I'm a 40yo woman, living in a truck camper for almost 4 years... it's really cool hearing about a woman (or anyone) who's been living this since pre-internet days. Major respect! I must be an oddball, I though I don't have one, actually like the hum of generators. Thank you for this!!
I think a truck camper would be good for you! Eagle Cap makes some nice large truck campers with plenty of room, dry bath, and nice galleys. Bo would love being in the truck. You can detach the camper when Jen wants to go off on her own. Mike would get the truck he’s always wanted.
@@RVLifestyle You can also take the grandkids. The Eagle Cap truck campers can sleep 6. If you get a crew cab truck, the kids would be safe in the back with 3-point seat belts. I might do a truck camper instead of a class B.
Calif gas prices are definitely THE factor in my not camping this fall. I usually have flexibility in my fixed income to allow for some travel but, not right now.
Thank you so much for the review of Falls Campground! I stayed at one of the commercial campgrounds in Dubois this summer. As a solo traveler, I was nervous about chancing a first come site. I love the area, so next time I camp there!
Buying anything directly from an RV dealership is a nightmare! Be it a new RV or a relatively meaningless part. What one knows for sure, you will be grossly overcharged and lied to. Do your research people, many of the items needed to keep your RV going can be found at big boxs store 50% cheaper, and more than not, the exact same brand. Also keep in mind, most RVs are mini mobile homes so places like Menards, Lowe's, Home Depot carry the very same parts an over priced dealership would carry. And the biggest thing to do is, learn to do repairs on your RV. Google and TH-cam has saved me literally THOUSANDS of dollars in repairs bills! It's really not that hard and gives you a sence of pride and independence. I'm not a campground queen, I have stayed in some of the most remote places in the US because let's face it, we do this to get away from people, politics and excessive money spending right?

I survived the 50's, the 60's, and the 70's twice each, but never thought about it that way until this video!! Funny!

You may be on to something, Joyce!

Enjoyed your guest in small truck camper.
very interesting.nice camper.
What is a macerator?
A macerator grinds up the waste and pumps it out and even uphill. The macerator hose is closer to garden hose size.

My biggest fear would be/is harassment and extortion from law enforcement.
In cities, as long as you've paid to park, like a parking meter (impossible in a full size RV) it's completely legal.
Me too !
I would like to meet Netti. I am her age, travel solo part time and live in Tampa. She can PM me if she would like.
