Everybody who speaks the truth and gains a platform for the masses to hear the truth, dies before their time… thankfully the message lives on…thank you for posting this… it has resonated with me

It's the evil eye. It was spoken of by king Solomon as the reason half of all men are in their graves. It is why celebrities kill themselves all the time.

You and the other Terence reuploaders are doing a great service to humanity by keeping his message alive. I and many others owe our awareness of his ideas to people like you. Terence was an extraordinary thinker and these ideas are too important to lose. Thank you for doing your part. But please lose the ads would you? They are such a banal break to the immersive flow of the talk and I can't imagine you're making much money from them anyways

Yeah I get what you're saying. I actually don't make any money from ads, because I'm not in the TH-cam partner program , and it won't let me disable ads until I hit 1000 subscribers and enter the program. From what I am told, that is the only way I can disable them

@@mindovermeTV Oh I see. That's an annoying little trick on the part of TH-cam. I'm subbing. Hopefully you'll hit thousand soon. Again, thank you for going through the trouble of uploading these. The world is that much better for it.

Thanks for your kind comments. Alot have been uploaded already, but I'm reuploading my favorite ones, and trying to edit out background noise and extra dragged on parts. But yeah, if I ever get added to the Partner program and let any ads at all, I may only allow one before the video and no more afterwards; or maybe no ads at all

Some people really speak highly of this guy, and given how much I like Alan Watts, I always expect to like T.M., but I always end up feeling like I'm listening to a nonsensical looney toon. Either that, or someone saying something that probably sounds profound to folks who already exist in certain echo chambers, but comes off to me as him just appropriating culturally pre approved narratives about the environment or something as if it was a personal magical revelation he received under the influence. 🙄
This one peaked my interest a little bit, as the philosophical roots he touched on approximately 2k years ago would be interesting in more depth, but it lacks the detail I'd be interested to hear, and at the same time I'm put off by the fact the ideologies he's praising directly fed into the creation of Communism, Fascism, and National Socialism, which is covered in considerable detail by James Lindsay.
Am I missing something? Or is this guys ramblings just not for me? I ask because I figured an actual fan might be able to make a case for what's good about him, in case I am actually missing something despite that I usually/generally find him a bore.

He was actually against all of those things: communism, fascism, and national socialism. I also like Alan Watts. The thing that draws me to Terence's style, is his way of breaking things down. I think his tone has a unique flow and his sense of humor helps quite a bit. Some people can't stand him though, but everyone has a right to their opinion

Uhh yeah.. I think we would all like an example of what you’re even referring to here lol because if McKenna comes off to you as specious or ‘unoriginal’ I can’t imagine how you would be able to tolerate most of the other nominal philosophers or public philosophical speakers like Alan Watts. McKenna is one of the only erudites who’s words are actually ahead of the curb even today. Many or most ‘psychedelic people’ even throughout the 2010s and early 2020s often conceptually gravitated towards ideational components of the “New-Age movement“ which began in the 1970s. But McKenna saw right through the New-Age’s sensibilities and auxiliary rhetoric, even in the early 1990s. What he says and posits is essentially the opposite of “misappropriation” so I genuinely don’t understand what you’re alluding to. He’s kind of well known and/or established for postulating notions which have not really been postulated before. This doesn’t seem like a very coherent “critique” considering it doesn’t align with reality much at all.

Seems like the worst “disinformation agent” one could possibly imagine then considering how accurate his assessments were. You know some of us aren’t actually here as “students” per se, some of us are just fellow “scholars” or experts in the field(s) who are here simply to witness a breath of fresh air and/or just affirm that pretty much everything he’s saying is correct.
