They have grown very little for the past 10 years. They were 8 million in 2014, and are still 8 million. More are leaving that going in.
And so many are older, so I doubt that 8 million will stay so high.
They are still counting inactive, dfd, dissociated, no way they have 8 million with the internet on their heels.
I've been inactive for about 8 years and never sent in my letter of disassociation, so I wouldn't be shocked if they're still counting me.
How is it more are leaving than coming in if they have the same 8 million they had 10 yrs ago 🤦. No worries for Jehovah doubles what satan steals 🤣
The real number is probably around 5 million.
So glad I left back in the 70s! I just want my sister and her family to leave this cult 😢

My only fear with Jehovahs Witnesses potentially being less well known these days is that younger people might not as quickly go ‘oh, those guys… nope, I’m out’. But, if you go look for it, information has never been so available.
Yes. They begin anew with each new generation. Young people may think they’re joining a very fun, wholesome club. In 1975 when we were young, it was just a “new way of life”, a “Society”. For every new generation, they will do something to make it appealing or dangerous and rebellious, or whatever hook they need. Urgency for 1975 got us in. We felt we’d be huddled within this “Society”, protected by this “way of life”...until we got over ourselves and thought, “Hey, I want my Mom and Dad too but they won’t join or listen to us!” Then it got ugly fast when Jehovah said they’d be destroyed. Then the doubts came fast and furious. Yep, until WT is gone, each new generation will be mesmerized because they are not mature enough to know better. Tis sad.

I think they align less with new generations. JWs beliefs to most people are not appealing which is why they are having growth problems. They won’t change to keep up with the generations. The other side are the minority that are religious and even within that people find them odd or weird. Then it would be a smaller pool of that would overlook that and still give it a try but then there is so much info out there in the internet now that they would figure out it’s a cult and if there is somehow someone open to looking for a new religion plus doesn’t find their beliefs off putting or weird plus someone not doing research on them before joining and no opposition from friends and family would be a small percentage if any at all atleast in 1st world countries. They can still get people in countries that are less developed because they don’t have the challenges mentioned above but I think even that gap is closing in some places
Gotta say, thanks to guys like you, I think more people know about JWs and know them in greater depth than ever before.
I remember conventions in the 90's. Sitting outside in a baseball stadium under a broiling sun for hours at a time. I faded in 1998. No regrets.

If Armageddon is right around the corner why would they build sets that according to them need to last YEARS. Same goes for that multimillion dollar studio they are building...why spend millions on a building if the time of the end is very close by?

@@Queenolgi1 Nope. The destroyed according to JWs will be ~8 billion - 8.8 million = 7.9912 billion. That’s 99.9% of all humans. Only JWs in the truth will survive.
But the silliness is there is no such thing as Armageddon. It’s a figment of an overactive man’s imagination.
A PIMO elder with a family of 4, after his Convention, told me that Jesus now is a film actor to their Jehovah witness religion, instead of Jesus being in the hearts of fellow followers a mediator, ransomer and saviour. He'd completed his letter of dissociation on behalf of his members of family, to be submitted soon.
Most of them will probably die of old age before this series is over.

The Watchtower was selling the last days in the late 1800's when it said that Jesus returned to his heavenly throne in 1874, the years after that year was supposed to be the last days as Armageddon was to come in 1914 .

Our donations were supposed to be used to advance the preaching work and promote Bibles and Bible literature that people could ACTUALLY READ; not spend millions on elaborate video productions from around the world! They seem to forget that Christians are to "walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corin. 5: 7 Not to mention that they could have taken those millions in donations and set up an emergency charity fund that would actually help members in financial or material need from time to time.

They are not a charitable group one bit and the governing body couldn’t care less about any of us, they just want their money. They are setting this borg up to be a media company along with their real estate empire.

You need to do a video exclusively on the robotic way that all the men at Watchtower speak the exact same way and use certain words and phrase exclusive to Jehovah’s Witnesses. They use expressions such as rich blessings, richly blessed, thrilled, thrilling, and many more unique to JW vocabulary.
A few of them sound so smarmy.

How “ there are a lot of movies showing Jesus life..but OURS is accurate? Look! Look! We have 17 episodes!” It’s not a multi part drama, or a 17 part drama anymore. It’s “episodes “ Are you thinking what I am thinking? I will loose my mind if I see this show up on Netflix or Prime. It would be a new revenue stream for them( bada-bing! Sorry. Couldn’t resist the pun reflex) Seriously though-you think they are thinking “ why, our work is so superior, Netflix will give us millions! Then we could get nominated for best picture! What a witness that would be!”All they have in huge initial investments was equipment. They have no actor’s salaries to pay. No production teams. No director. Because everyone” volunteers”. And I don’t see them spending the moolah on all this-just out of love for everyone else’s spiritual benefit. Nope. This feels like an investment. Don’t they just act like a 5 year old boy with a secret they are dying to just burst out and tell you, when they keep bringing it up? Just giddy with it! They have those ashy old palms outstretched already, accepting awards, because they decided they want to become big-time movie producers-look over here…not over there at that CSA…look here! We used to time our bathroom breaks at the convention so we would be in our seats when the characters started coming out before the drama, it was the interesting and exciting thing for a kid and they ruined it 🙄

What I can’t figure out is how Tony Morris could sit there and say that Christ had ‘never been depicted’ in the Society’s dramas to this juncture. In 1973, first at a Gilead graduation and again at the international assembly, the Society had a drama titled “‘The Zeal for Your House Will Eat Me Up’”, which is ostensibly about Christ. There’s no indication that this was a sound drama, meaning that the scenes were acted out.
Governing body always talks about the governing body in the third person. I wonder if they are referencing the actual governing body of the Pennsylvania or New York corporations, the board of directors. They don’t sound like they are speaking about themselves, maybe it’s sort of an inside joke, because they know they are not in charge, but they can use that term in reference to any governing body, rank and file don’t know the difference.
No Jew would have said 'Jehovah' so its not the words straight from the bible.

I like the movies that adopt the Original languages with subtitles or at least your language with the accents of Jesus’ day. I don’t know why Scottish and Australian caught the WT attention. None of the GB in NY even sound Scottish or Australian.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with a British, Scottish, or Aussie accent! In fact I find them hot! 🔥😀 Ok, sometimes, some pple in US hear one of these accents from a presenter or a narrator-and to them it makes the person speaking seem more professional, more knowledgeable, more of an expert. Plus, it can also make whatever the speaker is in, or presenting, seem a bit more of a classier production than it actually is. And knowing watchtower, they intentionally put a guy with an accent, to make their stuff seem , for lack of the right words, better than what it actually was. So I think the fun was meant at watchtower for doing it-not directly at the guy for his accent. But seriously, I love a man with an accent.

Have you considered the irony that convention goers will probably be watching actors in the videos at the 2028/9 conventions, who by then have been disfellowshipped or disassociated.
I wonder if they are trying to play it safe with the dramas. Past ones have been heavy hitters for the last days or predicting the persecution and civil unrest. If they stay away from those topics, it won't be used against them
