Thanks for the video. mine doesnt work at the point you hit network drives - server error. This is so frustrating. Network issues are the worst on pc's

Hi, I understand your frustrations. Make sure your pc and the qnap nas are in the same subnet mask and both has the same DNS server and make sure the gateway is correct too.

That’s something else. You can achieve it by installing ownCloud in your QNAP. I haven’t tried it myself but I will check it when got a chance and might create a video tutorial.

How can I mirror my existing Qnap server to a new Qnap server with its own drives? I wish for the new Qnap server to be identical to the old one.

I haven’t done this as I only have one QNAP NAS but I believed there are existing videos already out there. Try search in TH-cam about Syncing from one qnap to another. Hope that helps.

Sorry mate I just saw your message. subfolder will inherit the permission from the main shared folder. Did you mean how to restrict the subfolder?
