@@Thort-Sat of course you are welcome 😊
Best video I've found thus far! Thank you!
Happy to help thank you 😊
The video I was looking for, thanks for sharing it with us, really awesome and amazing and would like to recommend to everyone. ☺
Amazing video thank you fro sharing this video
so far my white elephant ear female betta is vibing with the cherry shrimp, but my male half king crown tail with a 10 gallon all to himself because he has no chill, blue dream shrimp, cherry shrimp, and mystery snails all were harassed by him. He is not a half king, he is a KING he owns that tank, not me, and that's why his name is Lunar King.
Love the name. Every betta is different. Hail to the king 👑
Great video! Helped me prepare for possible tank mates
Great to hear!
Thanks again for another awesome video! I was looking for some advice from someone; So I have a female betta, who lived with 3 other guppies and 4 tetras in a 20-gallon. They got along just okay, yah know the betta kinda chased the guppies a little but never hurt them. So I got 2 more guppies and one instantly got sick. It had a swim bladder from the store, so I took it out and put it in isolation for a couple days until it looked better after Epsom salt baths and so I put it back in the tank, well my betta who had never hurt a fish before, swam up to the guppie instantly and viciously ripped it's tail off, killing the guppie from shock. It was terrible to see, and it happened so fast! I thought it was all fine, yeah know my betta just sensed it was sick and wouldn't do it again, but after 2 days all my guppies had been killed by my betta except one that only had minor tears and I took out of the tank and I put it in another tank. I don't understand what's happened to my betta, she's downright vicious all of a sudden and now I only have tetras and her in the tank, because I'm worried she'll kill anything else I put in there. She's lived In other tanks with other fish too and had only been very mildly territorial and never hurt anything. I want to put some platies in, but I'm worried they'll resemble a betta too much to her. I don't know what to do, because I was breeding my guppies that she killed and now I don't know Of an easy-to-breed fish that she won't kill. Thanks, in advance for any words of wisdom.
Is she stressed by anything? My female betta only attacked & eat baby guppies but only 2-3 babies. The tank always harmony until I put a jar containing a betta. All of sudden she flared towards it & chase guppies. She kept hiding after the jar was removed & back to normal a few days later.. luckily
Hello! Excellent selection of compatible fish 👍
Thank you 👍
As someone who owns bettas this is very accurate✨
Thank you for your comment 😊
Some of the fish mentioned require hard water!
I have a few questions. Is it best to add the Betta last or at the same time as you put your other schools of fish? Also let’s say you have you have a Red Betta and you have a school of fish like, neon tetras. Having colorful fish that are similar to the red betta is that going to encourage the Betta to go after the fish similar to the color of the betta?… Is that a threat to the betta???
Also if you have any of the schools of fish like 3 to 4 sets of schools of fish and the Betta how large of a tank would you need? That would be 18 to 24 fish plus the Betta and maybe a bottom feeder, how large of tank would you need?
Thank you for answering my questions. I enjoyed this video soooo much. I love my Bettas!❤️
I would add them last. The bigger the school the better the chance.
Hey great video but I'm wanting to add cherry barbs to my tank I have a koi plakat betta fully grown. I'm curious if you think cherry barbs would be okay in my 50 gallon planted tank with my betta. Currently whats with him is 3 madagascar rainbow, 12 cardinal tetras , bristle nose, 3 Cory cats.
I think it should be okay - 50 gallon is a lot of space and you have a planted tanks. Main concern would be the rainbows brothering your betta but the tank is large so I don’t believe it will be an issue. The other would be flow but you are mitigating by going with a plakat.
@AquariumStoreDepot the rainbows don't bother him and he doesn't bother them. They actually will be next to each other in the tank and they just pretend they don't see each other lol.
Ive got a female betta and a Hillstream Loach and they live happily together in a 3gal! Im wanting to upgrade to maybe a 20gal but Im not sure what i want with them. I was kinda thinking Platys.... How many should i put in the 20gal? I maybe also get one or two more Hillstreams.
For a 20 gallon I would opt for something smaller that won’t reproduce so freely. Maybe some black neons would work. Muted colors so the betta will leave them alone. Highlight the rest of the tank with hardy plants
Hi Lisa and John. I have a 29 gallon tank and wish to setup a betta sorority and some other fish. I want 12 neon tetras, bristlenose precocious, 3 ottocinclus and maybe a few corys. How many bettas would I need. Thanks
Hi there. Lisa and John are KG Topicals. I think you meant to message a different channel. They are great people ^_^
Nice
thank for your sharing, i'll try it
You are welcome :)
I have a question I have a 55 gallon fish tank and I wanted to do a community tank wit a betta is it okay if I get more one tank mate for the Betta
Yes you can keep a betta with various tank mates in a 55 gallon tank 😊
@@AquariumStoreDepot is it possible to put two males in a large tank
@@trinyuwu5054 yes it is if it’s at least 3 feet and a planted tank. I have a blog post that outlines it. See here - aquariumstoredepot.com/blogs/news/why-do-betta-fish-fight
I’ve got 9 female bettas, an Angelfish, a pleco, and 2 female guppies. I’m going to get another trio of guppies and an extra male guppy, but I’m thinking about adding a trio of balloon mollies and a trio of platies. Any tips?
Just make sure you have a big enough tank for all of them 😊
@@AquariumStoreDepot thank you! My tank is a 55 gallon. I ended up adding 4 balloon mollies, 3 female and 1 male.
I have a veiltail Betta fish which is male and a little bit aggressive.I have also added hiding places in my tank so can you pls give me any advise that should I put some guppies with my Betta or not
How large is the tank?
