Being honest I thought that Micheal should have killed more
Hey chris just wanted to know who rehauled your masks?
i hope they do jason voorhees vs Michael myers movie
@@peterock42 he says it in the vid where he turns celebrity faces into Micheal myers
This movie wasn't that bad. It's definitely different but most people don't understand it yet. Through nuance, they explained that Michael is literally a man possessed/bonded with "The Shape" entity. "The Shape" gets stronger through killing. Michael's vessel is too weak from the damage in 2018/Kills so it needs Corey's vessel to kill to revitalize "The Shape" energy within Michael. Once revitalized, Michael confronts Laurie, loses, and passes "The Shape" to Laurie. She gives in like Corey said she should have done the first time she looked into Michael's eyes at the end of the movie.
Pretty much the star of this movie is The Shape, not Michael or Corey
I was honestly expecting Michael to be on the back of the bike with Corey at one point
DUDE SAME!!!!
@@3CFilms I completely agree though, it started so well and the very end was somewhat satisfying but in between to me was like a soap opera romance which happened to involve Michael myers
LMAO I was thinking that same thing
That would have been hilarious though
He should have been 😂😂
This movie in a nutshell:
Corey: “I murdered someone. I gutted him and then ate his entrails.”
Allyson: “I want you inside me”
Corey: “what”
Allyson: “what”
She did take rhe whole I just murdered some1 thing well
Spot on
Hey Chris I loved your channel ❤ they even don’t add a central conflict between Michael and Laurie they just meet over plot device and Pure confidence and the twist of Corey Becoming A copycat Michael Myers due to the simple fact that they introduced him in the wrong movie at the wrong time and felted overstuffed like spider man 3 with no many things happening at once and different villains in one movie.
Then he killed himself because of bad writing
Damn bro, I watched this movie last night and I was so excited to see it. I've been a Halloween fan all of my life. Everything you said is so on point on how I feel right now. I can't even find the words to describe how I feel about this movie but listening to you describe how you feel about this movie and reading your body language and listening to the disappointment in your voice describes exactly how I feel about this movie. Like you said, the movie is great to a certain extent, but the way Michael was handled is truly one of the biggest disappointments I've ever experienced in a movie. I will probably never watch this movie ever again either. I could go on all night but I'm going to cut myself off. I just wanted to say that the way you described your disappointment and the tone of tour voice and your body language is EXACTLY how I felt and still feel 24 hours later after watching this movie. I'm still speechless. Much love and take care.
If you was a real Michael Myers fan as you say you would have never watched this trilogy .
@@spectro2324 the trilogy ain't bad, especially the first one
kills and 2018 are easily some of the best in the franchise
The movie was terrible
I agree. I was so disappointed. The story line didn't work Michael wouldn't have done half the stuff they write. I felt so disappointed and when I was watching it really what the fuck are you joking then they way it ended it was like that's it. Michael isn't human.
@@spectro2324 A real Michael Myers fan would watch EVERY Halloween movie, no matter what.
The biggest problem to me is they made micheal a side character, it seems like a smaller more personally story with just Michael in the background
But Michael Myers and Laurie are old
@@jlz8811 bro they were always the main two characters in this reboot 😂
THANK YOU
True
Also they want to have it both ways they make michael invincible in the last movie now he’s old and can’t do shit lol.
Corey straight up ran up on Michael and said "u ain't shit" and took his mask 😆
So crazy and disrespectful lol
I was in shock after that scene😭👌
@@3CFilms I see why Michael work alone Corey literally did him dirty
I hate how that was even considered possible.
It was great to see Michael come back and kill Corey so good!!! Like bitch, know your place!!!
Very cool to have down-to-Earth Laurie back. Old Laurie giving the double middle finger was awesome. lol I'm middle of the road on the movie but I'm still happy to have a new Halloween to watch. Matter of fact, I'm going to watch it again right now.
My jaw dropped when Corey bullied Michael I couldn’t believe that shit 🤣💀
when I saw that, I was flabbergasted 😂
is this really the same Micheal that got ganged up on by 10 people with weapons only to then proceed to kill them all like nothing?
sameee lol
They made him such a chump lol
This Michael Myers was like Joe Biden. Hiding all the time, old and moldy, and can be barely stand up.
@@deathproof8732 Im surprised he didn't mange to not fall down but up the fucking stares as well.
michael throwing corey down and picking him up was funny as hell. it was a father son like moment. im gonna teach you son!🤣
yep that in a way wouldve gave the future of mikey myers in a diff vibe and ended the strode saga but nooo they wanted it all to end
"I expect nothing, and I am still disappointed."
I hated it. Even though I had low expectations after Kills, they still managed to disappoint me.
It was absolutely infuriating to me that Michael, and even Laurie to an extent, became side characters just to focus on a new character they shoved in at the last minute that we didn't see at all in the first two films. It felt like they didn't know what to do with Michael, so they tried to be too clever for their own good and make a new Michael Myers. You made an excellent point that Corey made a bad Shape because he was acting solely out of revenge. Also, "SHOW GRIEF YOUR TITTIES," is a cringeworthy line that belongs in a Rob Zombie movie.
Another cool bit of trivia about The Thing being on the TV is that the original Thing from the 50s was on the TV in the 1978 Halloween.
Also, Halloween 3 slaps, I was pumped to see the font used again haha
I thought I was subbed to you for at least two years. Turns out I wasn't. Just subbed now
Funny how John carpenter directed it
Slaps what?
The actress also played the babysitter in the first movie.
Halloween 3 has somehow rubber banded into being insanely overrated now. People remember it for like three cool scenes, the rest of it is a slog.
