    I would like to thank you very much for your videos on the GM Upfitter Switch Install (New Body Style 19+).
    I viewed all 4 of your videos and was able to purchase and then install the kit as you suggested. Your step-by-step instructions made the entire process very stress free.
    Thank you and keep up the good work.

    Awesome job on the series, I just ordered my parts today. Thank you for the part numbers as my dealership told me that it wasn't available for my truck, but when I gave them the numbers they couldn't argue it. I applaud you for your attention to details and explaining everything. This is extremely helpful.

    Dude, you could have just used the new knee bolster as a stencil like I did to cut the hole in the original bolster...this is what I did...I didn't need to take any of those panels off!....I even squeezed the 2 screws in for the fuse box without taking that bolster off all the way...the whole job took me 45 minutes...and it looks just as good as yours.

    Great video wanting to add to my 2019 3500 Denali. However, I can not find the plug-in for fuse box anywhere under the dash. Is the 2019. I know the knee bolster is different will retrofit.

    Great job on video! Very thorough! I have a 21 at4 and I’m wondering if this switch will work in my truck. I’m getting so many different answers. I just want to get the customization done on my truck. Our trucks do look so similar.

    It would be a good idea to disconnect the battery ground cable or cables if you are working on a vehicle with two batteries. I installed the upfitter switches on my 3500 and instead of changing out the knee bolster I simply cut out the rectangular hole for the switch block. Was pretty easy using a sharp utility knife.

      Can you show picture of how your cut out came out

    • @mikearlt6327
      @mikearlt6327 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidmacias8090 I would like to show it, but I do not see where to add pictures to comments. I think it turned out very well, and there really should not be any difference when compared to the factory one. I took my time to lay it out carefully and then cut it out very slowly and made sure not to go too big on the first try. Better to "sneak up" on the fit. I used some tape to draw the lines for the cutout and to protect the surface.

      This is what I was thinking of doing. I bought everything I needed from GM parts direct about 4-5 months ago and have yet to attempt to put the AUX bank in. I really *really* do not want to take the dash apart. My truck has a center console (not the jump seat) so taking everything out will be a pain. I bought the panel with the cut-out for the AUX bank already so my thought and idea was to measure where the hole is cut in relation to my parking break button, transfer over to my truck, and cut using a sharp knife/small cutting wheel.

    • @mikearlt6327
      @mikearlt6327 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Michael-TH-cam98 I have the center console as well and didn't have to remove any of it to do my install. The most difficult part was getting the two screws into the fuse block that attaches along the lower edge of the frame behind the knee bolster. With some patience you will get it done. Too bad I didn't have a 7mm ratchet wrench as that would have made things much easier. If I was to do it again I would weld a nut to the head of the screws so that I could use a 5/16 or 8mm ratchet wrench instead.

    Hey, I know your video is a little dated, but it has been very helpful in my Auxbeam Switch Panel Install. My only question is, I ham running in to an issue with getting the head of the wiring through the gromet area due to its size. Is there another way to get it through the firewall?

  • @brianbouchard4170

    You don’t need to take half the dash apart to install the switch harness. Just pull the screw clips off the fuse box on the harness and put 2 short bolts in and lock washer and bolt it in instead of the stupid screws took like 30 min to do the whole install start to finish

    I tried looking up the part numbers and was able to find everything except for the Block Kit, apparently it’s discontinued. Do you know why? And do you have suggestions for an alternative?

    Do I have to run the power through the firewall just to power switch 5 for the roof beacon? Or can I just plug into the terminal and use the provided fuse block and only use switch 5?

    Where did you get your parts from? I went to GM parts store and they have everything, the only thing is that the knee bolster picture does not show the slot for the aux switches. Trying to do the same for my truck. Would this still be that part?
