Met him in a lucid dream inside the cosmic web once; we were sat in a roman-esque plaza on fine marble steps. We were talking little nothings to each other from what I can remember; the sense of having a nice smoke and an interesting convo with someone in a beer garden etc. But then I kind of went 'full lucid', and asked him 'but what if you take too much?', referring to mushrooms.
He suddenly stopped speaking, and everything fell away except for his own comforting visage staring into me. He smiled that Buddha half-smile, a look of intense knowledge but inherently silent.
He stayed silent. And as in answer to my enquiry, he faded away into the ether.
      It was brilliant.

@@julianmendoza5044 I understand your feelings of doubt. I first learned about Terence during my years working in the Rave scene of the early 90's, when my partner and I ran a Smart Bar service. Terence was often invited to give lectures during raves, as part of the ambiance or in the Chill Out room. He was a very real person, and so are the lectures. ☺

I have no idea where I get into when Terrence starts to speak. It is like a circus, a library, a discotheque, a historical indepth lessen, reading a dictionary, chemistry, a sit in with Jung, a lucid dream, leprachaun dance party, and a kaleidoscope…all at once. He makes colors and trickling streams my mind, and he is just talking.

Taking a chance here - but the following excerpt is from a book called, “The Nature of the Psyche,” by author/channel Jane Roberts, because it seemed so *relevant* for Terence enthusiasts. In fact, I think of Terence (RIP) as an ideal Pope, had he lived; while in relation, I see Seth, the discarnate being channeled through Jane, to be as “the Cosmic Pope.” His knowledge and Terence’s info dove-tail nicely, since both talk about the hidden vistas of our own inner psyche/soul (though Seth claims that inner exploration is best done in the sober state.)
This is just a taste of what Seth talks about. I'm presenting this excerpt because this is the book I am currently reading, “The Nature of the Psyche,” and the following seemed so very relevant for Terence fans and spiritual seekers alike (although, the better INTRODUCTORY Seth books would probably be, “The Nature of Personal Reality,” or, “Seth Speaks.” See below.)
      SETH Excerpts
From, “The Nature of the Psyche”
      By Jane Roberts
      Chapter 7; Session 779, pp.105
“Almost any question that you can ask about God, with a capital, can be legitimately asked about the psyche as well.
“It seems to you that you know yourself, but that you take the existence of your psyche on faith. At best, it often seems that you are all that you know of your psyche, and you will complain that you do not know yourself to begin with.
“When you say: “I want to find myself,” you usually take it for granted that there is a completed, done, finished version of yourself that you have mislaid somewhere.
“When you think of finding God, you often think in the same terms. NP; 105.
“Now you are “around yourself” all the time. You are ever becoming yourself. In a manner of speaking you are “composed” of those patterns of yourself that are ever coming together.
“You cannot help but be yourself.
“Biologically, mentally, and spiritually you are marked as apart from all others, and no cloak of conventionality can ever hide that unutterable uniqueness. You cannot help but be yourself, then.
“When you ask: “What is my psyche, or my soul, or who am I?” you are seeking of course for your own meaning as apart from what you already know about yourself. In that context, God is as known and as unknown as you are to yourself. NP; 105.
“Both God and the psyche are constantly expanding - unutterable, and always becoming.
“You will question, most likely, “Becoming what?” for to you it usually seems that all motion tends toward a state of completion of one kind or another.
“You think, therefore, in terms of becoming perfect, or becoming free. The word “becoming” by itself seems to leave you up in the air, so to speak, suspended without definitions.
“If I say: “You are becoming what you already are,” then my remark sounds meaningless, for if you already are, how can you become what is already accomplished?
“In larger terms, however, what you are is always vaster than your knowledge of yourself, for in physical life you cannot keep up with your own psychological and psychic activity.” NP; 105.
“…You think that your own consciousness is the only logical culmination of your body’s reality.
“You read yourself in a certain accepted fashion. In the “entire book of life,” however, just physically speaking, there are interrelationships on adjacent levels that you do not perceive, as other portions of your own biological consciousness or biological language relate to the entire living substructures - psychic, spiritual, and biological - of which you have hardly any comprehension at all.” NP; 106.
      ***************************
“Seth Speaks” is my favorite Seth book, and although it is more of a general introduction to the immensity of this genre of knowledge -- it will still BLOW YOUR MIND!
“The Nature of Personal Reality” gives an excellent, practical-specific framework of the Seth knowledge; and his short ESSAY in the Preface, gives one a narrowed-down treatise of *the nature of our deeper selves.* I’ve been a Seth student for 50 years. It is THE answer that I, and most others (!!), IMO, have been personally seeking - a sense of meaning and purpose to this (supposedly) hum-drum existence. They are *all* “my” Bible.