Michael seemed stronger than ever at the end of Kills. Seeing him frail and weak by the next movie didn’t make his death have any weight. It was like Michael saying “you got me, took you 40 years and various life threatening injuries but you did it” I still love this series for all its highs and lows.
Facts. Michael still had the last laugh 😂
The writers listened to the fans on how op Michael was and how he became another Jason so they nerfed him outright instead of making him balanced like in the original and 2018.
I love the series as well. I didn’t dislike this movie at all. It’s definitely a different take but I thought it was done well. The series really pushes the evil of humanity in a different way in each movie.
@@mitchjames9350 A balanced approach would have been better. Much better.
@@mitchjames9350 Thing is, you can't listen to whining fans in the middle of your trilogy, it leaves a problem with consistency.
That halloween 4 ending gives me goosebumps everytime still to this day. And I've seen that movie a rediculous amount
My favorite part of this movie was that six second cameo from Julian (the kid from Halloween 2018). He’s the smartest side character to ever live in the David Gordon Green Halloween timeline.
I chuckled when I saw him. One of my favorite parts of these movies
He's that little asshole kid from across the street.
SAME!
It’s just shows how shitty this movie is….. your favorite part is a 4 second cameo of the kid in 2018(which was a great movie)
2018 Halloween is good, should stand on it's own, without the two garbage follow up.
Had high hopes for this finale. I respect the decision they tried going with but didn’t capitalize in the right way imo.
A theory I had was that Michael was so weak not because of age, but because he went four years without killing anyone. Laurie says the more he kills the stronger he gets so why not a reverse effect? The less he kills the weaker he gets.
@@predatorcatcherspa Maybe that's a plothole or something. This series is very inconsistent. I don't know I just mainly don't want to believe they really went the 90 year old Michael Myers route.
@@predatorcatcherspa that’s why he should have been WEAK when he got out. And Corey should have strengthened him THEN. And in Kills Michael is back and kills Corey because he no longer needs him. They just shoved this crap into the movie randomly.
@@liamstrack bro hes like 65 not 90 becuase in the original he was 21 then 40 years later he was 61 then 4 years later he was 65
@@liamstrack Obviously there's something else going on under the hood. Im glad they didn't spell it out like the original films did but this Michael is 100% supernatural. Especially after the beating he got at the end of Kills. Yeh aint no way.
He was locked away in smiths grove for 40 years.
They set Lindsay up in a way that made me think she would help in some climatic way, but she was only in like 2 scenes and I don’t even think she was in the finale 😂
Yeah she didn’t even bother to go to the junkyard 😅
@@dchardinaycole5944 I was like maybe Corey and Lindsey, Michael Myers would have a 3 some
Yeah expected Mike to finally kill her
I admit though that when Corey kills the bullies, I actually liked that scene because of the brutality and score in there
Music was dope
Me too I absolutely love that scene and when he killed the radio dj
Yea
Yeah Plus They Threw Him Off A Bridge, That Was Uncalled For 😂😂
@@maribelarzola7665 yeah and when he cut of his tongue😂
This is my favorite JLC portrayal as Laurie since 1978.
She chose to seek help, it took her daughters death to start making changes and let go of what she can't control. That's what we're all trying to do.
Laurie inspires me here.
I completely bought the charactor transformations.
And choosing the Corey Cunningham angle was sooooooo risky. The main reason I support this charactor is because of how well Rohan Campbell handled the material. He ate up the screen. Such a good actor.
He was very effective as the shape. Walking with completely empty movements as he does his massacre. It was like seeing young Michael all over again. And Corey had a look similar to Tony morans look as Michael in 1978.
An angelic face that grows evil.
The scene where Laurie feels his evil presence. It was so creepy.
I don't know how to justify coreys' end.
I just watched Christine and saw the similarities. Arnie becomes consumed by Christine and becomes the man behind the wheel trying to kill everyone but he dies by the vehicle of evil itself and then they proceed to demolish the car.
H ENDS is very similar.
I'm blabbering.loll
Love your reviews.
Yup really good commentary, I agree , especially about JLC portrayal of Laurie, it personally inspired me too and put more fire in my belly to get through this thing called life.
@@mooncherie1 I'm with you on that. Good luck. 🥰

The ending for Halloween 1 (2018) would’ve been the perfect ending for Halloween Ends - assuming the basement fire trap would work. If only they knew…
Ya'll really think Michael myers is dead ?🤣. that nigga is immortal, I wouldn't be surprised if the next halloween is called the return of michael myers. Halloween ends definitely wasn't the end
@@designertonio5801 I said the same exact thing walking out of the fucking theater. I was like watch him somehow come the fuck back I mean I’d be happy. I think the ending of the movie was kind of bullshit. I don’t think they should’ve killed him off at all. I feel that Lori should have died, and Michael just gone away to die his way.
@@sunsettoxic2557 i just went to go see it today. good movie, but we all know there will be more halloweens. i don't even know why they called it the end

Yeah it threw me off how soft Michael Myers was towards Corey
the dude from the restaurant was giving him hands 😂😂😂😂😂
Michael didn't kill the doctor either in 2018 during the bus crash (cause the doc caused the crash) and now we know why because Michael can see evil in someones eyes and will let them live, but both the doctor and Corey stole Michaels mask and he killed them because of it. Its consistent with this new timeline.
@@nightbirdgames Nice catch, thank you.
After rewatching these movies, it really does go deeper then people think sometimes.
Especially with the ending line of Halloween Ends
@@jojivlogs3697 thank you, someone with more than surface level thought.
