Hi Hannah!! Thank you so much for making this video :), I am currently pre-med and have been debating doing PA vs MD just because I really like to prioritize my health! Your video shows it's possible but I was wondering how much sleep do you get and do you eventually just get used to not getting 7-8 hours?

Hey Nadine! You are so welcome thank YOU for your sweet comment - I am so glad this was helpful! It is great to hear you are considering your health in your career choice its one of the most important factors imo🫶🏼 i can share a bit from my MD/med school perspective - I prioritize sleep above just about everything lol and was able to get a solid 7-8 hours most everyday in med school by planning my days well. So far in residency I’ve been getting 6-7 hours by going to bed early! I have a tough inpatient month coming up and anticipate my schedule will be crazier. I plan to make a couple vlogs during that time and will be super honest about how I feel and any tips and tricks I utilize! I need my sleep haha🥰 thanks for being here - hope this helps!

Hey Sara!! So glad we get to connect on this space thanks for reaching out and congrats on choosing the best specialty ever😍 i am SO happy i chose family med it truly has been so rewarding every day of residency so far. This is so cliche, but be unapologetically you during interviews - especially for family medicine i found they really just wanted to get to know me and what i was uniquely passionate about both inside and outside of medicine :) happy to answer any others you have!
With regards to sleep i FEEL you with the need/love for sleep! On my outpatient rotation blocks i get ✨golden weekends, but on the inpatient rotation im on now we just get one day! I’m posting a vlog from this week on inpatient monday and discuss how im maintaing my sleep schedule when things get super hectic, so i hope that helps a bit too!
