    Dude, ur a hero mate. To face ur anxiety face on is like going on a battle mission . It is no joke man. Anxiety does mysterious thing to you and at the same time it is your friend. It reminds you that you are alive. Make friends with it. Just like in any relationship there will be ups and downs.

    This isn't the whole episode, just the first day because there's a lot of footage. Let me know if you prefer it broken down like this, or just want one long episode even if it's above an hour long. Thank you!

      Just came across your channel and I have the same fears and anxiety I booked a 2 hr flight on February to face the fear, trying to stay level headed but at times anxious thoughts would invade my mind

    I've struggled with anxiety disorders for years and I still do , and reading on the internet often emphasizes focusing on your breathing, which can actually make your anxiety worse because you're unconsciously trying to suppress something you perceive as dangerous at that moment. At least, that's the signal you’re sending to the body and the body sends to you with all kind of alarms going off. What helps me reduce the intensity and duration of panic attacks is actually accepting them when they occur, no matter how difficult or heavy they feel. It's challenging, but it shortens their duration and weakens their grip.
    Another helpful strategy is intentionally trying to evoke the feeling of anxiety, because paradoxically, it often doesn't surface when you want it to. That's why it tends to strike when you're afraid it might, as you inadvertently let it build up during those moments.
    Remember it’s not a disease we have or a disorder, what we feel is more a spiritual awakening.
    Remember Without the storms and tears of life, the beauty of our inner flowers would never truly bloom❤

      Focusing on my breathing never helped me, always just made it worse! Acceptance is definitely the best, albeit challenging way that I’ve found helps!

    As I was sat watching this it was like watching myself when I am anxious. I’m not at a place where I could even imagine myself on a plane but as I write this I am on holiday in the UK. The part where you said about learning to trust yourself again resonates so much. ❤

    Thank you for sharing raw footage, I appreciate your videos a lot! I’m in Athens right now on holiday and mannn..it’s so BUSY, even in November but I’m challenging myself everyday to do something new. Went to the agora today..was kinda emotional. We can do this guys, step by step 🫶🏼 it’s not about perfection, it’s about showing up for yourself because we deserve it.

    Mate, I am traveling to Latvia in less then two weeks. First it's going to be a trip in a mini travel van to Budapest airport, then if it all goes will board the plane. I am freaking out over the whole thing and youtube isn't helping with showing more of terrible airplane crashes instead of how to handle the trip when you are super anxious. I am grateful and appreciate you documenting your airplane journey. No one does it and it is important because as I mentioned three hour flight awaits me, so yeah it's going to be a bumpy ride.
    We definitely need more of this type of content. Traveling with anxiety in raw manner.

    Proud of you mate!
    I have intense cardiophobia and generalized anxiety. I can’t even walk or stand up for 2 minutes because I fear I’ll cause irregular heart beat or the dizziness will make me fall over. It’s horrible but I’m dealing with it day by day. 😅

    Like you said, anxiety makes normal things hard to do and it’s harder to explain it to people who don’t experience it. Most of my flight anxiety is anticipatory. Once I know I have to travel my entire being feels the stress and anxiety. It’s really exhausting to keep fighting the intrusive thoughts. Xanax has been a huge help for me and I start taking it the night before I have to fly. ❤

    You are amazing and so brave. I've only been on one short plane trip in my life over one province and I was probably around 13. I was nervous then but now at 37 I am pretty terrified...the enclosed space and being thousands of feet in the air plus my random anxiety/ panic that comes up for no reason some days. Being stuck in a plane then stuck in an unfamiliar place freaks me out. My question is, do you take anything like Clonazapam before you fly or do certain things to help control the physical panic feelings? Usually walking and fresh air is my go to but obviously can't do that on a plane

    • @anxiety_fitness
      @anxiety_fitness  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much! Yes flying really is so daunting, but I find once in the air, the curiosity takes over more than the fear. It’s so interesting and amazing to be up there, when before all I could imagine was the fear. It takes that effort and trust to push yourself to go tho. I don’t take anything, I did get some Diazepam from the doctor before I had a 4 hour flight as worse case scenario but luckily the flight wasn’t bad so I have never needed it. I hate taking things and one of my big fears is medication anyway, i won’t even take paracetamol for a tooth ache until i’m in unbearable pain, and by that point it doesn’t really work 😆. I really just sit and embrace it, nothing special besides listening to some music, watching something etc.

    Great work man, just out of interest how long has it been since youve flown? I havent left the country since 2019 and i am terrified to do it 😂. Just worrying i wont be able to cope without being able to go home when i want.

    • @anxiety_fitness
      @anxiety_fitness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I have flown a few times now in the last couple of years. Longest flight was 4 hours. Many years ago I used to fly to America every year 8 hours +. The first time I flew since being agoraphobic it had been about 5+ years I think. Your 'Safe zone' will switch to wherever you are, it becomes your 'home' but you'll need to work on stretching that too! This 'leash' that we have is just our own made up restriction, remember that!

    Can you please reply to me? My flight is in two days and I am extremely anxious 😢 I think about cancelling my flight because I have decided to break that fear and travel the world after 8 years of not travelling. But it feels so weird when I think of being in a new country other than my own. Travelling in airplane is scary as hell to me. Being in different country! I just don’t know what to do 😢

    • @anxiety_fitness
      @anxiety_fitness  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The panic itself is traumatic even if nothing bad happens it still feels terrifying. Also it’s physiological effects happening, not just mental, the brain doesn’t know the difference between a fake or imagined danger vs a real danger, so it will react physically for both cases which puts the body in fight or flight, even if there isn’t a real danger there.