I knew right away the only reason he spared Corey and kept him around was because Micheal saw himself in Corey. If u remember how Michael looked in the 78 film in that scene where Laurie pulled his mask off on the staircase, Corey actually looks like him.
My boi Chris is the best at looking for anything positive 😂😂...gotta love him
I think Ends would have been a much better film if 1, Corey was set up as one of Allison's friends in 2018 so the audience atleast has a connection with the character. And 2, have the first 10 minutes of Ends be included in Kills as a form of Epilogue and we use first few minutes of Ends to show how Laury has moved on and coped from the events of 2018. And 3, have Michael give his mask to Corey instead of Corey beating him for it. Like the scene could be Michael simply sitting in a corner of the sewer back against Corey, Corey begs for the mask and Michael gives it to him without ever turning around to give it to him. Also one small nitpick is that I would have personally have Corey be unable to crush the girls head showing that while he's trying to copy Michael he's nowhere near replicating him. I don't know how I feel about the ending, something just doesn't feel right but I can't put my finger on it I guess it's the way Michael dies. The 2018 one was able to crush a skull, move a kitchen island, break a police cars fence so seeing him being pinned down by a couple of knives and a fridge just shouldn't of happened.
I agree
While it’s not explained in the movie itself, it was stated in some promotional interviews that Michael in Ends is still heavily weakened from the beat down he got at the end of Kills. Does that justify Michael being such a pushover in this movie, not really. But it’s at least some kind of an explanation.
Yea they definitely should’ve set him up earlier, and if they were going to kill him that should’ve happened quicker too
@@blueturret5596 yeah, I heard somewhere that Michael is akin to a wounded animal in Ends. He knows he got messed up big time and has just settled in a lonely spot to inevitably die. But I guess encountering Corey somehow gave him a new lease on life, idk it’s all still confusing lol
Corey should have been either Allison or her boyfriend in the first movie .
The big and only problem to me is they made Michael a side character for no reason at all. If they weren’t gonna kill Corey off, then I could see why. They had so much potential to making this the origin story for a new “shape” but ended up cutting it short and that’s what angers me
I thought the same thing. Killing Corey off made little to no sense if you were killing Michael off too. They could’ve ushered us into the next era of the shape with him pursuing Allyson and killing anything that gets in the way.
What if...Corey's not dead..
@@haydenunited2792 they aren’t gonna continue that story, even though I’d like them to do that. The Halloween franchise will continue by starting another timeline 😂😂
@@andyperalta6440 well after watching Halloween ends and this video I think I can cook something up
@@haydenunited2792 trust me I’ve thought of this because we don’t see them take him away but like Andy said I don’t think theyll explore that timeline.
You definitely bring up some good points about the link with the original 3rd movie that I never thought of BUT it doesn’t change the fact that THIS ENTIRE MOVE BLOWS!
I remember that Laurie said that the more he kills the stronger he gets, but wasn’t he in the sewer?? Because that would mean he didn’t kill as often and therefore he’d be weak because Halloween kills he killed a lot of people so he was unstoppable
He was eating people or some shit and stuffing them in the walls by the looks of it. I’d actually not mind a movie where he starts weak, stalks, takes people out 1 by 1 then eventually gets to his strongest but is ultimately killed instead of this weak Michael they went with.
That's dumb cause in Halloween 2018 he was locked up and hadn't killed in 40 years...why wasn't he weak then?
@@oguhzeravla8117 exactly
Its just a metaphorical throwaway line from a character who really has no clue if that is even true or possible. Its not a literal statement.
@@oguhzeravla8117 exactly , I don’t know why people try and defend this movie, it was garbage and they know it was garbage…..
I think the things with the pumpkins smashing apart at the end is supposed to represent them "blossoming", since Laurie's poem about blossoms or death and the fact that she "chooses blossoms" at the end is a callback to that. A bit heavy handed but for the type of movie it is I guess it works.
I think it was supposed to represent evil changing shape
I saw a theory on a TH-camrs page that said Corey represented the Halloween fans that wanted to see MM go crazy. As Corey did actually turn psycho, the fans wanted to choose how Michael was portrayed and wanted to see him start killing. The same way Corey did🧐. This is why in Kills, they kept saying Michael was turning people into monsters. In H18, the doctor at the mental institution looked into Michael’s eyes and wanted to study why/ how he does what he does.
That’s profound as fuck. I watched the movie last night and this comment gave me an entirely new viewpoint on the movie
that theory was made by him too
Another reason why Laurie’s victory felt undeserved in her fight with Michael: the last time they interacted with each other was at the end of the 2018 film. So they went an entire movie without being together, then another 90 minutes of a 110 minute movie, and the only reason they even fight is because they’re coincidentally in the same room. There was absolutely 0 build up to their fight and if I didn’t know a single thing about this movie going into it, not even the title, I wouldn’t have guessed in a million years that they would’ve fought
bro that poor babysitter falling off the stairs that was funny af and when micheal gets a fridge knocked on that had me and my friends dying i loved it😂😂😂
Babysitter didn’t get knocked off the stairs but I get what you mean. I spit my drink out when he hit the floor and the parents happened to walk in 😂😂 someone in the theater blurted out “Perfect timing mom” everyone laughed
The fact that this Michael wasn't as evil as he was in Kills made me sad because if Laurie killed the shape in that movie she'd basically be a badass final girl like Erin in You're Next
You hit the nail over and over Chris! Love your reviews so much. Studios should pay you big bucks to help them improve their movies. No joke! 😁😎
You forgot to mention that Laurie says at the end of halloween kills "you can't defeat it with brute force" and then does exactly that lol
It's lines like that that convince me that DGG had no idea of a plan
I feel like she was talking about defeating the fear of Michael in the town, especially driving his body around the town to see him gone. (He should've popped out at least one more time before getting crushed)
god, this is why halloween movies get review bombed. the fans cant think deeper than surface level. she's not talking about the man. she's talking about his impact on haddonfield. what he's done to the community
@@tristanhunter4721 i agree with the metaphor, but no need to be toxic. the halloween community should be better
She was referring to “the shape” not Michael
Your breakdown in my opinion is spot on!!!! I think In the next time line it is possible to keep a hint of the old but have fresh take on it. Something like Laurie and Franks have a child Michael without their shared past, just an uneasy sense of Deja Vu.
