Terrific story and the blues was the perfect accompaniment. Fitting punishment too, doing the same work as the contractors he killed except without the astronomical paychecks. But he did get a real sense of self worth out of it, so there’s that. For the Squerril! For the author! For the Al Gore Rhythm! For the new uniform!
The Prince was never really cute out for government or anything which involved things that effect the lives of millions. BUT he made a good machinery worker.
oh my gawd squirrel SWEARING instead of bleeping himself? thats a first. ohhh pykrete, super cheap and a absurdly great ablative armor against energy damage. XD
The stories you choose to tell are always good. The way you tell them elevates them in such a manner that few of the others I listen to approach them in quality. Yet this one is even better than most.
So I don't need a continuation since this was written as a one shot, but I want more of this universe. Formerly insane gods are medicated via ftl suppositories the size of a battleship. The humans of this verse are on a whole new tier of bullshit.
There have been cases in history where Royals have given up their titles and privileges because they loved their life as a normal person and did not want to give it up . Loved this story from a bugs perspective lol.
Good example(maybe not so) is the Imperial Princess of Japan, she relinquished her seat in the Japanese Imperial Court and her Crown Empress heirship to be with her now Husband who is pretty normal at least for the nobles of Japan, he isnt a noble but he is a succesful lawyer
The Roman emperor who took power fixed the failing state, beat back numerous invasions and then when he was OK with the results went on to be a cabbage farmer.
@@Cl0ckcl0ck That was Dioclecian, sadly his story but he indeed did just that. There was also a scene when his former tetrach came to his villa and tried to drag him back into politics, replied with "If you could come here and see the splendid cabbages I have grown with my own hands, then you would not ask such a thing of me."
The prince was right, he is free to be himself now. Here is a like and comment for the story, for entertaining me, to help your channel grow, to appease the great and powerful TH-cam algorithm demon, and get you the recognition you deserve.
That was a great story - My compliments to our Esteemed Orator! I can't even imagine being born into your own Peter Principle. Glad Maj found his niche!
The rare occasion someone(thing) is stupid and knows they are stupid. Stupid people typically don't know they are stupid and quite often believe the opposite. We all have met such individuals on occasion as we are subjected to their hubris, yeah, that comes with stupid as well.
Thanks for another entertaining story. I got some chuckles out of it, and I like how Maj found a place where he could fit in and have more freedom than he ever had as the crown prince. Rank comes with obligations and expectations. People who can't fulfill those shouldn't be in such positions. Maj didn't have what it takes to be a leader, but he was smart enough to realize that and fortunate enough to find a better fitting position. Thanks for posting this story!😊
Love your delivery, one of my favorite channels! Just one remark - pretty sure the human flagship is named after Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, not Zelen Sky. :)
I saw it many times in the military. People forced by family pressures, or circumstances of life, into jobs or positions that they truly hated and were not suited for. But they found happiness in the army. And many times great success there. Testing in the military said that I qualified for everything including the astronaut program. Because I wear glasses and on colored deficient in Vision I only qualified for 10% of the jobs. I believe it was God's way of letting me be in the Infantry where I was the most happy.
The sheer intensity of the “Into which orifice were they inserted” question kills me every time 😂
LMAO "The test results came back and yes, he's your son" "DRAT!"
Cue Bufford T Justice's lines toward Junior from the Smokey And The Bandit movies.
Immediately followed up by the emperor threatening his son not to besmirch the honor of his wife
Wise enough to know where he belongs. We should all be so fortunate.

FTL suppository. That is a phrase I never could have imagined.
The Prince was never really cute out for government or anything which involved things that effect the lives of millions. BUT he made a good machinery worker.
He found his true place in the universe and is content, luckier than 99.99 percent of all the other life forms in existence.
A surprisingly good ending for a trapped prince. A great story brought to life by a great narrator!
I have to admit I laughed about an FTL suppository.
To be used against mad gods of space no less...
Each individual has their own idea of freedom. Cle-Van found his. May we all find ours.

Great story; Excellent narration! Maj is one lucky alien! He found his true calling without killing a billon sentients! 🙂
Many billions. Humans have a certain tendency when it comes to war. Damned hairless, homicidal, space-apes.

Author here. I have two ongoing series already. A third would kill me. LOL. Glad you liked it.
He got the greatest gift of all, relative comfort and purpose and a job he clearly loves now
Author here. God, I love it when you adapt my stories, Agro. This was great (as always)!
Well done. It seems the foolish former prince finally grew up and learned something called responsibility.
And learned to love it.

Even in space you need a forklift certification
People build stuff. We even build stuff to build more stuff.

nice storry superb turn around and at the end some light banter and comedy. Love it!
I rarely comment, but this was an excellent, well written storey and of course, fantastically narrated by ASN!
Love that the author used the Will Smith "Keep my wife's name out ya MFn mouth!"

Piecreat. That is something I haven't thought of in a while.

Once again a marvelous delivery

Well, as aliens-attack-Humans-and-regret-it stories go, this is a pretty lighthearted one.
A good story, told good- er, well!
Absolutely lovely.

What a transformation even if it meant waddling through hardship to get there.

Ancestry only means so much. Education only means so much. He was perhaps better off where he was, without more responsibility than he could handle.
He saw that he couldn't handle that much power, literally almost got him the death penalty.
And expectations he could clearly grasp.
Good story
Thanks, 'gro Squirrel. Much appreciated.

"Zelen" means green (masculine noun), so Green Sky doesn't seem that weird for a space vessel.

New coat? Really rocking the epuletts
Kinda Spider-Man dressed up for formal dinner.
A stint in the military, or in the pen, has a way of maturing a person and setting their priorities into reality.
In this case it shrunk his world down to something he could cope with.
Everyone right where they should be.
