MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell says that while he hopes Vice President Harris answers questions from reporters, after the press conference that Donald Trump turned into a “charade,” Vice President Harris has “absolutely no greater obligation to do so because of what Donald Trump pretended to do today.”

I wish people would watch what ORANGEFACE IGNORAMUS did during covid19 pandemic...people were dying in hospitals, we couldnt see our family members, doctors, nurses, healthworkers exhausted from caring for patients, so many deaths they didn't know where to put them, as I recall seeing on TV. I watched every day as the numbers kept rising and rising...I got covid in January 2021..I lived in Florida.

In that case, a euphemism for strategic lying if ever there was.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sir, my father was a journalist. If he had lived to see what mainstream journalism has descended into, he'd have felt heartbroken. The damage these feckless and, yes, _idiotic_ reporters are doing is incalculable. More people should be fulminating as you do here.
I went to college in the early '80s. At the time, in my journalism courses, we were repeatedly encouraged to get the answer to the question we asked. When I did interviews with people, and they gave a non answer or feigned my question was about another issue, I either repeated my original question verbatim or tried to reword it, in case they misunderstood my question. I didn't let it go until about five times, at which point I would say, "Moving on."
This kowtowing to Trump and viciousness towards President Biden and his press secretary are sickening. I never yelled at anyone, and I tried to be as polite and respectful as possible.
Social media and the algorithm of clickbait has driven the media to chase clicks by engaging in rage and fear. It's not journalism anymore.

I’m British. This man is an example of what a Journalist should be. How is it a story unless it is fact checked. I hope his job is safe. What I know of journalists standing up for truth, seems a precarious business in the U.S. They do need to unite and become braver.

Thank you Mr. O’Donnell for FINALLY calling the media to task. Although I am Canadian, the US has a big impact on us. I have waited since 2016 to hear someone say what you did today. I applaud you and congratulate you for calling out the former President and the media. Long overdue.

I have never seen a media figure do what Lawrence O'Donnell did on his 08-08-24 show. It was a brutally honest and searing criticism dealing with how Trump has always received the most gentle and deferential treatment as he successfully avoids having to answer questions that others have to face. The example he showed of President Biden being yelled at by many different voices at the same time proved his point beyond any doubt. O'Donnell's commentary should be part of every journalism class taught in this country. He was superb on every level ... an A+. Just because his Secret Service agents are escorting Trump to the bathroom does not mean that it has to be covered live and last for one hour.