The concept of evil spreading by simply looking into Michael's eyes to me feels like the play on falling in love at first sight the positive side while they flipped the concept. I dig it
I’m not really a huge fan of the extra supernatural stuff in this film but yeah it’s pretty concept
I like that looking into his eyes can affect you in different ways depending on who you are
To me, it felt a lot like Ghostrider when he’s searching through your sins.
I know a lot see it as a 'spreading evil' storyline, but I saw it more as Michael saw the darkness in Cory's eyes, not that it was transferred to him. Even after that scene, Cory really doesn't begin to change until after he kills for the first time.
On a side note, they were trying to show us that the true monster is society. In the original film, Michael kills his sister, then spends multiple years being studied by Doctors and being called a monster. It stands to reason that the doctor in 2018 version studying him likely means that there was much more to his treatment than therapy sessions. With Cory, the same thing. Accidentally kills someone. Is seen as a monster with Allyson being the only one to still see the human in him. The entire point was that they become monsters because we turn them into monsters.
Lame😂
I think a cool idea that could've played out if they didn't set Corey up to be a killer is having Michael be that weak guy in the beginning and having corey survive his first encounter with Michael due to that and later on when Corey sacrifices the officer to Michael and it kind of rejuvenates him into being strong again that Michael should've killed Corey, it would've been a shocking kill, but also establish that Michael is pure evil and is just going to murder you. I don't know I didn't explain it well but it looks cool portrayed in my head.
Damn. Thanks to the 133* people who also see this being a thing. Holy shit guys.
Completely agree there
Woulda been cool
Worst Halloween movie ever!
I thought he would kill him there
That exactly what I thought was going to happen Michael gets stronger with every kill u could see he was badly hurt hiding in that sewer
A year later I’m still confused by this movie Halloween kills ends on a cliffhanger that lead to nothing lol .
I honestly felt kinda bad for Corey (until he turned). Just an innocent person who was taken advantage due to his innocence. Just an unfortunate event occurred and he was the only one there to be blamed.
They built him up to be so likable and relatable I just wish the transition to evil was better
@@3CFilms although while Corey was a questionable person I see where he’s coming from
Evil presents itself differently and takes new forms and matches the personality
Micheal is neither just human or just elemental He’s both. The more he kills the more he transcends. He hasn’t killed in 4 - 5 years He didn’t kill Corey in the beginning as he was dying. Because he hasn’t killed He wanted to turn Corey into him. But Corey didn’t listen to Michaels training. Corey. Presented himself and that’s how he lost. Micheal lost because laurie managed to make him weak with barely Any prepared kills
Micheal. Died because without killing he can’t live. His goal was to stare into his hand own eyes of evil. His house. He got it The house with a view of the town he hates. Just like the dead kids Corey was babysitting house. It was the babysitter house.
@@Shadowpuppets you Forgot that Michael did kill for them years the bum told Corey how did he manage to escape and survive while others didn't make it out so he shouldn't be weak if he did kill for them yrs smh makes no sense at all
@@3CFilms would have also been cool to see him survive somehow and take the mask away at the end or idk, this movie kinda sucked but wasn't terrible at the same time. So odd. What a weird way to end these movies 😆
Band kids 🤣🤣🤣🤣
One thing I thought was very strange is that Laurie wasn’t surprised when she saw Corey wearing Michael’s mask. Shouldn’t she have tried to find out how he got it since that would’ve been a clue to finding out where Michael was hiding? It’s also weird that Laurie and Allyson don’t talk about Corey and Michael showing up at their house at the same time. Did they know Corey and Michael had some kind of connection and were killing together? Did they just think Corey somehow found Michael and stole his mask and Michael wanted it back? Did they think Michael wanted revenge against Laurie? It’s strange that there wasn’t a scene of Laurie and Allyson speculating about what happened.
I kinda thought Corey, after his psychic transfer, was going to be a revelation of how Michael became the pure evil we knew him as. I thought, more and more, he was going to lose his humanity, and become pure evil. And the old Michael Myers would get weak and die. But that's not what ended up...
one of the biggest problems was they never should've done a time jump; it should've all been set over one halloween night
Well I agree and disagree at the same time cause it worked for me but it would have been a bit better if it was on the same night.
Doing that gave Laurie time to heal an get out the hospital. But I i get what your saying though. It really should have picked up right after Karen's death.
The time jump did no one any favors, Laurie became a softy, and now she is enjoying life oddly after her daughter got killed and knowing Michael is still out there. Michael becoming an old and decaying hobo who got sidelined in his own movie.
I think they originally did plan that. However majority of kills Already Took Pl., November 1st so they would’ve needed to cover a lot in a short amount of time.
