I would like C63 be V6+Electric. That would make C-class a proper racing monster, just like F1 V6 hybrid combo.
Obviously I’d prefer a v8, but it would be nice to see that, even though we already are getting another 4 banger :/
Unfortunately Mercedes has already said that the new C63 will be a hybrid 4 cylinder, possibly in the form of a regular hybrid and the electrified turbo. But the good news is that this new C63 will have 550 Bhp and possibly around 740nm of torque. BMW bois are gonna cry hard once this releases.

I have a 2018 C43. Love this car. Sounds good, looks good and is a blast to drive. Gets unbelievable mileage in ECO and is very comfortable over long drives. I have thought about looking for a 2021 but can’t justify the price.

2018 C43 will be the most sought-after V6 for two reasons. It's the last year the AMG performance exhaust was left untamed. 2019+ V6 models decreased in sound due to emissions and noise regulations. Lastly, 2018 is the last year to respond well to aftermarket tunes. Of course, this applies to 2017 but 2018 will be more sought out.
I have a 2021 and I'm not happy with performance and sound and it's AMG kitted but not a full AMG. It rides and on ECO is great for all my everyday driving. I'd like a c43 but the overpriced tag has made me want a 2017 or 18.

Mercedes made a mistake c63 should use at least the straight 6 plus electric motors and renamed C43 to C45 - that would have been possibly acceptable. They have underestimated that a proper AMG top of line power train should not only convey performance but also emotion. The 4 cylinder is no doubt a great base base unit for performance however it will get boring fast - a fast EV would be comparable. Which is of course the whole point. Preparing the masses for the transition to EV.
Until you drive a V8 AMG no-one can understand the experience and what brings enjoyment. It is not about raw speed at all! Sadly 99.9% of AMG owners never have and never will experience it and thus won't know what they are missing...

I don’t know Adam I think the 45S looks nicer but I kind of like the centre screen interior but then I’m thinking it’s probably not as easy to use as the screens in the 45s, conclusion I’d need to see a new CLA 45S before I can comment or choose.

It’s a tricky one! The CLA45s will definitely be a bit more flashy and sporty but I suspect the C43 to be a bit more comfortable and refined. Both great cars to choose from!
@@ABAUTOAMG yes I think you are right about that, comfort in the 45s is ok but I can find the seats a bit hard but I’m no spring chicken now and because i am basically using it as a weekender my body doesn’t get used to the seats like you have using it as a daily.

Hi A j, I actually saw and sat in one in a Mercedes show room on Saturday. It looked stunning in person and the interior is amazing with all the updated bits. I will see If I can get my hands on one to drive and review.

Yep I think so. Mercedes often release the coupe a year later after the saloon. It was the same with the previous generation. I can’t wait to see how it looks when it arrives.

How would the tuning capability be with only 4 cylinders now?
The same M139 4 cylinder engine in the A45/CLA45 has been tuned to 519hp at stage 2 so far so there should be similar options for these.
If they make a coupe version for this 2023 c43 I will 100% buy one when I can find a used model.
Next is 3 cylinder amg c110 w208 great!

It would be under a new class called CLE, where the current C coupe and E coupe will both be named after.

I may be wrong but I thought even the w202 engines did not have the plaques. Didn’t they introduce these later on? Then the C43 became the new c450.

Ah I’m not too familiar with Mazdas system. The AMG dynamics have been a part of the GT and 63 for quite some time now they have just been more refined over the years.

I love the Satin/Matte colours but Brilliant Blue was amazing on the previous generation too.

I wish they would too :( I think AMG have invested a ton of money into making the M139 engine and it is a really good engine with more power to be fair. It’s just a shame it’s not got those extra cylinders. It’s more worrying for the C63 loosing the V8.
Coming from 2019 fl C43 estate wagon, this is very disappointing! Very least could of put/use their inline six! Fingers cross the do a Porsche and backflip reverting back to six from four. Ie cayman/boxster

Some inaccuracy here - the extra 12bhp from the starter generator is infill, it doesn't add to the overall bhp. Also the rear wheel steering function is not dependant on driving mode, it's dependant on speed - turns opposite to the fronts at low speeds and with the fronts at higher speeds.
Probably don't have much room for aftermarket modifications with that electric gas turbo charger.

@@TheRealBobMarley Ah! Easy mixup! One thing I will say is my CLA45s exhaust crackles and pops much more in race mode than it does in sport+ not sure if non race mode cars will have a more popping sport+ mode though.

The old one is way better. More TQ, better engine( v6),sounds better, no estate with the new year which is crap. Having vents above the screen is ridiculous..... not a good new c43. Glad I have a 2021!!

Not a deal breaker for me as long as it gets the same 0 to 60 time as a 6 cylinder and sounds good I am fine with it. Remember with a 4 cylinder you get better gas mileage than a 6 cylinder so why not have a 4 cylinder which can have a good 0 to 60 and good gas mileage where you are not going to the gas station as much as a 6 cylinder.

probably the A45s is a better value for money now. Really don't know how they will make the new C63 work, play horsepower numbers from electric component is not an added value at all, and install heaps of carbon into the car does not cost much too

I’m sorry but his description of how the four wheel drive system works was completely wrong. Moving in opposite vs same direction is dictated by speed NOT by the driving mode you’re in. Up to a certain speed they move opposite and then above that together. Going to sport + only increases the speed at which it’ll switch between the two

disappointed being inline 4 not v6 or inline 6.
Honestly don't understand why C43 needs rear axle steering anyway. It's a fairly small car already, and this system only adds extra weight to the car. This might not sound much, but the official acceleration is actually slower than the W205. Whether it's really slower or not is a debate for another day, it's never good from a marketing point of view, given this is a performance oriented daily driver.
I used to be a fan and potential buyer of c63 2 years ago when I was still at college planning to have a real amg car after graduation. it’s so disappointing that the rumor about no more v8 on w206 has finally become real. So I bought a cla45 last month without a second thought. Why should I pay extra money to get the same thing( an engine is the No.1 thing for a car from my perspective) . Driving is about performance, feelings and emotions and mb is apparently killing them one by one at this point. So I wanna say “good luck Merc”.

Super disappointed in the new interior. Looks great in photos but up close it’s all cheap plastic. Coming from the previous model where it’s soft touch leather almost everywhere, this feels like a big downgrade especially considering they raised prices

If you mean the extra on paper horsepower from the electric turbo charger that’s low but it’s just a bonus. The main perk of this is the quick power delivery. The electric motor that powers the turbo charger just happens to add a little hp too :)

It will be quick off the line and beat most cars on the road. Also it will get better gas mileage than a 6 cylinder. Can't wait for you to do a driving test on this vehicle.

I would like to own one so I can create some nice content and coverage on the car for all the new features etc and keeping up with times. I was originally thinking I’d get the new c63 but now I am thinking perhaps daily driving the new c43 and owning a V8 C63 as a fun weekend/content car. If budget allows this would be an incredible combo.

I agree. They are going to have to make the C63 very special If they are putting this much into the C43 and giving it the same engine. As someone that was interested in buying the new C63 I am honestly considering buying a 2018 V8 C63 as a weekend car then daily driving the new 43 for best of both worlds. For a content creation point of view also, having both the m139 and the V8 could be the perfect storm.

not amazed .. my gorgeous c200 amg line matt grey, has been screwed up, by lack of communication and knowledge of the vendor... my sound system is not included , no presafe, no wireless charging, what a dissapintment it was, last Mercedes for me