In the “entire book of life,” however, just physically speaking, there are interrelationships on adjacent levels that you do not perceive, as other portions of your own biological consciousness or biological language relate to the *entire living FABRIC OF THE WORLD. In physical terms you are alive because of* substructures - psychic, spiritual, and biological - of which you have hardly any comprehension at all.” NP; 106.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:01 🌟 Terence McKenna discusses the casual nature of the audience at his workshop, emphasizing that many people attend for their own reasons.
01:29 💭 McKenna explores how conscious processes, particularly the use of psychedelic plants, have led people to seek spiritual depth in their lives.
02:36 🌐 McKenna highlights the collective and historical dimensions of psychedelic experiences, often overlooked in discussions.
03:27 💻 McKenna draws parallels between the impact of computers and networks on society and the effects of psychedelic substances, emphasizing boundary dissolution and information globalization.
05:15 🧠 McKenna reflects on the uniqueness of the psychedelicexperience compared to other aspects of human existence, such as sexuality.
06:47 🌌 McKenna discusses the tension and resistance surrounding the acceptance of the psychedelic experience in human history.
12:27 🚪 McKenna suggests that psychedelic plants may have played a role in the emergence of human consciousness and language.
15:25 🔄 McKenna introduces the concept of the "archaic revival," emphasizing a return to shamanism and ancient practices in the 20th century.
22:58 🌍 McKenna suggests that humanity is undergoing a metamorphosis, transitioning from a tribal state to a global, interconnected species.
26:45 🌀 McKenna proposes the idea that the universe is designed to produce and conserve novelty, with each advancement occurring more rapidly than the last.
30:12 🌠 McKenna speculates that history is being pulled towards an attractor, leading to a culmination of hidden dimensions and self-discovery in the near future.
32:02 🌌 Terence McKenna believes that human history is a process of climbing a ladder of material organization, leading to a dimension beyond imagination.
32:55 🔄 Terence McKenna likens the process of change to death and birth, suggesting that coming to terms with it is essential.
34:20 🔮 McKenna is optimistic about radical change, believing there's a positive transformation awaiting humanity on the other side of the leap into the unknown.
34:47 💊 He views psychedelics as a means to eliminate anxiety, not by sedation but by hyperdimensionalizing individuals and making them more comfortable with the future.
35:29 🧩 McKenna argues that nature is not mute and that understanding it helps us understand ourselves and our purpose in life.
36:08 🎓 Life is seen as a puzzle to be solved through penetrating intelligence, leading to liberation from fear and worry.
45:05 🌀 McKenna sees a clash between the linear, mechanical, and material print-based culture and a networked, psychedelic, polyamorous youth culture.
46:12 ⏰ McKenna believes that time is speeding up, and humanity is on the brink of a profound transformation.
56:06 🔄 History is considered a temporary phenomenon, and McKenna suggests that humanity is moving towards a different kind of existence, embracing the flow of time and change.
01:02:59 🌿 Terence McKenna discusses the idea of determining spiritual enlightenment based on the number of psychedelic trips, highlighting the silliness of such a notion.
01:04:21 🍄 Terence McKenna mentions the legal status of Salvia divinorum, a psychoactive plant, and suggests it could provide a shamanic experience, but acknowledges the potential complications.
01:05:42 🌐 Terence McKenna discusses the contrasting views on shamanism, with some believing it should be devoid of psychoactive plants, while others argue in favor of their use.
01:11:30 🪙 Terence McKenna emphasizes his pragmatic approach to altered states of consciousness, emphasizing that what works should be used, whether through psychedelics, meditation, or other means.
01:13:33 🌌 McKenna advocates for a democratic doorway to altered states of consciousness, rejecting spiritual hierarchies and emphasizing that such experiences should be available to all.
01:24:43 🌅 Terence McKenna discusses the potential future where human imagination and technology create a reality without limits, challenging our concepts of reality and self.
01:30:52 🌿 Terence McKenna argues that the legacy of the 1960s counterculture has influenced fields like fashion, design, architecture, and city planning, indicating the impact of unconventional thinking on mainstream culture.
01:32:09 💊 McKenna contends that the pursuit of happiness, as mentioned in foundational American documents, should encompass the right to use psychedelics. He believes that drug-related issues stem from inflated prices and criminalization rather than the substances themselves.
01:33:30 🚫 To avoid trouble with authorities regarding psychedelics, McKenna suggests not profiting from them and growing limited quantities for personal use. He also sees a growing sympathy for psychedelics in society and anticipates gradual changes in perception.
01:36:26 🧠 McKenna discusses the expansion of consciousness and how psychedelics can dissolve cultural, linguistic, and social structures, enabling individuals to explore a more profound and less constrained state of mind.
01:40:53 🌌 McKenna explains that the human mind's boundaries can dissolve, leading to a state of non-locality, non-dualism, and a-temporality, which he views as a dissolving of culturally ingrained structures and an expansion into the unspeakable.
01:54:07 🍄 McKenna theorizes that early human consumption of psilocybin mushrooms in their diet may have led to the dissolution of male dominance hierarchies, promoting group bonding, sharing, and cognitive development, until the decline of available mushrooms caused a shift toward dominance-based societies.
01:59:11 🌍 Terence McKenna suggests that primitive societies living in harmony with nature and using certain plants had a different, more balanced lifestyle.
02:00:29 🍎 The story of Adam and Eve in the Bible's Garden of Eden may be an echo of the tension between the use of a special plant and knowledge.
02:03:26 🌱 Humans have a unique relationship with substances and can exhibit addictive behavior unlike any other animals.
02:06:59 🌈 McKenna believes that the reconnection with plants, especially psychedelics, can lead to a more authentic and balanced human existence.
02:09:22 🧠 Expanding consciousness through psychedelics is seen as a moral imperative to address issues like racism, sexism, and social injustice.
02:13:25 🌿 McKenna believes that psychedelics connect us to a deeper, natural intelligence, which we've lost touch with, and this reconnection can lead to a better future.
02:17:04 🧠 Psychedelics may have played a role in the rapid evolution of the human brain, leading to the emergence of complex mental processes and abilities.
02:21:38 🌌 The use of psychedelics might be a way to tap into the divine imagination and unlock hidden aspects of human consciousness.

