You convinced me this was something I could do the minute you said you hadn't done it in years, yet still did a very functional repair. There's so many home repair projects I've put off doing because I thought I didn't have time to learn how to weld. All I'm interested in is functional repair, not picking up a trade or doing contractor work and you've shown how an everyman can casually do it if they know the basics. Thanks for the inspiration, friend!
I was debating a stick welder but I was used to Mig welding from back in the 80's, on old sports cars and flux core is so similar to Mig, that I went with flux. Its been so long, that I've had to practice a lot, to get back to decent welds. Welding is a great skill to have, even if you rarely need it.

That's right Sal, I was planning on picking up a flux-core welder but my daughter's fiance bought the little stick welder and I do like it. I appreciate you watching and commenting 🙂.
stick welders will never be obsolete because its cheap and it has the best penetration welds more than any other welder on earth you can weld 1inch and more depending on the welders while other welders need gas or are more expensive why you think we weld ships with stick welders because of the penetration it has and its easy to use when you get to know it

This man welding over slag it will work for how long I don't know
So far, so good. As I said, I am no welder and am just interested in functionality.
