I love the focus on building small systems! I have five small cases but they're all themed in one way or another to force myself to make some hard choices and force creativity. I've got an FX case with an Injectr for guitar processing, a drum synth case for minimal techno, a glitch/microsound case for idm, a crazy binaural stereo case for ambient music, and a monophonic bass case for acid lines. When I play live, I'll bring two cases with me and design a set around cross-patching the two different approaches. My favorites are the guitar/binaural combo and obviously the classic acid/drums.
This is a very nice approach of having several small rigs to choose from and then crosspatching to have different styles work together. Thanks for sharing!
Building tiny systems really puts a focus on the functionality of specific modules. I'd like to see this patch but in a case that allows for some modulation.
Thank you! I actually thought the same about the Spoiler, but this is what it says in the user manual: "Spoiler adajuts noise samplerate for each of the 3 analog drums BD/SD/CP". It is just not that noticeable on the BD I guess.
@@IhorMedia I think we should do a community service item together this year. I'll bring my Versios to you and we'll make a video for your channel. Then, when we're still friends, you take your versios to me (when the studio is done) and we'll do another one for my channel :).
Very cool what you can get out of such a rack Ihor! YES, I'd like to see where you take this in 104HP. Something like the Ladik Composer-N (quantized 4HP turing machine) might perhaps be useful for generating pitch sequences in small racks..?
@@IhorMedia I listened through a pair of audio technica ath-m50. I also compared it to some of the kicks in your other videos. Noticable difference imo.
Another great video! Also the best jam I've seen with QoP. For me the UI was too chaotic and illogical to enjoy. It requires constant attention. But I guess in a simple rack where it's the main character it works nicely
I use QoP with Eloquencer in my 4u modular case for a great portable techno drum modular setup. Works great with similar workflow to what I do on my Elektron boxes. Do you think Black Noir is worth getting to use for electronic music or keep QoP?
This was wild dude; I'd love to see you blow this up on a 104hp system and add some ore modulation sources! (You were going to do that anyway right ;) ?!)
Happy New yr Ihor my friend, your back on the Pulse of Modular, which is your Forte , my Vibe, lots more for 2023, your one of my main inspirations as well as Mark Booth, Tom Churchill, Cinematic Laboratory, MATTHS Blush Response many others Best wishes Martin👁🇬🇧🌈🔱🕸⚡️🎶🎶🎶🆒
Martin! My friend! Happy New Year! There will be more modular stuff (but not only). PS: I hope to see the Cinematic Laboratory tonight at Voltage Control Amsterdam!!!
Sick. Was looking at the Queen module but just went Digitakt after a few of your vids. Still deciding between ghost and mimeophon. Great patch. Love how simple the beat patch was and the rumble sounded sick. Didn’t know you could self duck. Is that specific to that module?
Can you route the Mixup directly to the case to enable you to slot something else in that position perhaps? There are a few options for that 1U HP size these days that could help a tiny bit in such a tiny case :)
But you can't change out parts of the groovebox, you can't put in crazy sequencers that have euclidean patterns or random generators, you generally have only 1 or 2 global LFO's you can't combine multiple modulation sources in weird ways to create insane modulations. You probably need to spent £4000 Before you can make really interesting music with Just Eurorack. I find Eurorack is generally good for GAS as you can usually afford a new module every month, and you have a month to learn it and incorporate it in your rack, or you can sell it and get something else, if you buy used the only loss is usually the cost of shipping. Private Facebook groups are best for this. Before buying Eurorack stuff, I was spending Thousands on full sized synths like the Virus or Sub 37 to get my fix. If I were entering this hobby I would get a digitakt or TR8s first, then a Behringer TD3 or MS101 to try out a synthesizer to complement the drum machine, then a Behringer Neutron to try out modular, then a DFAM if you want to go further into modular, you are probably down less than £1200 at this point on used gear. After all of that then you can choose to go to Eurorack if it's something you feel you would use. By this stage you have decided that you are willing and able to spend the money on this very expensive hobby. In saying all of that, if you don't want to spend the money I find that Bitwig can do anything that I use my modular for although it doesn't sound as good, or you could use VCV Rack to simulate eurorack.
104hp case set yes please. Nice stuff as always.
Thanks!

