I love my 2016 limited 4runner Only 46k miles so far I over load it 3 times a week with store supplies since the first day I bought it and it still going like new
I love my 4runner but I don’t go off-roading alot but it has got me through some big stormy days getting through Deepwater right under my wheel well. 😅 mine is an SR5 premium part-time four-wheel-drive. I use it on snowy days and then shut off when I don’t need it. Black leather interior with heated front seats it’s just an unstoppable beast. Bluetooth that’s all I needed to connect my music I don’t care about apple CarPlay Blindspot monitoring or anything else for years down the road it’s been unstoppable.
It will be hard to redesign this style and not go wrong. I think this body style is the most aggressive so far and that is probably why they don't see a need to fix it cause it ain't broke!

I have a 2000 SR5, great car. Getting alot work done right now, new ball joints, new shocks, new tie rods, new bushings, and a complete frame repaint (not a cheap repaint, I'm taking sanding EVERYTHING down to bare metal and starting from square one)
I clicked the link for you and looked at the pictures! Cool car, looks good, but the 4Runner is what I like to learn about, followed by the Tundra / Sequoia, then Tacoma.

(I watched your 2020 4Runner Video, 9 Months ago .... over and over and over) But, are any of the 2021 Off Road Trims going to offer third row seating ???? It's the only thing holding me back from buying a 4Runner.

I agree. It would be nice to see a few more options for the premium trim level, ie dual climate control, how about another house hold outlet in the front or back row area. And maybe move the cruise control switch to the steering wheel. Other than that, I think it a cool vehicle
I wish Toyota put the 8 speed automatic transmission from the land cruiser in the 4Runner. It’s hard to justify getting a 4Runner just because they get bad gas mileage, and I think that the 8 speed would be very impactful for the mpgs.

You people ranting about how past due a redesign is, have you not been paying attention to Toyota for the last 30 years??? This is how you build in long term resale value, little to no changes, this is what you want for your investment. Lease a Tesla if you need the newest gadgets every 2-4 years.
I didnt hear a mention of a rear wiper.. does the TRD Off Road Premium have rear wiper ? Silly question? it's not visible so maybe silly but I really cant tell if it might be tucked up under the rear high spoiler
I'm trading my Accord in for a 4Runner very soon. I'm getting into photography particularly nature and landscape so I'm going to be doing a fair amount of off roading and camping. My two favorites right now are the Venture and Trail editions. Venture has multi terrain settings and crawl control and Trail has available four wheel drive but not as advanced as the Venture. The roof basket will definitely come in handy for me and that's available on both. I am digging the cooler that comes with the trail though and that army green. Wow, this is a tough choice!
Joe Jayjoe thanks the input, I’m also looking into ones about a year or two old. TRD off road trim has been what I’ve mostly been looking at for that specific feature but it’s mainly because I live in a neighborhood with steep hills and it’s pretty rough when it snows so I’m just looking for something that can get through it. Also looking to trade whatever tires it has for Nokians because my dad has them on his RAV4 and they work great. Mainly looking for the vehicles with 50k miles or less. 4Runners lose little value which is why I’m also considering new. Again, thank you! You gave me more to consider.
Ridiculous that they haven't redesigned this yet. The main reason I won't buy a new one is my 2015 looks exactly the same and I am ready for a new vehicle.

KimBuck2 Yes absolutely! Just make sure you get the correct lights and they are plug and play. H11 is the proper size for my 2020. Lots of videos here on You Tube to show you how. I estimate it took 10 minutes each for low, hi, and fogs. Probably 30 minutes for all of the interior lights.
I recently got the 2020 TRD OFF ROAD , I was in the same boat as you , but I decided to just get the 2020 since the 5th gen is proved to be reliable at this point, with redesigns there’s always little kinks here or there they fix after the following years. So I’m happy with my 2020 but if I really like the redesign I’m going to give them a couple years to iron out all the glitches
The gas mileage is something I was also iffy about. But unless you have an super long commute everyday it’s totally worth it. By far my most favorite vehicle I’ve ever had.
@@NickolasFuentes I have a 2019 4Runner. Right now I'm getting 18 mpg avg..(mostly stock) I dont really think it's that bad but then again I used to drive a 04 pathfinder that did get horrible gas mileage..
I have a 2018 Camry and it only came with one usb port for the entire vehicle and the thing doesn't even work. You can't charge Apple or Android devices with it. Not sure why it's even there. I guess it was just for display or something like that. lol It also only has one 12 volt power port. :-(
@@Kburd-wr6dq Unfortunately, it doesn't even do that. I heard that you can add carplay with an upgrade, but that's going to cost extra. We had a 2001 Camry and it had 2 12v power ports:-(
They're already on the Toyota.com website. And sadly it doesn't show cement in the trd trim. Just the trail model which is an sr5. Kinda sad, a cement trd would have caused me to pull the trigger

I feel you. My 2007 limited at 169,000 miles is still going strong. Been looking to replace but this gen is disappointing. Smaller vehicle cabin, smaller gear storage, less torque/power for sad v6 mpg, transmission unreliable, trim is uninspired, and you want me to be excited over LED lights and 2 usb ports for rear bench seats. You want to excite me: see Volvos SUV interiors and moon roof, give me back my V8 so I can reliably tow my trailer up the mountain with a dependable transmission, add blind spot, lane drift, front and rear heated/cooled seats, front seat fold down bed, cargo storage with 18 inch wheels, add hot spot/satellite wifi, remote starter, duo suspension systems for off-road, mudding, and highway speed, auto tire inflate/deflate for sand/soft surfaces, better security features. For the past 10 years Toyota engineers have been unimaginative with this SUV, been too lazy for development, and traded in its much respected reliability for cheap changes to its core engine/transmission and didn't even attempt to improve 4Runners mpg. Give me a real reason to trade in my 2007 limited. This isn't it.

Traded my 2011 SR-5 for a 18 taco TRD off road. Traded a year later for another 4runner. Older tacos were way better.

I've owned Hondas for 36 years and they have lost their appeal to me. I just bought a 2021 4Runner SR5. Best decision of my life. Not looking back.

Is Toyota simply slapping LED bulbs in the old headlight housings or have they re-engineered the housing to work with LED??
most likely a redesign unless its a led bulb with a narrow enough footprint to clear the housing.

You want to excite me: see Volvos SUV interiors and moon roof, give me back my V8 so I can reliably tow my trailer up the mountain with a dependable transmission, add blind spot, lane drift, front and rear heated/cooled seats, front seat fold down bed, cargo storage with 18 inch wheels, add hot spot/satellite wifi, remote starter, duo suspension systems for off-road, mudding, and highway speed, auto tire inflate/deflate for sand/soft surfaces, better security features. For the past 10 years Toyota engineers have been unimaginative with this SUV, been too lazy for development, and traded in its much respected reliability for cheap changes to its core engine/transmission and didn't even attempt to improve 4Runners mpg. Give me a real reason to trade in my 2007 limited. This isn't it.
