I have 2 mystery snails in my tank and a Hillstream loach with my goldfish .Hopefully some day in the future I will get some rainbow shiners added to my tank.

The clown loach does very well at a higher temp than the goldfish would. Loaches are also very active which doesn't make them good tankmates for the fancy type goldfish either. If anyone has had a different experience please chime in,
I've tried keeping many species with goldfish, and each time it was problematic. I've come to the conclusion they are best kept on their own. Every time there were issues with optimal temperature differences, goldfish being beaten up, goldfish eating someone, goldfish eating all the plants for the other fish to hide in, etc...
@tooakki, if you were feeding your pleco wafers, the goldfish love those! And tend to eat them all up, leaving non for the pleco when night comes around (they eat at night)
I Have a question I have a friend who is planning on giving me two of his mickey mouse platties but he has goldfish and other fish living with his platties. However I have read that goldfish and platties shouldn't be in a tank together because they will fight or that the goldfish could eat them but I have come acrossed a website that says platties will work with goldfish and you also recommend a platy as well . Do I take the chance? Or tell my friend I thought it over and I don't think it would be a good idea

Dojos don't have teeth that can hurt the Orandas but if they are chasing the Orandas it may cause stress on the Goldies. I would definitely keep an eye on the situation.

Define carp do you mean common goldfish, common carp, Crussian carp what type? Although 29 gallons is not big enough for that many fish maybe 2 goldfish alone at best with a ton of filtration

Hello.i got an black moor goldfish..she changed his colour in kind of gold...in last days i seen he have appeared on his body,tail,and the rest some black marks,,look like mold..i dont know is normal or should i do something?not long time ago one fish died after age or 3...was with his belly up most of the time and cant go deep in the water..let me know what i can do with this black moor with that black marks from his body?

Goldfish can live at that temperature the same way a betta can live in a half gallon bowl. It is bad for the fish, detrimental to their health, and they will not be able to really thrive.

My goldfish killed 40 plus guppies.... I have 3 medium sized goldfish now. Some black and gold.....but as long as their size is pretty equal they should be okay
I am thinking of housing Japanese swordtails with a pair of goldfish. The swordtails are live bearers and after watching this video, I am reconsidering this idea - the goldfish would eat my fries!
If you are looking into breeding them I would use a separate tank for the fry or a fish tank divider, this is because it is not just the goldfish that will eat the fry! You may even experience some swordtail cannibalism.

For some reason Pleco fish don't live very long with my Gold fish, they always die within a couple months or so 🤔

We have kept goldies with platties for many years and have never had an issue. We have had plenty of hiding spaces for the platties also.

My gold fish water sits at about 77degrees Fahrenheit with no issues infact they seem more active

It isn’t recommended as both the goldfish and the angelfish have different requirements and their temperaments are totally different.
NO, angelfish are tropical fish and will get sick at low temp. in the end all of your fish will die.
