The meal after giving birth is a celebration meal before discharge where momma and daddy will not be able to sleep a whole night through or eat a meal without interruptions for the next 18 years.
Especially because momma is gonna be cooking the next night for sure. It's not a great trade off.

I was a patient in Hawaii. It's best to have easy-to-digest foods. I was given jello, grits and a fried egg for breakfast 😅

My post birth meal was brie and cranberry chicken, veggies, and mashed potatoes, and my daughter's father got steak and the same sides and a bottle of sparkling apple juice. The rest of the meals weren't to bad, pre-birth I was on a liquid diet, so it was ice chips, juice, and jello. Post birth, you get a special meal, and then I picked typical stuff like scrambled eggs and hash browns, a sandwich and soup, plus a cart came every two hours to offer me snacks and I could pick as many as I wanted because of breast feeding and after birth recovery, it had a lot of chocolate (pudding, and dry cereals) and fruit and grains, I craved chocolate while I was breastfeeding. Juice was on demand. I still got a humongous plate of salad from the cafeteria salad bar because I was craving that after birth.

Im from Texas and I was in the Er for 4 days for rhabomyosis and the food wasnt bad at all.
Definitely wasnt just a baked potato and carrots.

I’m from West Texas and hospital meals are like top tier dining over here 😂 so is jail food lol most Texas jails hire private companies to cook food and it isn’t run by trustees just fyi 😂 I’m in good health and not in jail thank the lord just a lil knowledge
