louder.

There’s no music in the background during the sound tests! The sound test started from the gameplay. And if you’re talking about the sound test when I’m clapping, that’s from the fortnite game when recording through the mic LOL 😆

Not super impressed with this review as it is obvious that the reviewer is already partial to the Hyper X. When the external sound test came the A40's out performed the HyperX by a ton but the reviewer brushed right by that fact.

I bought an A40 to use with the Hyperx AMP that I already had. Is the difference in sound quality between the MIX AMP PRO to the HYPERX AMP considerable?
The a40 is so much better than the Hyperx headset I have both I just bought the a40 and I would never switch to another headset

I am looking at a decision between these two headsets but want to know if the astro a40s feel heavy or if u get a noticeable pressure point on either one?
I covered the heavy and pressure points in the vid, but to recap...hyperx felt lighter. Astros had a pressure point at the top of my head 😬👊

Isn’t the most important thing not what you teammates hear but what you hear through the headset? I have a40 tr-x’s and the sound quality is absolutely amazing but you didn’t mention anything about sound quality just mic quality

hi, i bought the astro a40 tr xbox / pc version, and i would like to know it is compatible with the ps4 / pc version mixamp? the mixamp xbox / pc version is out of stock
The A40s have a switch on the wire leading up to the headphone that a mute button is on.
A 40 has a removable mic and the hyper also has that really good if you have a studio mic
Question. Can you make set audio presets on a computer and still use those same presets for PS4???

one thing I find out is that mic has buzzing noise. event my old headphone(HyperX CLOUD stinger) mic are better than that.

I have a40 gen 4 and a50 gen 3 and 4 and a40 don’t mute if you raise the mic (like you said) but the control is on the cable but with the a50 it works so you maybe watched an a50 video

Witch headset do you really prefer? Astro or hyper x? As I have hyper x but I could get Astro for 220$ witch seems like a good deal with the mix amp
@@imvazzey9501 sound quality: hyperX and comfort. but the things i like about astro 40 is the comfort of use while on mobile... the mixAmp isn't a big deal to me. so, for a price and sound quality yeah... in the end it's hyperX Astro has yet to present a revolutionary sound quality since 2009.
You can use mic amp on a40 for hyper X? And we’ll thank appreciate the comment and I will keep using my hyper x alphas s just find on warzone they are little low on footsteps feel like I need a software or sum

You can get the Mix amp later on when you have the funds if you want, but I think the Sound Blaster will be better. Peace

@@tury4141 it always just depends on the motherboard if u have the usb 7.1 try with and without usually the mic is better without the usb my cloud alpha's mic is comparable to mics like the razer siren in quality

Astro a50 does flip to mute and the Astros a40 have an inline mute button but using them with my ps5 I can just mute via the controller. Been using the same Astros a40s since 2015 no issues. Had turtle beaches and I've had hyper x headsets as well and they all ended up having issues either speakers failing or the hardwired cables failing mind you they stayed hooked up to my ps4 at the time.
