Thanks for the video , was waiting on my service manual but needed to get the airbox off and the intake bellows are on there good! All done but with graves covers..
Thanks for making this video. Looks like a pain in the ass lol. Will be doing this in near future. I have a thumb drive ratchet wheel I wonder If I could fit. Also, think can I use shorter bolts with the plates?
Hi men, I have same exact bike. I removed pair system like how you did but i got check engine light on. Did you plug any elemenator to pair system plug ? How did you remove check engine ligth ? Hope you still remember.
Hey man have a dumb question, do you need to empty the tank before disconnecting those quick connect? I have a 2017 and waiting for my ecu and EU stacks atm. Was trying not to take the tank off completely nor emptying when installing the stacks and taking off intake restrictions.
hey bud, no need to empty the tank. the high pressure line that comes out is restricted until the fuel pump is activated. super easy to take off. cover your plastics with rags just in case of any spillage.
question? If I am ONLY eliminating the stock muffler, do i need to flash computer? I want to keep the bike as stock as possible but I did notice that it lost low RPM torque when I installed the after market muffler. So that is my question - or then i will just place the original muffler back on so it can have the servo function and just have a muffler shop cut off the actual muffler after the servo function and weld the after market at that point. thanks
The servo motor control a flap in the exhuast for noise, nothing else. You lost low end torque because you likely don't have enough back pressure. You should in my opinion get the computer flashed for your muffler type and also have the flash delete the servo motor function. That way you can remove it and have your low end somewhat back and have a little less weight. Oh and no diag codes.
I have the 2017 one, is the same bike. I was wondering what is the point of the block off plates you installed. Do they make any difference if you flash it?
It reduces popping out of the exhuast on deceleration as well as takes that little extra weight off from the bike. Its an unnecessary system used for epa. It essentially bursts air into the exhuast to rid any extra fuel.
@@scoobysword would you happen to have a rough estimate for how much weight is saved by removing the oem system? Seeing as how it doesn’t affect performance in anyway other than weight and all the effort that goes into the job.
@@JmvTv101 it saves approximately 8 to 10 pounds. It. Retainer does have a performance boost when flashing with the akro exhaust. It's made for performance enhancement.
Hey man, congratulations on picking up your dream bike! I'm thinking about picking up a 2018... if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay out the door for your bike (and in what state)? Anyway good job on the quick progress, you tuning the ECU through Woolich or?
Hey Patrick, thanks man. Dont mind at all, I found if for the lowest price I could. I paid 14750 out the door for the 2018 with only 1 mile on it. This was is California. I got the Ecu flashed through Danos performance because he has a proven track record and he's located about 2 hours from me in Socal. The turn around time was ridiculous quick. The bike was listed for 11300 btw. Lowest price I found in 3 states.
@@scoobysword Cool thanks a lot for the info. I'm looking at a 2018 non-abs from a local dealer (also here in SoCal) so it helps to have that info for negotiating. I'm shooting for under 14K OTD. Never spent nearly that much on a car or moto but I'm tempted. I look forward to a follow-up video on how it rides with the flash and pipe. I think the Akra shorty is the best slip on for this bike, and I'm sure you know how restricted these bikes are with the stock tune. Cheers, Patrick
Ya, your right on point with how restricted they are. I have a new review video of the ride coming up in just a couple days here. Hope you enjoy it. Oh, and if your looking for a 2018 for the same price.. I know that Huntington Beach Honda where I picked up mine has a non abs in matte black for the same exact price. Atleast they did a month ago.
Thanks for making this video. I noticed you didn't add a servo buddy and you didn't encounter check engine light? Was it because of the ECU flash? Did you encounter any check engine light with the pair valve disconnected like that?
Hey, no servo buddy needed with the ecu flash, same goes for the pair mod. I accounted for everything I wanted to mod before requested what I needed on the flash. Danos can you hook you up with a great flash.
How would you rate them? I had my Ecu flash by Toce Performance before on my 600rr but wanted to try someone new for my 1000rr. Also what’s your view on bmc/sprinter/k&n race air filters? Oh by the way thanks for the video it helped me a lot
@@sulaymandawud3593 I thought Dano was professional and had a quick turn around. I got everything I wanted and had no issues. I find the aftermarket air filters didn't perform on the dyno any better than the stock air filter.
Good video. You can take out those (2) rubber glued on air duct restrictors for better performance as well.
Yeah, only American bikes got them, in the UK there no restrictions.