I think if that were the case, it would have been a great climactic (but typical) "villain almost wins and gets stopped". Maybe the writers were wanting to utilize the Covid Delay and add more depth. If my man Mike was to go out at the top of his game, THAT wouldn't necessarily be an unstoppable force. In this, Michael went from almost dying from getting his tail smacked/stabbed, to getting up and killing everyone, making it back home and killing the daughter (she did set him up and it's an F U to Laurie), and then managed to stay alive undetected and heal from all that. In this, Michael is dying off and past his prime, which makes his Prime even greater. I do think going in a direction of him feeding Myers/building him up (and making the movie longer) would have been a better choice. They could have at least thrown more of that, but using each other to set up and learn was needed as well. Michael using Corey as a frontman was great too (she doesn't know (and probably doesn't expect Michael to still be alive after being completely undetected for four years underground with those injuries), all they needed to do was push together and Laurie would've been dunzo. I think these decisions made the movie better for the long run. Original directors got with new directors to fix the mess of everything that came after the 1978 original. (Not that I didn't enjoy some of the mess lol) But this trilogy came back and 1. Fixed the Original Storyline and introduced a proper return, 2. displayed what an absolute killer Michael was, and 3. Created a way for the story to end without all the BS. Just one fan's Perspective, will definitely miss this franchise!
I felt that the Corey/Michael relationship made Myers more enigmatic. And I was like "aw he made a friend lol."
I felt the title card was also a nod to how this movie focuses more on Corey, a normal innocent guy who turned into a killer. The reason for the title card being blue that being that orange (the usual color for a Halloween title card) is the opposite color of blue
Did Michael transfer his evil into Cory by looking him in the eyes? I interpreted it as Micheal recognizing the evil already growing in Cory, and that's why he lets go of his throat.
That is exactly how I took it and it is funny that I haven't read many other people having this same feeling.
Same
Myers doesn't spare Anyone ever
......just lame
@@cabellero1120 But he has spared people. He spared Allyson in the first movie (2018) He could have EASILY killed her when she was in the car, when I saw the 2018 movie, was that Allyson was going to become Michael Myers figure, especially the way it ended with her holding the knife in the ambulance.
@@WhoIsCG He certainly did not spare anyone in the first 2 films 1978 and '81.
The whole thing was he just kills without reason.
Laurie writes that he was completely evil and yet she was able to bring him down.
From the new timeline trilogy, Halloween Kills is my favorite and it is in my top 3 Halloween movies of all time.
I actually liked this movie, it was strange indeed, but I really really liked the Corey Character.
I just sincerely appreciate how articulate and thoughtful you are with your observations. Even if you don’t love a piece of media you still analyze it and thoughtfully articulate what the intent was. Even if you aren’t a fan of the thinking and execution. It makes for really intelligent and enjoyable videos. Just keep it up you’ve got a long term fan.
Your review is so critical and brilliant. Evil shouldn't have motive in this universe. That's what makes it special. That's what makes Halloween. And yes they sidelined all these characters that could've teamed up maybe to take down Corey and Michael. I remember Michael killing his doctor when he attempted to do what Corey did. You're spot on. We shouldve seen Michael in his prime and yes Corey feeding Michael victims was spot on. This had so much potential.
But I'm glad everyone will now treasure kills more.
A detail I don't see a lot of people talk about is that in the fight with Myers and Laurie, the way she pins him down is a call back (I think) to how the old man under that bridge was singing a song, "Pin me by my hands, pin me by my knees" (or smth like that)
Everytime I see Corey Cunningham in Halloween Ends, he kind of reminds me of Arnie Cunningham from Christine (1983). Christine was the one of the films that John Carpenter had worked on.
Ooooo. Arnie was the nerd that turn evil right?
An just like Corey Arnie died almost at the end. Infact both Micheal and Christine shared the same fate getting crushed at the end.
Exactly what I felt with Corey's character
I thought the same thing. Especially when Corey said to Michael "show me", that's the same thing Arnie said to Christine in Darnell's garage.
Yeah when the headlights came on on that tow truck that was definitely a christine homage
This movie's shortcomings aside, Michael has never looked better, and Blumhouse's cinematography and costume design truly brought back "the shape" as most people remember. no goofy eyebrows, clearly visible eyes or makeup-clad mugs (looking at you, Resurrection)
I think the flash backs during Michael's and Corey's scene signifies the end of that version of Corey's life
The Cory storyline was a bit weird (I really liked the Cory character a lot tho) but I had a fun time with Halloween ends.
Took me a full twenty four hours to watch cause of how boring it was
I honestly think they way Laurie worded it was good enough to leave a possible start for a new saga, franchise, or series where micheals "shape" changes into another form of evil leaving a seed for the anthology series. I also really liked seeing Laurie a but more happy and healthy gave me parallel vibes to her in the first movie which we haven't felt since then basically lmao, in shorter terms it was a relief to not see Laurie so crazy and erratic, dark and gloomy. Ending sucked tho i demand a redemption series, some people had to wait 40 years for that huge let down, also I hate that Cory overpowered micheal in the sewer so easily, that's not how micheal is
MM THE GOAT OF HORROR
Halloween Ends feels like a direct to video Hellraiser sequel. Movies like Inferno and Deader were trying different things and had sporadic appearances by Pinhead. The stories were such a departure they never felt like a Hellraiser movie. It almost felt like they took a script that was collecting dust in there file cabinet, brushed it off, than slapped the name Hellraiser on it. I wouldn't be surprised if blumhouse did the same thing with Halloween Ends..
What did hellraiser hellword do to u😂🤣🤣💯
Lol ouch
Ya'll really think Michael myers is dead ?🤣. that nigga is immortal, I wouldn't be surprised if the next halloween is called the return of michael myers. Halloween ends definitely wasn't the end
Facts . This movie sucked asssssss
@@designertonio5801 it better be the end cus this movie was trash af
Well, the trauma of taking someone’s life accidentally, while he was still responsible, and the town’s oppressive approach to Corey is what created an inherent evil that Michael’s gaze unlocked. Michael saw himself in Corey and Corey connected to Michael’s Darkness.
