Yes you can connect monitor or TV for display, but may need a browser to do initial setup. You could use your smartphone and there are many apps you can download to use various features on your phone. You could enable the Linux option within and connect keyboard and mouse and montior or tv and use it like a PC with Linux OS.
Now user review for qnap va synology
I used both Synology and QNAP. In my personal opinion Synology offers a really easy to use UI. WNAP offer bit more flexibility like generic upgrades and some tools. This is similar to Mac vs Windows in my view. Its down to your expertise, budget and needs.
I'm new to this and I want to install NAS with 2 bays. My usage is to backup office related files and also to backup photos from mobile. I surfed through the Internet and came to know about Synology DS220+. Compared to QNAP which is best sir? If Qnap is best then which model will be suitable for me? Please help me in this sir
Hi, you can get a 2 bay NAS model in either QNap or Synology. I personally feel Synology is the mac of NAS world and QNAP is the PC. QNAP offers bit more freedom to Play around and cheap to upgrade memory etc based on the model. Both offer similar features. I would recommed Synology if you are less techsavvy and QNAP if you prefer to get your hands on as a project.

It's also a good unit for its size and cost. Good starter unit. I have used DS211J for many years and moved to this. I feel Synology is the mac of NAS world and QNAP is the PC. A bit more freedom to Play around and cheap to upgrade

No data loss on firmware updates. Some time you loose saved settings of a specific application only. Data loss only occurs when you perform a reset or full wipe or all disk corruption.
In 2022 what you will suggest to buy
NAS devices do not have new versions similar to phone or laptops very often,. as NAS is much more modular and the option to choose the suitable NAS is something i would suggest you do based on your needs.
Which is best now review after using qnap
I Like QNAP better as it gives me some freedom to upgrade, install apps from outside store other than qnap store etc.

As many as you want. But there may be network limitations like maximum speed and number of users online at the same time. This model is a small business version and if you are using 10gbe network easily can support 50 or more at the same time without issues

It is a stand alone Device and can connect to any OS.. You can add it as a network drive on your computers or access via apps on your phone..
