Any "Fundamental" certs should help, but you don't necessarily need it to start working in Help Desk. Just make sure that your resume shows your computer knowledge and that you talk about it during the interview.

@@Cobuman Thank you! The Security + certification from CompTIA is extremely expensive. Best bet is to work for a corp and have them pay it for you.

Host name and Ip address should be written on the printer. User can just go to it and write it down.