Laurie’s book had Samhain in the title which alludes to “the curse.”
Lastly, aside from Michael’s injuries and elderly age. His tether, the childhood home, was taken down. The film prior to this established that part of his relentless drive was his need to return home. Without his home, he is lost.
There was also the curious line, “did he let you live or did he let you escape.” There is something unexplained there… And while there may have been a moment that the Darkness in both had connected, it was diminished by the need for revenge and Michael just took him out at the end.
Still weak. Needs to be completely rewritten imo
Solid. I agree with it all and I liked Halloween Ends much better than Kills. To me, even though Michael had less to do, it felt more like an old school halloween movie. I saw that Samhain title and always liked that idea of a curse in the original series. To me it helped make sense of Michaels actions and just being evil and killing (exclude the thorn shit, but the samhain creepy message Michael wrote is chilling).
I agree micheal didn't see anything in Corey's eyes but his own reflection and that's why he let Corey go
@@nopronouns33 but why tho? Michael was “pure evil” since he was a little boy, killed his own sister. This dude accidentally killed a kid (granted the little fucker was annoying but didn’t deserve to die) and felt remorse from it… and Michael saw himself in that? Shit was weaaaaaak as fuck
I get what you’re saying, and the comments under your comment, but help me understand him & Michael is not the same instead of transferring the evil inside of Michael into him they made it to where Michael saw his self and Cory and they should never went that direction because it’s not the same he is described as a good kid but unfortunately ended up in a situation like that. Still trying to maintain and be that good person means he’s capable of doing good in the inside no matter what no one thinks. Whereas Michael that’s not the case at all pale face with no emotion, the darkest eyes, the devil eyes in the words of Donald Pleasence that movie was an F plus plus plus and I can’t believe people out here actually defending it straight trash 🚮 not only did they put him in a grinder, but that boy wrestling him to the ground for a mask he shouldn’t even been able to takeoff his face because of the events that Michael been through with that mask the blood trauma to the head and being inside of a burning House,, would’ve had it sticking to his face I mean damn he’s been down there for four years make it make sense he would’ve had to cut it off his face that’s a terrible movie. I can’t believe people liked it
Corey isn't fully killing out of revenge, he also kills out of evil, like look at that mail girl in the radio station, he kills her for no reason and shows that he is closer to be the Shape he could be
They didn't do the new antagonist thing with Sartain in Halloween 2018 because they new it would make fans mad, but then they go through with it anyway with Corey in Halloween Ends. I had a great uncle that was doing hard work on a farm and he was allot older then Myers was in Ends. They didn't have to make him weaker with age, they could have made him just as deadly.
Don’t forget that them watching The Thing isn’t only a direct reference to John Carpenter but also a call back to Tommy watching the original The Thing From Outer Space in the original Halloween.
First time I saw it, I wasnt a fan but loved the ending, just watched it again and enjoyed it much more now I knew what to expect.
Same
I actually turned up liking this movie and how they took it. Corey was quite an interesting character and he didn’t really overshadow Laurie as much. His turn was very tragic. And the ending was satisfying
It was an interesting movie to watch, I loved it and it was a good ending
Even the homeless man had a fighting chance of becoming the shape 😂
If only Halloween Ends gave Michael like an extra 20 minutes of screen time, it would make my 9/10 to 10/10
I loved how they included the victims from the previous movies and the entire town .I just wished Karen was there to witness
Agreed. Ends made Karen's death pointless and just there for shock value. They could've easily let her live.
Allyson leaving Haddonfield at the end made it so much sadder too. Despite their tragedy like losing Ray, Karen surviving might have made Allyson stay, and they could've been a family for real, not a broken one like before.
@@bggsz4 omg so true 🥹I felt this
Somehow they knew Michael was being transported tho…
Lol
@@bggsz4 idk about that, it feels like her death also moved laurie to stop her obsession with michael. her obsession with michael is what lead to Karens death
I was honestly sad that Ends was the ending of the Halloween trilogy, but it didn't feel like the end, it just felt flat and didn't have a satisfying conclusion
what? Michael dies. For real. I cant imagine a more satisfying conclusion
The way he just easily took MICHAEL MYERS mask like Michael Myers was a little kid was hilarious to me 😂
My biggest positive on the movie is the score during the final junk yard scene with michael's body and was also glad to see the entire town there to watch it happen
Having the whole town there was so cheesy though.
that shit was basiclly game of thrones
@@enriquesanchez9016 That’s what I thought
@@user-bj5ys4wn3s There's just too much fanservice all through the trilogy, to the point where no one speaks like an actual human being. Most of the dialogue are for the audience, not for the story.
i think it would have been cooler if they didnt kill him in the kitchen and threw him in that grinder alive. give him the last ditch effort reaching for a hand like a nod to H20.
I’m feeling the same way. They did my boy Michael dirty!
“Evil doesn’t die it changes shape” makes me think it’s not over there will be more movies
The worst part was the kid taking the mask away from him. They were just sidekicks working together now hes a helpless old man again
I think it's the perfect Halloween Timeline Finale, it's over blown, contrived, weird and a little confusing just like pretty much every other Halloween finale
In that context of paying homage to what John Carpenter wanted....and Halloween 3, I absolutely LOVED it!!! I wasn't sure how I felt about the new dude but now it makes SO Much more sense!!! Thank you for this review!!! I'm watching it again now with that context. I really loved Jamie Lee and agree she was the best she's ever been.
