How ICC profile impact your DTF Epson L1800 print output by using PartnerRIP Pro?

  • Let me share my JOURNEY STORY about How ICC profile impacts your DTF Printer Epson L1800 image output by using PartnerRIP Pro
In December 2020, I install the PartnerRIP Pro software and set up my Epson L1800 for DTF Printing purposes. During the first few pieces of the printout, I already notice that my colour output is incorrect.
I spend plenty of time adjusting the colour in graphic software like photoshop and trying different settings on RIP software. Then do the test printing and repeat the above steps until I achieve the colour I wanted. I am wasting a lot of TIME and MONEY on this repeated process.
Then I start searching for the causes online and refer back to the supplier.
When I ask the Printer Supplier, they tell me that the colour issue may be because I am using 3rd party ink. Then when I refer back to the Ink Supplier, they claimed that never face such a problem and that might be my setting was wrong, and refer back to RIP software supplier. DOES now I look like a BALL.
Some users who I interviewed, told me that they can have nice colour output. But in fact, they don't notice the colour output is incorrect because never do the comparison or saw the accurate colour output result.
I believe you can feel my PAIN. Then I recall back the method of how I solved my colour issue on Sublimation Ink and Pigment Ink.
I always assume the colour profile found inside PartnerRIP Pro software, is for DTF Purpose. Actually, I AM 100% WRONG.
Photoshop4DefaultCMYK and Photoshop5DefaultCMYK colour profile that you found inside PartnerRIP Pro is generally created for UV Flatbed Printer. I am using the wrong colour profile with the wrong printing method. : )
This video shows a LITE version of the HenryTeoh DTFv1 ICC profile for general DTF printing.
Finished generating a HenryTeoh_DTFv2.0Pro _70W100_720 ICC profile for DTF Epson L1800 PROFESSIONAL Users. Increased colour gamut and enhanced colour accuracy are two main benefits of this profile. Furthermore, you may be able to reduce your ink consumption.

in my experience, like mr henry say that's method only works according to the type of ink brand (brand ink used by the maker of the icc profile only). Before this i have tried more than 6 different types of ink brands and the results will not be the same for each ink. so I use other technic to change or repair out inaccurate colors to acceptable colors. keep in mind guys we can not get 100% accurate color according to the computer display because due to the spec color /screen type on the monitor and also the monitor display is rgb and we print is cmyk. cmyk is limit. I have 3 years of experience using acrorip 7,8 & 9 and operating dtg, making dtg printers and now dtf as well.

Hello, I carefully read your comment here, I ask you; It is not possible to improve the quality of printing regardless of the ink manufacturer!? that is to say that I can buy Henry his color profile, will it not work for my epson L1800 printer, acrorip 9.0.3?

    • @HenryTeoh
      @HenryTeoh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

What I highlighted inside the video is that Photoshop 4 and 5 DefaultCMYK is not for DTF Printing Purpose. So I customised own profile to solve this problem base on my ink, pet film and powder.
If someone use this profile but not using my ink, pet film and powder, it may improve the color but not 100%.😅
Better then use wrong printing purpose icc profile.

Hello everyone and Procolored! Happy Christmas to you and a very important question. I bought the Precolored Model 1800 and did EVERYTHING exactly according to the videos on the sticks that came with it! It prints excellently and above all MEGA quietly :) My ONLY problem, however, is that the colors are NOT printed the way I see them in Photoshop EVEN THOUGH I also installed the PRO RIP 2.0 EXACTLY according to the instructions ;( Can someone PLEASE PLEASE help me with what I need to do Where am I going wrong? I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your tips and help. Kind regards, Frank

      @@HenryTeoh you absolutely right bro..
in case converting printer to DTF:
out there some supplier/vendor of ink and PET film they do provides icc profile only for several printer type,
some of them available for free download, but generally you must pay for it, buy and buy
more... although this icc profile only good for brand new printer,
because quality decrease of the printhead output during use
      > new printer vs 2 month printer age,
will can't use a same icc profile unless that printer has been recalibration first.
as an alternative im found some website who provide service to create a custom icc profile for printer about
$50-$150 USD For online profiling service (various service type like Standard,Premium or Advanced service)
$200-$300++USD For offline profiling service (they will send a technician man to your workshop)
i think it's maybe worth for general user who can't buy a advanced spectrophotometer with prices $5000-$100000USD
