Basically Denver P.D told her "we don't care cuz not enough people complained about it."
"Oh wow ok NOW WE CAN CARE"

Make the whole length of Colfax a walkable low-traffic zone (no thru-traffic), with a free trolley track.
There are adjacent one-way streets more suited to thru-traffic, than Colfax. Currently, it's a smoggy high-risk traffic zone that's unpleasant to be around. It doesn't have to be!

You would have to get rid of the smoke shops, dive bars, tattoo parlors, "massage" joints, and cheap motels. While none of these things are bad on their own, put them all together on one street, and they attract a bad crowd.

@@ogadlogadl490 once Covid-19 happened Florida got a huge rush of people too:/ unfortunately along with a bunch of billionaires buying up land, and literally running us small southern folk who’ve been here and never ever made enough money in the first place because job security is non existent and its not affordable to live here anymore.. even when working three jobs..

It's the cars. Weed is legalized in all kinds of upscale places, but high traffic density & speeds create unpleasant + unhealthy + dangerous conditions, which discourage voluntary use of the space around them, resulting in spaces neglected by those with money, where litter, crime, & people without homes, aren't scooped up as often.
The population has increased a bit, but the number of miles traveled by automobile on Colorado roads has soared. The rail systems are still pathetically sparse. The "greater Denver metropolitan area" hasn't scaled its transit systems to accommodate demand, & neither has Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Austin, Houston, Dripping Springs, or southern NewMexico, so far as I've seen?

    Again
Out of state people move here. Then start complaining about the area and expect it to be changed. Our drag strip was on 470. Then they built houses and its to loud.