Swinging big in movies is not a good thing unless you hit big! This movie struck out big time
I think going into this movie hearing the worst made this movie better than It probably was. I don't think this was a bad way to end it at all. It was kind of refreshing to see the wear and tear from the last 2 films catching up to him. Seeing these horror villain's come back sequel after sequel after getter destroyed movie after movie with no signs of injury gets kinda old. Also like the thought of Michael passing along evil to someone else while getting his kills in as well. Not perfect but none of them were to be honest but not horrible either, I enjoyed this movie just wish they left a door open for Corey to comeback as the new Michael Meyers.
Yea me too Corey is that guy
The movie was garbage, Michael is the boogeyman , not invasion of the bodysnatchers , nobody came to see a new character kill people in the end of a trilogy.
Dam!!.. I saw a completely different film. This movie was horrible. I didn't want to see "The Babysitter part 2" I came into this film wanting to see Laurie and her grand daughter post 2018 horror. The actors were in the movie, but the characters were not in the movie. I don't know who those two ladies were in the movie. Michael .. lol.. no Michael in this movie. Michael's favorite flavor to kill is young people. The real Michael would have teared up Corey at first site.
@@Trainerdave_is_numero_uno I didn't come to see Michael that way either. But dude got fucked up last movie 😂 so him not coming back like he never got touched didn't bother me. Idk it worked for me 🤷
@@jot8000 if this was Halloween kills I will feel same way. Since this is the end it all made sense to me. I agree with the grand daughter it was annoying watching her be so stupid after all they been through. But Laurie was pretty much same just trying to tone it down after 4 years. I don't think I could take another movie of evil dies tonight 🤣 so I didn't mind the switch.
I think one of the big things that bothered me was that I was on board until Corey meets Michael and then all the sudden Corey just becomes an entirely different character without any sort of progression or struggle internally. I feel like I would have liked it more if there was some time to show this transition or even a little bit more explanation of what exactly happened. So Michael transferred his evil or did he? Was Corey always evil did he actually kill the kid on purpose and like it or did he kill the kid on accident but deep down liked it? A little bit more time spent on that would have made a whole lot of difference also it would have been cooler if Michael seeing this kid become evil rejuvenated him fully then Corey all the sudden realizes he's become everything everyone says he is and repents and sacrifices himself to save Allison or Lori from Michael. Lastly I hated the fact that most of the kills are from Cory dressed as Michael and not from Michael himself. It just took away from how awesome some of those kills were because it wasn't Michael in the end.
I feel so damn conflicted about the End of this trilogy. I don’t know where to begin. It felt more like a documentary to me 😏
Remember, “evil doesn’t die, it changes shape.” I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a new sequel where Cory got Allison pregnant (since they had slept together after Cory had the evil passed to him from Michael) and the child will grow to be evil and become the next Michael Myers or boogeyman.
I remember thinking that when I saw that scene, I bet that’s how they continue with it if they were to
I can see that
I said the same thing
Ffs don’t give this director ideas 😂
That’s a stretch
Finally got around to seeing it and I actually liked it a lot!
As soon as I saw the 'Season Of The Witch' blue font, I knew exactly what they were doing and it made the ride much easier!
My only gripe is that it felt like a movie that should've been the 2nd in a trilogy.
My only negative was that Mike didn't jump on the back of Coreys bike at any stage. :(
They could have had Corey take the place of Cameron in the first film.
I felt like the reason Michael was weak is because it has been so long since he had killed anyone. Like his evil power is a hunger bar that fills up the more he kills, but it depletes over time.
Did you not hear what the bum told corey when he came out the sewer he did Corey was the only that made it out alive
Exactly! Surprised Chris didn’t notice that lol
@@peterock42 yeah but he said for years he has been pulling people into the sewer not killing ppl every day lol. I’m sure a vampire wouldn’t be sufficed with one human every couple weeks to months.
If it depleted over time he would have been absolutely nothing after spending 40 years in smiths Grove not killing anyone at all. He escaped that bus in 2018 and was a pretty unstoppable.
@@coffin_king_1897 nobody said it made sense. But it's clearly the route they were taking
Those are the 2 main things I can't get over. Corey beating up Michael and the whole sidekick thing. My thoughts were exactly the same about how pure evil would kill Corey, too. At the very least Michael would use him to regain his strength and then kill him. As far as when they looked eachother in the eyes, I didn't interpret that as Michael passing on his evil because I felt like Corey was already on the descent. And when it showed those flashbacks of Coreys bad moments, I assumed it was either Michael somehow seeing it through some telepathy bs or like Corey's life flashing before his eyes. Was that not the case?
Kinda keep in mind Micheal was old an already taken a lot of damage from 4 years ago.
@@retiredsnowbunnyhunterx5106 Yet he was able to kill the mob and his niece AFTER the damage.
@@grimyagami michael is not related to Laurie in this blumhouse trilogy Halloween 2018 picks up from the very original movie so it never happened
@@retiredsnowbunnyhunterx5106 bro quit tryna defend this movie he took damage at the end of the original and got up right away and started moving again he was perfectly fine then fine enough to kill a officer by strangling him and bashing his head up against the wall but since he gets stabbed and shot ig that's considered heavily wounded for michael right? Bs it's lazy writing he got up perfectly fine to kill the mob who shot him and beat him in seconds then was good enough to kill karen and walk away to a sewer yeah bs
no. DGG wanted to portray the theme of evil being contagious. Being in the presence of Michael just kick started what was likely always in corey in the first place. As the potential for evil lives in all of us
So basically, this is The Dark Knight Rises of the Blum house Halloween franchise?
