    If you have more than a couple of pieces of hardware, you probably should connect them 🤔

    I too have the Behringer mixer you use, coupled with the Behringer Ultrapatch Pro. I have three audio sources permanently connected which leaves plenty for temporary inputs - other expanders, keyboards and iPad / phone, cassette deck etc. when needed. For MIDI I use the CME U6MIDIPro which is 3-in and 3-out on DIN sockets with a USB connection to the PC. If anyone is setting up a modest studio I’d recommend all of these for consideration. The U6MIDIPro has very flexible routing and also MIDI filtering so you can eliminate unwanted Sysex, CCs etc.

    Thanks for this, Ian..interesting as always. Being an "in the box" guy, this one doesn't really apply to me, though it's still good to take on board, for that day when you need to know. 😉👍

      Yes, far fewer connection issues in the box 😄

    Yeah if your constantly reconnecting stuff, it can put you of creating, the only reconnecting I do other than the modular system is, an analogue delay I move from mono synth to mono synth. :)

    HI Ian! Great video as usual!! Wondering why you do not use "Cards" to link to some of the videos you mention. (?) Is it because you would rather people watch the entire video first and then go to the links you provide? I am asking because I always wondered if using the "Card" option might harm your viewing time? Or is it helpful for people? Probably a judgement call. I sometimes link to other videos using cards, just because I can - I never really gave much thought if it was helping or hurting my view time.

    • @IanWaugh
      @IanWaugh  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi - good to hear from you, thanks for watching.👍
      I usually do use cards although I'm not sure how useful viewers find them. I tend not to click on them in other people's videos but that may just be me. I prefer clicking on links in the description. If people click away to a new video then it will obviously affect viewing time but I have no stats on that.

    Ian - I appreciate your efforts here. I would suggest being a bit more succinct and focused for the key points you want to make. I’d bet you could easily have made these points in 4 minutes rather than 10.

    another great upload...............................my only suggestion/criticism is that your audio isn't great. You have a great way of expressing yourself, and lots of knowledge, but the ambient sound in your room is really distracting to me. I'd highly recommend picking up a small Lav Mic - it would bring your video production to a whole other level.................(it's really the one thing that really separates you from the other uploaders)....I hope you can take this comment in the (hopefully helpful) way it was intended)

      Hi Will - sure, always open to suggestions and improvements 😊
      I mainly listen to my videos on a pair of old Yamaha computer speakers. I guess I'm used to them but I can't honestly tell much difference between my audio and that of many other channels. So the problem from my point of view is that I think my audio is fine 😱
      I watch Thinkmedia and their mic reviews - and struggle to tell the difference So I could get another mic but wouldn't know if it was any better or not
      Really appreciate your comment. Maybe you could suggest a mic to try?

    • @willswitchcraft
      @willswitchcraft 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I suggest just listening to a few seconds of your channel, then others with HEADPHONES.
      I can't really recommend anything in particular, but any close microphone placement would be a help.
      I just hear lots of background resonance in your room, which (personally) I find a little distracting......Otherwise, excellent content, as always.....
