Let's talk about Mayo in the Oil Filler on a Smart Car!
I have been meaning to touch on this subject for a while now and I needed some fresh air to help aid recovery of a cold, so I have one here for you today.
I am seeing this a lot on Smart Car forums and it's the same old story... checking Smartys oil isn't the quickest having to remove the engoine bay panel and all... So I see why some people miss it...
If you are in any uncertainty after watching this video consult a trained mechanic.
Thanks for all your tips on what to look for on a used smart , my wife went to look at one and I told her what I had learned to look for from your videos, it was a bad one top would only move half way and the floor was soaked with water under the carpet and some rust issues.
Blocked rainaway channels. There’s a great website called vehiclescore.Co.uk. Free! Pop the registration plate in and gives you a score out of 999 and breaks down why it’s good/bad.

Possibly just condensation we used to see that alot in the slant 6 Chrysler engines once you have it it's hard to get rid of.

@smarte.r.1450 It could always be a coolant leak but then the oil usually looks like coffee with too much cream in it lol.
@@darrenmcadam2318 agreed. But then again I do prefer the Winston Wolf approach to coffee. 😉
My smart was driving home and it got the temperature gauge light and it's smoking white smoke like crazy and coolant dripping out the tail pipe and now it seems like it barely wants to move?
@@willfreethemfreethem7671 well that sounds like a failed head gasket for sure. If the coolant tank is low. And there is loads of white gunk in the oil filler cap and white smoke out the exhaust pipe these are critical failures. Don’t drive it. Get it sorted immediately
@@smarte.r.1450 the funny thing is the oil and coolant didn't look milky or anything but that's what I thought too I'm thinking about giving it a whack and trying to do it wife said she was gonna sell it for 500$ I said if I can't fix it I can part it out for more than that lol

Hello I don't know where else to ask this so I'll try here, I have a 2007 451 diesel and at around 50kph+ I feel wind coming in from somewhere around the door speaker and into my legs, any ideas what this could be?
Hi. Thanks for reaching out. I’m thinking a door seal has perished and not been replaced or, the front end body work has been removed and not replaced correctly thus leaving a gap where the front inner wing meets the bottom of the A pillar in the door hinge area. Or, maybe try checking it’s not your mind playing tricks… check that the cabin air filter has not been removed and not replaced … finally try joining a Facebook group like Smart 451 Forum” finally one of the best resources is a website called evilution.com you could try there.