@@AquariumStoreDepot 1 ft
Betta fish is one of the best choice for beginners. Love you Betta❤.
I 100% agree 😊
Every betta I have ever had couldn’t live peacefully with platies cause the betta would chase them
I was looking at that one with a side eye just bc the bettas I've had 🤣
i'm struggling with my rummynose tetras. added a betta to my 50 gallon tank yesterday and today they chase him and nip on his fins whenever he leaves his hideout. separated the betta into a breeding box for now, not sure what to do next
That’s a tough situation. Is your Betta longfin? A short fin plakat might be a better fit
The tetra school most likely perceives your betta as a threat
i would probably suggest letting the betta into the tank first and then slowly introducing each member of the school of tetras
this way there arent enough of them to be a threat in the early stages , and each of them should passively begin to accept eachothers presence in the tank
if its a male betta i would be extra careful to watch their behavior around the tetras in small numbers though , as they will pretty indiscriminately attack anything smaller than them that invades their territory
@@UnregisteredUsername i managed to find a solution, luckily. i noticed the tetras would be much less agressive during and after feeding, so with a timed feeder i (over)fed them in a 4hr intervall for a week or two. after that i went back to regular feeding and they all seem to get along now. some very rare chasing each other around, but no more nipping on fins!
@@AquariumStoreDepot it's a male long fin (full moon i think?) betta, and luckily I found a way to resolve the problem! now they swim along with each other just fine, mostly sharing their territories
@@Beta6666 glad everything got worked out !
For anyone that can help, I’d like to start a community tank in my 40gal breeder tank and I’d like to have multiple species. I was thinking about a betta for a centerpiece fish and have some bottom dwellers and some schooling fish. My tank is 78-80degrees F, live planted, has natural rocks, driftwood, rock hides, has aquaponics and bamboo hanging on the top of the tank and I’m trying to grow pothos but I only have 2 leaf cuttings. I only have one male betta in the tank currently because it was my moms and she needed to give him to me because she moved to a place that doesn’t allow animals (including fish) and it was my only cycled and prepared tank. He’s 6-7 years old so he’s very old for a betta so it’s a retirement home for him. I don’t plan on getting any fish until I add more plants and until he eventually passes away. He is very skinny but still eats like before. He’s shown signs of old age for the last few months which is expected. He’s still active, he just sleeps more. But if anyone can give me some stocking ideas for the tank, I’d love to know. And any criticism and advice is appreciated ❤
My tank water info in case anyone needs it:
Ph: 7.0-76 (closer to 7.2)
Ammonia: 0-0.25ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 5.0-10ppm
Get your ammonia down to 0 first before anything. After that you want a mid swimming schooling fish and a bottom dwelling group of fish to compliment the betta. Corys are great and black neons should have no issue. A betta is considered small for centerprise fish for a 40 gallon. You may want to consider a bigger gourami or paradise fish that is peaceful if your betta passes
I want to have rummynose and a beta fish together but it says on the internet rummy’s need 20gallon plus. but i feel the tank is too big just for a beta and 6 tetras
The rummies get a little bigger and they need a big group. You can try someone smaller like rasboras
Wow
Can neons go with raspboras?
Yes they can
👍👍👍👍👍
My betta lives with neon tetras and algae eater.. everything was okey, but today I found out someone bit of a piece of bettas fin.. I don’t know what to do😞
How large is the tank and how many Tetras did you have?
@@AquariumStoreDepot 5 tetras and it’s 35 litre
@@risingrat5491 had the same problem with my 12 rummy nose tetras in a 50 gallon.
i observed they did less nipping after feeding, so i fed them in shorter intervals (every 4h) and after a week or two they stopped.
another thung might be the small scool size that makes them more nervous?
i'm a beginner in fiskeeping though, so take my advice with a grain of salt
@@risingrat5491 Ya, the issue is not enough of them and probably not feeding them enough. You want 6-8 for a better school. You might want to try more shelter too in plants or artificial ones to calm them down.
@@AquariumStoreDepot I’ve made a lot of shelters and real plants there… I guess I’ll need bigger tank for bigger school
Did I hear you say you can keep bettas in a teeny tiny tank and show them in small vases? Or am I mistaken?
Said we can’t then pulled footage to show what not to do
Is it possible to just have the tank mate in a beta aquarium?
Yes, you have these tank mates in a betta tank. The tank just needs to be large enough to house them
How about celestial pearl danios?
Usually not a good fit due to temperature preferences
Always had a problem with mollies nipping anything with flowing fins they banned from my tank
Same here.. it was chasing my goldfish 24/7 so I transferred them with betta.. now surprisingly they are chasing betta too 😂😂 i think I should banned them 😢
I have vailtal male beta which is best tankmate for it
Depends on the size of the tank. Bottom dwellers like Cory catfish are the safest bets
@@AquariumStoreDepot 5 gallon
@@bittuk.-cy2vf thanks - the only option you have are snails. The tank is too small for anything else. You need at least 10 gallons to house other fish with the betta
I got my betta fish with my Africa cichlids
i don't recommend you to house a betta fish with a cichlid, the betta's famous long, flowing fins can become a problem. An aggressive cichlid can harass your betta and nip and tear his fin.
can I put betta and angel fish together?? please reply
Hi there. No - they can’t. I have a blog post I’m working about this subject and an upcoming video - stay tuned!
What about microrasbora galaxy?
These would be great fish, but they prefer cooler waters to the Betta Fish. Other fish are better suited.
I get new wiyh betta today
glow light tetra
Cardinal tetra

It does - you will always have the highest amount of success with a female over a male