Yes
These small rig videos are priceless! I am definitely learning a lot. I’m starting to like my rig more as I take out modules and simplify. Thank you!

This is great. It’s amazing to see what can be done with such a small system with so many limitations.
Limitations seem to be the key to creativity! 😊
maaaaan, that's a fantastic tiny modular techno wonder
Another great video as usual. Keep up the awesome work brother!!
That dirty rumble at begining sounded also good.
Funny coincidence: in these days I'm considering QoP as my next buy and here comes your very very good video!❤
I love the queen of pentacles and the ghost, your videos have been amazing to build my live performance techno rig!! thanks!
Building tiny systems really puts a focus on the functionality of specific modules. I'd like to see this patch but in a case that allows for some modulation.
That versio rumble is damn thick. Wow.
It sounds dope (as always) but you have the patience of a saint! So much work to get the sounds compared to non-modular methods.
I just love these videos! I eat my lunch with them. Thanks for the good company, as always.
Thank you James! Glad to be a good company!
So good. I love the jam and all the ideas in there. Your videos have helped me so much.
Very glad to hear that! Thank you Colin!
The spoiler introduces bit reduction for snare and claps but not the kick afaik. Great video as usual!

I absolutely love your setup! Very well thought! Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Would love to see this setup expanded to 84 or 104hp for some modulation
Your videos are so good man, I've had them going all day at work. You create such a good environment in sound and visuals too. Keep them coming!
Thank you for feedback! I really appreciate it! ❤️
I like the transitions!
Excellent stuff Ihor.
Thank you!
BANGING!
Masterclass, thank you! 🙏
Nice one Ihor. I have this small ambient system and will build a drum machine in the same kind of case 6u52hp!
Great stuff man. Like how you do a lot with a small system.
Incredible what you get from this little case!
Thank you! It was great meeting you irl, my friend! We should meet more often 😊

Yes this is industrial banger ready setup! That kickdrum sound is so damn good!
You think? It sounded pretty thin to my ears. Like the videos though, keep em coming :)
Thanks! Out of curiosity, what was your listening situation?
@@IhorMedia I listened through a pair of audio technica ath-m50. I also compared it to some of the kicks in your other videos. Noticable difference imo.
You can route the kickdrum back into the aux of the qop so you can use the filter, drive and fx.
Yes! There are many audio routing ideas with the Queen! But in this one I intentionally didn't want kick to be affected by the filter 😉
Hi Ihor- thanks so much for this cool video. Your work is amazing and I love your channel! Keep it up :)

Nice rumble!
Really cool video. I wasn't aware of your channel before this. Earned a follow for sure.

You should also swap Queen for trinity and see what you get! it looks like you'd get some modulation space inside the rack too!
Brilliant demo & tutorial Ihor !
Ihor can make techno from any kind of stuff
Haha!
It's a YES from me
I'd like to see the 104hp version with a synth voice and a pamelas workout!

haha clicked on it thinking it was @RickyTinez. very similar lighting...

@@IhorMedia it’s at Paradiso or is that same place where STOOR did gig SpeedyJ, Surgeon???
It was at Paradiso! Sorry, couldn’t reply yesterday on time
😁If you like tiny systems, it sounds like you need an Erica synths pico system II 😁
Nice 1. If you could do a similar setup for tech house - less rumble and a funky bass - I'd be very happy.
Noted! Thanks for sharing this idea!
I think i need to flash imitor after seeing this, very cool!
Also do you play live? If not you should consider doing it
I've never played live yet. Considering ;) Thanks!

That is indeed possible! I was thinking to put Endorphines cockpit in 1u as a mixer, it can also be directly connected to the Palette. Choices!
@@IhorMedia I too have been eyeing that Cockpit 1U! (I suggest getting a Y-splitter for channel 1 too, 2 mono to TRS)
Neat.

why you have no double connectors ?

"ImitIhor Versio" 😮 How?
This is a new prototype… just kidding 😝 It’s just a panel

Imitor 😉

is that Kick sounds weak ? Or its just me?
Ok it sounds great BUT you could buy a groovebox for just the cost of the case/enclosure. I bet the total cost is over £2000.
