This is amazing. I remember that week. I was a senior in HS and my sister was preparing for her wedding the following weekend. She was a little nervous cause she heard about a storm and was worried about the wedding. We are from staten Island, NY and nothing happened here. No rain, no wind. In fact this day here on Oct 30, 1991 was a clear bright sunny but cold day. I cannot believe all this was happening. I found all of this out many years later by TH-cam. Even Long Island received some really bad weather. But here in Staten Island you would have never noticed
I was 20yrs old. Working in Burlington - was a little windy there. Got home and was like what the heck? Police wouldn't allow cars to my parents house on Grandview. So me and my buddy walked from his house on Beach Rd. Sand was piled 6ft high in some places down the Point. Reach my house and everything in the cellar was junk of course. Good video.
I remember this very well. I was stationed in Boston aboard the Spencer. We left port when the air national guard helo ditched. What a ride, I wish I had a video camera at the time to catch open ocean footage. God, that was back in VHS days lol.
Suzi Lindblad, yes they did. I was 4 years old back then. Our US Coastguard really is the credit to all them. They couldn't save everybody though. Perfect Storm was a great movie! Its sad it happened the way it did
Hi, I'm using this video for a research project in my Juniors Nature Lit class on HUrricanes and the Andrea Gail... just thought you'd find that interesting
I lived through it! Was crazy in my hometown of Gloucester,MA… I was a senior in high school, my friends and I ditched early in the day cuz we could see from the top floor of the school that it was getting INTERESTING in the harbor LOL…. The shit I saw that day still sticks with me 32 years later!! Mother Nature is a beast and the Ocean…. IS THE MOST POWERFUL FORCE IN THE WORLD
Granddads boat was at moored off madaket before the storm. Afterwards it was in town. A damn miracle it didn't float out to sea and circled its way back into the sound.

I like the dude caulking the door/window around 3:20 in the video then the firetruck creates a nice wake!