Him talking about male ego being an issue I find interesting with the state of our current situation. We have swung very much the other way into unrestrained compassion of the female ego. Compassion isn't a virtue in and of itself either

He has emphasised more than once that its ego period.
He said he calls attention to male ego because that has been the dominant force for at least 15,000 yrs. He also stated that replacing male ego with female ego wasnt the answer to the issue.
Regardless any of that there has been no reversal , not even close. At most it is a theatrical display catering to females that has lead to a 10 % change in both political leadership and CEO positions.
Male ego is still the dominant force in the world regardless of any so called compassion toward females ego.
And sadly the pandemic lockdown not only hurt businesses and individuals financially and mentally, it also equaled an unparalleled increase in violence against females.
Sexual slavery is at an all time high in the west.
And outside of the west females are subjected to even worse misery and servitude.
So all in all very little progress has been made in this area since McKenna gave these talks.
In spite of how the AVERAGE male may feel with the voice of the media telling him he's less than he male ego still runs the world.

    • @spearcat710
      @spearcat710 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@bellezavudd maybe he has mentioned it more than once, but he's mentioned the male ego many more times and I would say emphasizes that more than anything. And I think you underestimate the change in the culture personally. It begins to shift back the other way again already, but still its effects on the culture are palpable. I mean I get what he's saying about it being the driving force mostly for the a lot of the people at the top. I was just commenting on how you could see the contrast recently. And it was just interesting.
Also, what a misandristic view of the world I know there's lots of bad out there for women but they don't have a monopoly on misery and servitude. Men go to war, men die in the workplace, they were also slaves, they lose their children, they end themselves more and the list goes on for the AVERAGE male, they don't really have it any better, just different problems to deal with. Very often because of other evil men. So I get that the male ego causes a lot of problems but men suffer with it too. It more a problem of the rich and influential. Evil uses whatever channel it can for power, whether that's with a swastika, machismo or a rainbow flag, they have no shame. The average men and women have suffered greatly together and also survived together. A lot of powerful men and women throughout history have been tyrants, but a lot of the women were especially brutal when it called for it and when they were able to. Straight white men are pretty much the only group that have been in power and willingly extended out their same rights and privileges to every other group. And look at the thanks they get lol, vilified and hated for creating one of the most free cultures ever. Both saviors and slavers. Anyway I hope you have a great day and good luck out there!

When will be the next war... probably coming to a town near you, if the Trumpsters have their way. Capitalism has empowered certain people to reach for ever-more and more wealth, at everyone else's expense, and will defend it at all costs. All while, they rot inwardly.
It's not the ego that is inherently bad -- the ego is just the portion of the soul that looks outward, into the world. What's messed-up is our cultural software - religion, science, education, rampant consumerism. We need to show people that there is an inner realm which is the source of all good things in life, the virtues like kindness, and feelings of one-ness with all others, as well as Nature Herself.

'Meme' was originally coined by Richard Dawkins and used in his book The Selfish Gene, which was published in 1976. He cited earlier geneticists , anthropologist, and pathologist as inspiration for the term.

35:35 I would say the trick is to make the meaning. We have at present enough scientific knowledge of the Universe to understand all of the aspects of reality relevant to day-to-day human existence. Hence, we can potentially modify all aspects of the Universe in service of our ideas. As a result, the Universe is undeveloped potential and when it comes to undeveloped potential, we favor what it could be over what it is. Hence, we have the option to live in the Universe of what could be rather than the Universe that is. What could be is never meaningless because it is up to us. We determine what the Universe will be in the future guided by our ideals.
The Universe is play-doh. Undeveloped play-doh is meaningless, but what we develop it into is not.
Hence, this malleable Universe of ours is a medium for the expression of our conceptual whims.
