Good show. Wd like to see you guys do Gravity's Rainbow vs Slaughterhouse-5. Vonneget's book is less than 1/6 as long but packs much more weight. A great ex of less is more and concision and humor when they work vs, bloat and lack of humor and human insight in Pynchon.
I'm actually doing Cat's Cradle with Keith in the next couple of weeks. Never read Gravity's Rainbow, so it's like reading 6 shitty Slaughterhouse Fives back to back? Did you read Steven Pinker's Enlightenment Now from a few years back? It's a big book, Joel finished it recently, so that's our next one. Working on the site now, I'll test out my old host for a month or two when it's live and decide whether or not to migrate.
@@automachination Someone gave me a link to a Russian site where I read that Pinker book. I think he's way overextended himself. He needs to focus on his areas of expertise. I will not be writing a book on chess strategy nor the evolution of Indonesian lepidoptera.
Can you also find someone to talk about anime and animation too. You have some interesting takes on MIyazaki and Evanghelion and I was wondering if you could talk about other animated films like Son of the white mare, The angels egg, the works of Richard Williams .