I love that you brought up Season of the witch. I felt like they took a while different script and threw it in there. I also noticed that this movie was reminiscent of the recent Candyman movie. The killer is passing the torch to someone else. All-in-all, I did enjoy it. I was satisfied with the ending.
Also when it looks like Lourie was going to end it all I was shouting noooo please don’t let it end like this pleeeeeease and then she said did your really think I’d off myself made me laugh because it felt like she was talking to me.
You kind of touch on what I said after my first viewing. It would've been cool to see Corey as Allyson's boyfriend throughout the trilogy, have him different from Cameron's storyline and have Ends highlight how the trauma affected both of them. With Allyson moving on and healing and Corey ending up troubled and being led towards the evil side.
I want to see them explore the supernatural side more with Michael & also not add social commentary into a slasher movie. Halloween kills and ends are a great example of that
As a huge fan I was so disappointed
Appreciate all your reviews and everything you do !
I have huge respect for the ending cuz I found out that Jamie lee wanted to end it that way and the producers let her make the ending up

HALLOWEEN ENDS Pt. 2: The next Michael could be an African-American lesbian...
They shouldn't have listen to her. But considering how they were kissing up to her because they were lucky Jamie said yes to being in the movies ( the day I saw the announcement it was like hell froze for me) she had a lot of influence in this trilogy. I still think they should have pushed for the third movie being in the same night even with the delays. Laurie injured going down fighting and getting rid of the curse and the source ( The source being her fear as Kills implied that Michael's legend made him powerful and who's the biggest reason for the legend to persist? the person who fears him the most...Laurie).
She had the fortitude to grind that dude up and end it for good. I'm down.
@@dahhmlife Not planning on seeing the sequel, then?
Michael having a partner is worse character assassination then the tear from Halloween 5
I didn’t hate it. I enjoyed some of the ideas in the movie. The problem was trying these ideas in a series finale movie. This really just hit me as a remake of Christine with Michael essentially being Christine.
Yeah, it had really interesting ideas but didn’t execute those ideas that well.
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING. Like these are all cool ideas, but belong in like a spin-off series are a continuation sort of thing where people have begun to copy cat Michael, creating a legacy of sorts. Not as Michael’s grand finale.
You've worded my thoughts perfectly and I have no choice but to subscribe and follow your work. Thank you.
That opening scene 😵😵💫🤯that was disturbing to me as a father myself I couldn't imagine losing my son 💔 it mortified me when he fell from the top of the stairs I couldn't watch that scene that was the most brutal intense and disturbing kill I've ever seen but all in all the rest of it wasn't too bad Enjoyed it

It wasnt even “a kill”. It was an accident.
I loved your positive and open minded review! You’re not just glossing over what this film was trying to say. 🙌
I was ready for it to end honestly that toxic love thing was soo sick but they pulled me back at the end
The second I saw Cory with the cut on his cheek ( like Michael’s) I knew they were gonna try to make him the new boogeyman. If I was the writer I would have done a completely different movie. For starters I would have cut the Corey going bad part and made him a survivor instead. He could have a whole redemption arc where he helps try to stop the evil instead of being consumed by it. Then I would have Corey stumble across Michael instead of being taken by him. Then Corey would escape, Michael will follow him, thus why he starts killing again. Then finally i would have the ending be Laurie, Allyson, and Corey are facing Michael and it seems like it’s all over. But then we come to realize that while Michael is striking fear into his victims. He also has a fear of his own ( don’t ask me what it is because god knows I can’t figure that out ). Then Laurie will make him live that fear and he will then lose his power and become a weak old man. Then Laurie will deliver the final blow. Now am I saying that this is a better plot to this movie. Heck no ( besides it sounds more like a fan fiction than anything ) I’m just saying the way I would make it. If anything this movie would be terrible with my ideas.
I honestly think Corey should have been the new Laurie but I guess they wanted to give that to Allyson. I’m with Cris the transition to evil was janky, but overall I liked the film.
You gotta remember dude michael is old him and Laurie are around the same age this franchise shouldn’t go any farther
@@jalenjohnson256 id say this timeline of the franchise shouldn’t go further, I myself would definitely hate if this is what the last Halloween movie ever would be.
This felt like a soap opera than a horror movie
wow had no idea they made the font the same as H3, i thought the movie was pretty good and think they did well with trying to do something new while wrapping up the story as well the whole eye thing though i cant get behind
They did my boy Micheal dirty 😭😭😭
I think it was a solid sequel. Wasn't nearly as bad as the last. I wish they would have kept Corey alive for the future. Didn't like that Michael was weak but that could be due to age.
Old age an the major damage he took 4 years before
In Halloween Kills it was mentioned that the more he kills, the more powerful he gets. Maybe, he is just weak because he didn't have any victims. SPOILER!! When he kills the police offer in Ends, he seems to get back more of his powers agan. Even though I really enjoyed the story with Corey, I would have wished that they'd finish one story (talking 'bout Laurie and Michael) before they kick off another one. This movie seemed like the final showdown had already happened before but then, 20 minutes before the end credits, it looks like the producers suddenly said "Oops, we've forgotten something". SPOILER!! Corey seems to have died but I guess, that in case there are more Halloween movies to come, they'd let him return and go on with their idea "Evil never dies". So, he could become the "new" Michael and the franchise would have more sequels.
I knew this movie wasn’t going to be what I expected when pretty much no one died within the first half. Now that I think of it, 90% of the deaths didn’t happen until right before the finale.
Yup i was thinking the same thing. There wasn’t enough death scenes.
I was so excited to see this movie and I was met with disappointment. It’s a sad way to end the trilogy. They ruined Michael Myers
I was here for the movie in the first half but the ending when they killed Corey made me mad like why waste a character just to kill him
