About nato rail vs arri pin: nato rail seems more flexible as you can mount the rail at different locations whereas with arri stuck with only the center position; nato rail also allows you to adjust the handle laterally in case your setup is side heavy. On the aesthetic side though, arri is a lot cleaner.
Yes, both have their strong points, however, just like you can attach a nato rail, you can also attach an Arri locating pins connector, the rail has the upper hand as you can slide it up and down for quick adjustment, but yea, the Arri looks much cleaner if you're going for bad ass aesthetics 👌🏻
I have quite a few 8Sinn cages and accessories and their quality and design is off the charts. The Kondor Blue looks pretty cool too, not sure how I feel about the Arca Swiss plate, looks generally very similar to Tilta. Both are of similar prices, I would still lean towards the 8Sinn, I just dig their design, it's unlike anything out there, so classy.
I need to angle it slightly to the side for that to work, but I have the same problem with the SmallRig and a couple of others. It's a lot better when you take the hdmi clip off.
The shots are magnificent ^^ Do you think that 8Sinn could also produce cages to protect audio gear like Sennheiser wireless system ew100. This is not obvious since we prefer that, and above all, the transmitter is neither heavy nor large. A thin semi-cage which will protect especially the connections: the end of the mini-jack could be useful. Thus the mini-jack could not be easily "crushed" by a person wearing the transmitter and of course the whole transmitter will be more protected during a fall. I also thought of another tip concerning the Wireless-Go. Røde, or another company perhaps, could offer thin, flexible rubber in different colors that cover the Wireless-Go. This way, the equipment will be a little more protected, but also we can better hide the transmitter according to the color of the clothes and it can also help to distinguish each piece (if there is more than one pair). Thank you ☺️
Thank You! I'd email them and ask them, they're very nice people and create incredible products, so who knows, the might be interested. I love the Rode Wireless GO, I use it a lot, mine is scratched up like crazy, so that would no doubt be a good idea!
@@PhillipSkraba haha no way! People were dreaming on that screen! But I know what you mean. I also feel like my GH5 screen is on the way sometimes when it it is facing up. I think Panasonic S1H screen would be ideal on any camera. Sometimes it is never enough😂 Keep up the good work.🤙
Its a good looking cage. But I gotta be honest, the SmallRig one is designed better, theres a few functional things it seems to do better. Nice presentation though Phillip!
Thanks a lot Chris! I have the SmallRig one too, what do you prefer about it? I really love 8Sinn cages, I find that I never take them off, they just feel so good to hold, I don't get that with other cages. I'm also very proud of them, I'm an English man living in Poland and I feel honoured I can help promote them. I have quite a few things from them and the quality is way above any of my other rig kit. Let me know your thoughts though, I'm interested in what functional things you mean.
Thank You! Background music to what? I find music to be such a personal thing that I put it in special places, I don't like it just running in the background. Plus if I had my way it would be Metallica or Snoop Dogg, and I'm guessing not everyone wants to listen to that 😂
The a7SIII cage attaches by 2 screws, it's solid as a rock, and the a7III version attaches with one screw, and trust me, that thing is well thought out, it protects my camera, is super solid and has saved my camera quite a few times.
@@PhillipSkraba Can you honestly say that turning the mode wheel through that cutout hole at the top is a good design? I own A7III and the mode wheel is not that easy to turn. I’m actually not expecting an honest reply since your video is pretty much a commercial of the product.
@@deepseadiver8191 All my replies are honest. I'm not sponsored, the commercial was a vanity project we shot in Iceland, so totally our idea, paid for by us. Sure, I got the cages for free, but I'm 100% honest about them and how I like using them. The cutout in the A7III cage is actually a very good design and I find it easy to use, the bar across the A7SIII cage however I find harder to use as my finger doesn't fit so easily underneath it, it works and protects the cage, but I feel I could do with a little more space or a design like on the A7III cage with the hole.
How do you mount a ninja 5 on the nato rail, do you need a cold shoe adaptor to be able to mount a small rig tilt setup?
You can pick up a nato rail monitor mount, that'll work.

What are your thoughts on the hdmi clamp, questioning if I should get one
I use mine a lot if I'm out and about, ripping your hdmi port out is very expensive.
Would this fit a Sony A7iv?
They have a Sony a74 version I believe.
I wonder what this makes a better option to buy compared to the Kondor Blue cage? Did you have a the chance to check it out or plan to?

looks like that cage would not allow you to flip the screen out and rotate it so its facing upward. Is that true?

Wow you've got quite nice shots in Iceland
Thank You!
A Thumb up for the eating part :-)
haha, I'm still alive, so I think they really were edible!
You keep tounting me to pull trigger on Sony A7siii
It's a real nice camera! Funnily enough, the only thing that bugs me about it is the screen 😂 I wish it just tilted up like the A7III screen!

@@PhillipSkraba probably because you can't flip the screen to face up with the 8sinn cage.
