And by the way, nobody in the history of woodworking has ever flipped their hole guide upside down by accident, and drilled all the holes on the inside of their kitchen shelves in 2013, including drilling clear through the side several times. No, that is never happened.
And definitely no one has ever drilled through the side of the cabinet because the collar on the drill bit being used slid. And it definitely wasn't while the customer came to visit the shop to see the finishing touches. And they definitely weren't watching you right when you did it....
Hey! I HAVE one of those shirts!!❤ The thicker your jig is, the straighter your holes are likely to be, so if you have a piece that’s 2 inches thick you’ll be better off than a 3/4” piece.
The sleeves give the cabinet a nice bit of flare. Just find the correct color for a bit of pop, and contrast. And we always have those day of what the heck is going on. Lol Thank you Mr. Jon
Always interesting videos Jon. Metric 8mm brass sleeves omit the lip or flange in your exampled inserts for a 6mm brass pin. These give a very slim look. Sleeves are a friction fit. There were imperial size for the same combination but we are all metric these days. Buying sleeves per 100 is the way to go rather than the pins and sleeves together. I always drill before assembly but your story stick will assist if I forget. Regards

I,m a toolmaker and love woodworking on my off time, when choosing the proper diameter drill for the job I find the use of a micrometer seldom fails. Drill miss marked or placed wrongly in the index holster will bite you every time. #1 tip to your followers Never Assume . . . .use a mike Jon . . .like to see more ART Please
Thanks Jorge, the inside of the cabinet is birch plywood… The outside will be walnut veneer. There will be a full project video in about two or three weeks, showing the finished piece of furniture and how to build it.

A center weighted story stick sucks. . . .I like blue tape at bottom . . . stupid LOL

1/4 " sleeves that I get use a 7mm drill bit which is 9/32 imperial.

They make for 1/4" pins inserts take 9/32 brad point is best. Inserts give excellent support for the pins
