Here is a wild trick. I once had a massive internal panic attack before taking off. I had my mask and sunglasses on, my heart was beating out of my chest. The flight was held at the gate asking passengers if they wanted to get off take flight vouchers etc.. I literally thought it my head, I am going to ring for medical attention but I sat there. Once we were in air, my calm down was when the flight staff started working on the in cart service. For whatever reason.. that snapped me back to life. Now, anytime I get on a plane my calm down in is initial in flight service. Its weird I know.

I always feel calm as soon as they start serving. I think it's because if they didn't, it might imply something is wrong. If they're happy serve even while we are still climbing, then it must be okay! I also am happy to see the smiles on the flight attendants faces. This is their daily office after all!

because of you I am motivated to beat my 12 years old agoraphobia. I had years, where I could travel, but since the pandemic my symptoms are worse. yesterday I visited a friends birthday 46 km away from my home, over the autobahn. and I was so so afraid. But I did it. Thank you for sharing and giving hope.

Man you have such courage to not only do this, but also to film it and show your vulnerability. I watch your videos and it’s like watching myself. The cardiophobia, the fear of being too warm, being too far from a hospital… I wish you all the very best on your journey and recovery.

I've been dealing with a speed phobia for a year. I can drive, but I can't sit next to someone while they're driving. I can't take the train, and I can't fly at all. My family lives in another country, and I really want to visit them, but I can't even get on a train. 😞

I can’t decide if you inspire me or make me feel worse 🤣 your braver than me il give you that. I picture my panic attack being a mega freak out on a plane you seem to be able to contain yours better am paranoid il be freaking the staff out and how freaked out I’d be 😂

I felt every wave of panic and trigger, I feel for you so much because I can truly relate! Agoraphobia and panic disorder is not easy. It really feels like you’re gonna die.
Idk if this could help anyone else but I just learned the other day that some people have experienced a great reduction in panic attacks by taking iron supplements in safe amounts. The low ferritin blood levels (which isn’t routinely tested for) seems to be correlated with anxiety and panic symptoms. I am on iron now and only a few days in but hoping that I get some relief soon if this is a missing link.

It happens to be as well that I have felt some panic and anxiety these few years and at one health check up , it turns out I’m really low in ferritin and my hb, I feel much better after taking the supplement and feel like I can deal with the anxiety better. Hope you are feeling better after the iron supplements as well!

little details have been amazing- that you chose the seat beside exit as it is considered to be the safest. or that I’am safe t-shirt at just the right spot because we tend to look down first thing once we feel anxious so I apply this trick of looking up and moving my body more when something happens

Hey! I totally feel you, I gotta take a long haul flight in about a month and I'm very anxious about it. Good thing? I'm getting married. Bad thing? It's in a different country and I travel alone. I'm trying to get ready this whole month so if you wanna do this together I'm totally down for it :)

I'm flying to London from Belgrade alone for the first time in 5 years on june 14th and I must say I am terrified (especially of the flight, knowing I'm "trapped") and also since I've never been in England before, and even though I'm visiting a friend there I'm constantly thinking WHAT IF I can't handle these two weeks and it turns out to be a nightmare of a holiday.. 🥺
Anyways, thank you so much for sharing and doing everything you do and I hope you're well ❤️

Also, one of the first things I do after taking my seat is aim that air vent at my face. That seems to help with some of my anxiety, and just sticking with those slow, steady breaths.

Do you think we will ever get over anxiety? or is it a life long thing we have to live with? Also, I don't know if this will help you but I have been telling myself I am fine and I'm not going to die. That helps me snap out of an anxiety attack as soon as it happens. I am stuck in my house and I can't leave due to Anxiety attacks but hopefully I can get over it soon.

I think it's called a Kneippanlage. It's just a cold pit of water for some type hydrotherapy called Kneipp therapy. There were a lot of them in the town. It was an extremely hot week so I put my arms in there for a while 😅.
