Good evening, i have do have a query, is it advisable to use sponge biochemical filter when i am using biomedia for growing good bacteria in my fish tank. Will this sponge affect this good bacteria and decrease effectiveness? Can i use only biomedia and water care for keeping my fish tank clean? I am using rs electricals 10 watts water pump.
Firstly there is no such thing as a biochemical filter,
Secondly if you have a good filtration system with Bio Media you do not need anything else, yet you can use a sponge filter with airpump for increasing the oxygen in the tank

I don't have co2 system in my planted tank . As there are low demanding plants like hornwort,
