$1100! I purchased this camera 2-3 weeks ago and the lowest price was $1500 new. I missed the low price from 3 months ago, could have used the savings for one more prime lens.
One can get a used-Like new model on MPB for $1100 in July 2024. I caught a great after Christmas sale and got myself a silver top with the kit lens for $1200 in January 2024. Brand new models go for $1598.
You are right. Love this camera. I had ZVE1 but felt it was underutilised. Tried its 10bits video and colour grading was not fun for me. It also translated you need expensive memory cards (V90) and high processing computer for editing, which is not suited for a hobbyist like me. Now i’m using ZV1M2 and really enjoying its limitation. I feel it is time to return into interchangeable system and am looking at A7C. It requires affordable memory card and honestly 8bit is enough. For some cheap lenses i mainly target Sony 50mm f1.8 and a compact 28-60mm zoom lens. 😊
I'm planning to buy either of the two. In India the A7c is ~$1750 and the a7c II is about $2500. Still confused which one to get, and whether the 7c II is worth the extra bucks.
I just purchased this camera last week. I do street photography and only video clips. As a result, I don’t like the flip screen. When I extend the screen the camera is more noticeable. I don’t care that there is only one card slot. The EVF seems like it isn’t the best. Far from that. I bought this camera for two reasons. I currently only use crop sensor bodies. I want to see if I can see an improvement in image quality produced with a full frame sensor. I also want to experience the Sony autofocus. Right now I’m setting the body up. The menus aren’t user friendly. I’m having difficulty finding the settings I want in the submenus. Also Sony uses different terminology than Fuji. I have the 28, 35, and 50mm lenses. I am saving for the 85/1.8. More will be revealed. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Great video man! "Because of a 24 mp sensor size, every single photo you will take with the camera will be extremely crisp" that's a bit false because it depends heavily on the lens quality.
I've watched all your videos - they're great! I need a camera for indoor teaching (whiteboard and me standing). My budget allows for the Sony a7 III (€1150), a7C (€1400), or ZV-E10 (€650). Which, with what lens, would be best? Or should I just use my iPhone 15 Pro? Thanks!
I would say you can use your iPhone 15 pro but as stated the Sony a7c is all around camera, it has flaws but it pros out weigh the cons. It being full frame in compact with flip screen beats Sony 7iii and Sony ev10 including iPhone 15 pro put things perspective
An even more compelling question is if one should get the newer, and slightly cheaper A6700 APSC camera which has better video features, (i.e. stabilization, 4K 60fps) , a faster processor, even better auto focus chops, updated color science, and a better economic hand grip with an additional control dual over the A7C.
Sony a7c is a great camera, 8 bit and 10 bit no soo much difference at all. On the paper yeah great difference but in real life not soo much. But what if you have sony a7iv and you shoot 4k 60fps and problem with overheating,.at the end of the day you will prefer 4k 30fps, that's the funny thing, isn't it? Nice photo capability, show me a camera that can do both well at this price range? Show me a camera can shoot at low light situation with this price range? Yes, there full frame cameras with a low light capability, but again downsides! I think sony a7c the best sweet spot. Again such as APSC camera a6700 has heating issues, how then you will use it? 4k 60fps will heat up a camera!
Planning to buy a7c and pairing it with a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. Will probably be using it only for photography: is IBIS good for sports with non stabilized lenses?
I love my A7C, and use it every day, (everyday carry camera). The handheld video stabilization is not the strong suit of the camera. It does not have the digital, Active Steady Shot stabilization that is present in a lot of the newer cameras. I shoot video with it, (vlog), but make sure it is on a stationary surface and rarely walk around with it. There is the option of using Catalyst Browse to stabilize shakey handheld video in post, which I use on the rare times I walk around with the camera.
Appreciate this video bro. I've been making content on Instagram, TikTok and TH-cam for a few years now using the ZV1 but it's not cutting it anymore in 2024 even in 4K imo Been recommended the A7C and 24mm lens for vlogging and gym content. Good set up? Would the 24mm also have that background blur?
Yeah, I’ve always said, not all 4K is created equal lol. Best of luck with your videos! 24mm is a great focal length. It does get a bit difficult with more dynamic shots. For beginners I suggest the starter 28-70 lens just because it’s super cheap and pretty versatile. But yes the 24mm will get that background blur as long as you are using a lower f/stop(aperture). I generally like the look that cameras give around f/2.8
I’m definitely looking into this one i believe it comes down to what type of shooter you are 😂 because fx30 is video camera first, and the Sony a7c is hybrid camera where it balances out video and photography plus the price is immaculate now!
If you are photocentric,.1/8000 shutter speed allow you shoot speedy objects much accurate, or of you do client jobs, a7iii has two sd slots! But if you think about the best autofocus, lightweight, better color accuracy, if single slot doesn't bother you then its for you
I have this a7c since it was launched and I don’t have any plans to upgrade , it takes great pictures , glass is the most important and creativity
can you rec a good glass for the a7c ii?

is it still good if i buy a used one? or new is better?
I daily carry and use my A7C for all of my street and travel photos!
I'm thinking of buying it to start my own photography of nature and places i visit when i get older :D
Bought this used today. I'm going to use it for action sports. Stoked.

Great video. I just bought my A7C. Got it for a great deal. And I'm really excited.
Thank you! Hope it treats you well!

Thanks for the insight! Just ordered one second hand yesterday and looks like it was a good choice 🙌
Yessir! It’s such a good camera
Great info
i bought A7C in last 2022 and i use ntil now
so great camera for video and image
Yes , its right, people are ultimately gonna watch the story that i create, they are not gonna postmortem the gadets that i used creating the story .

So what’s your experience now? Does it suits you, for street photo?
Sounds like user error to me

Another great video...My favorite camera (A7c...two in the bag)...I no longer do much video....just street stills in Bangkok...Cheers
It’s definitely a great camera that gets no love for some reason! Great video
It really is! Thanks!
Iam have this camera, iam love it.
Nice insights, Zach! Really helpful to hear your thoughts 👏
Glad it was helpful!
I have a sony a7r ii is a good choise to switch to a7iii or a7c?or i should wait for a74 going on a lower price?
Of course 10 bits is better than 8 bits, but if the 10 bits is an apsc camera like a6700, is it better to buy a6700 or a7c?
Would you say for photography, is the a7c better than the a6400 ? Thank you for your help in advance 🙏
Most definitely buy the a7c over the a6400 full frame is a lot better

I actually don’t have a ton of issues with my A7IV overheating when shooting 10 bit 4K 60, but it is a good point!
Planning to buy a7c and pairing it with a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8.

What’s the best lens for streaming ???
Definitely worth it compared to my first camera the Nikon D3100 which a far cry compared to the a7C
It is priced at 1500 $ in india.
I just wonder can Imuse rhe screen to do setting

Amaze A7C
Would you recommend sony a7c as a starter filmmaker camera?
Should I buy A7c instead xs20 fujifim?
Just wondering, where I can get it with $1100?
I just bought an A7C with two batteries and charger listed on Craigslist.

any comments?

I have a video about this exact question!
A7III have better ISO for night shot, but if you need a light weight, etc... general, A7C is better
A7c or a6700?
A6700 way better
Sony A7C is the best camera
Dude, you need to invest in lapel mic.
U dont know wtf u talking about 😂
